Everything is easy and done online and through e mails. Instead of asking for open ended retainers like some lawyers, she just gives you a reasonable quote for the works you need done and then do them quickly and efficiently. Impressive.

I usually do not rate or review services online but I thought the stellar service I received from the Worrell Law firm deserves my time and recognition. Mr. Worrell made our dream of becoming parents painlessly true.
The fostering and adoption process is rewarding but can be very painful as it has so many ups and downs let alone the legal landscape that continuously changes and last minute obstacles.
I will not go through the whole painful story here but the very TLDR is that we were about to lose the kiddos that were placed with us for over 2 years since birth to a relative that never was present in their lives until a few weeks before trial and parental rights termination.We were devastated and wanted to fight for the kids to stay in the only family they had known. We thought all hope was lost until we were referred to the Worell law firm to assist.
I called Mr. Worell on the phone for an initial consultation and he did admit that it was not enough time to prepare since the trial was so close but he would work around the clock to fight for us. Before we even signed the retainer’s agreement Mr. Worell had already reached out to the social worker and the DA to inquire about the case. What kind of lawyer would care as much for the person than the check? I really was wow’ed by that. He gathered all the evidence he could find in a short time and was ready for trial. He made a great case for us before the judge and… that cross examination during trial..Oh boy, he really knew what he was doing. After that victory, Mr. Worell worked closely with us for the adoption and even went an extra mile to prepare the birth certificate application and made sure everything was well organized to be sent to the Vital Statistics. I am very grateful to you and your team Mr. Worell and would 100% recommend to anybody who need an excellent and caring lawyer.

I had to take the time to write a review to share our experience with the Worrell Law Firm. This was truly an amazing experience for my family. We did a Termination/Step parent adoption. Throughout the entire process, Blanca and Sylvia were on it. They kept us informed of the process for court and all the necessary steps we needed to take. Not only did they help in the adoption process, they also helped us with the termination of the absent father. (Which I didn't think was possible) I couldn't thank God enough for bringing these amazing attorneys in our lives. They truly care about our children and take pride in their work. When we arrived to the court, Mr. Worrell arrived sharp and ready for court. I knew he could tell we were all nervous. He took the time to speak to each one of my children. Speaking to all 3, he asked them, "do you know why you are here?" They said "to be adopted" He made them and us feel at ease before we went into court. During court he called all our family up front to share in this experience. This day was a very emotional and fantastic day. It will always be a day to remember. From the bottom of our hearts we would like to say a BIG THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS FROM THE NEW JACINTO FAMILY!

this lawyer right here will go to bat for you and do his best to prove your innonce and make things right and he will cget some charges or services dropped to..he will make sure you look yr best in the courtroom,,he is a reassuring lawyer who is kind caring and goes all out espically when their are kids invovled..we hired him i the middle of may 2012 and on july 5th at 1230 noon i had both of my children back safe and in our arms.. he took the stemmons office of cps caseworker we had to court and sunpouned her boss and that offices supervisor and we came out of that courtroom succesful with in two and a half hours.. he also got all the horrrible charges against my husband dropped for lack of evidence and no police reports..the caseworker we had was not on our case anymore and we got a more nicer understanding caseworker that would comminicate with us and not yell at us and make us feel like crap..

The address for this location is 8150 N. Central Expressway. The way google Maps takes you to is by Klyde Warren Park. Incorrect and stressing. The location is, of course, off 75 exit Caruth. The tall gold glass window is it on the right. The building has 16 floors, I believe. If you need floors higher than 9, take the two elevators closer to Rhino coffee. I wish I'd known all this prior to my 1st appointment at Taylor Counseling. Other than that, I would have given this location a five. Google Maps, fix the directions for this location, please.

