My case was a little complicated. The first lawyer I hired did a horrible job for me and took over 6 months on my case with no result and put me in a risk. So I decided to change a lawyer for my case, and I got Steve, he only took 2 months on my case and resolved my case with a wonderful result for me. Highly Recommended! The price is a little higher but you will get what you pay for.

Very helpful. Although our case wasn’t in his area he still went out of his way to refer us to other people.

Neil worked as my advocate involving civil litigations that lasted 14 years. We prevailed. Although a long and arduous experience for us all, Neil knows the law, and will provide his expertise with a fine toothed comb for whatever your needs entail. I’m thankful to have had Neil as my long time advocate and friend. Thank you for all that you’ve done Neil.

I’ve known Mr. Sunkin since he was a Partner in national law firm. Mr. Sunkin has provided legal advice to me personally, for my business, and has worked with business associates I have referred to him. He has helped me work through legal issues in complex business disputes and has represented my business associates in litigation superbly. He is patient, highly professional, and ethical. As a litigator he is highly skilled, strategic, and aggressive when the situation requires, but he keeps cost in mind. He is a skilled negotiator when negotiation is required. He is a superb writer, knows the law and how to use it to maximize it to advantage. He can develop solutions outside of the box, keeping my business goals in mind. He handles all matters himself, so my legal business is not delegated to a junior lawyer, and he provides service at a much lower rate than that of a large law firm.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:

    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