I’m leaving this organization (2) stars. The second star came from you offering my $100.00 back after confirming with me you only work with “rich people” and not single mothers already struggling. The people seem nice and they respond to your concerns quickly….but if you ain’t rich this isn’t the law firm for you. My heart was broken when I begged them as a single mother to please work with me and I promise we could work out a realistic payment arrangement. Mr. Williams explained my case for child support and primary custody could possibly cost more than 4K. They also explained their retainer fees and how you’re billed for every call, text, email, or them touching your case. Lastly, per their organization direct response “I will advise you that if your retainer is depleted or you're retainer account ever has less than $1500, you will be asked to refill your retainer.” I advised them to go have a prayer with God and get back with me if they will accept 4K for my case and serve me as a client. I’m leaving you this long review because I’m an influencer as my side hustle and I want the world to see this and WAKE UP and realize money is the root of all evil! If God assigned you to be a lawyer he is trusting you with that higher level of authority to serve the people at your best ability. It’s 2025, times are hard I hope this is a wake up call for this organization to have a round table meeting and the subject should be “Do we really serve our people”? God bless these rich attorneys. May your money bring you happiness in this lifetime.

This is truly the best lawyer anyone could ever get. My ex had already filed papers and It was Friday when I met and retained Steve. I had court the following Thursday. I was very skeptical as many are when getting a attorney. Steve worked quick and fast. He filed things promptly and quick. I would recommend him to anyone that I know. I am impatient and probably wasn't the easiest client to deal with. Steve was their every step of the way. He explained exactly what was going on every time something would happend and exactly what to do. If you listen and follow what he says then it will go in your favor as it did mine. My custody situation was exhausting and lasted almost 2 years. I got in the end exactly what I wanted. His prices were very reasonable as well. He has been a lawyer forever and has seen it all as he did in my case. I suggest be honest and straight forward and tell him what you would like your outcome to be and he will tell you what to do to make it happen. His assistant Lisa is the sweetest lady ever. If he was busy then she would call and let me know things immed. I couldn't say enough great things about these people and how much they helped my family and children out. Thank you again!

He went behind my back and drew up an illegal custody arrangement with my ex and pretended to be a non biased attorney "just making sure it was legal". He took away my basic rights as a parent. I was denied even standard order posession when our agreement was supposed to be 50/50. He then screwed me out of $3500 trying to fix his original mistakes because my ex refused to pay him anything even though he was her attorney. I only agreed because I desperately wanted time with my kid. He never filed the modifications. Then laughed in my face when he told me he used his wife Sasha, (who is also his paralegal) as the "psychologist" to clear my ex after she called and told our son she was going to blow her brains out and he would never see his mother again. His wife use to work at Arlington schools as a counselor, not sure how she is qualified to clear a suicide attempt in a custody case. They hid this information falsely under HIPPA rules. My poor kid has seen his mother shoot a gun at me, and dealt with a slew of psychological BS because of this man and his shady practices.

I was working with Karen M Burns from February to April 28, 2020. She has ghosted me and the case, that she sent a demand letter for. I last spoke with her on April 28 and it is July 7th and she has not returned any of my calls (I call weekly) and has not returned any of my 16 emails. I have received no explanation, her receptionists say they just saw her a few days ago, and she's never expressed any doubts in taking the case. We are now hearing back from the opposing party but Miss Burns has ruined the case as she will not communicate.

Hired attorney Karen Burns on October 23,2018. The firm is called Burns Iwuji, PLLC. I was searching for an attorney and found them on, Fathers Rights in Texas website. My mother first spoke with attorney Burns on September 2018, which was I’m assuming the free consultation. My mother met with attorney Iwuji and was charged a consultation fee which was odd because my mother clearly stated she was there to hire them. I did google the firm before we met and at that time they had great reviews.
However, both of this attorney will charge for possibly everything they can. Even the air you breath if possible. Attorney Iwuji mentioned that a portal was going to be set up. This was the way of us communicating with the firm and keeping up with charges incurred. The portal was set up a month after we hired them. I never received and invoice from them until June 2019 asking for more money because we had no more funds.
First court date was scheduled for Dec; 2018 it was rescheduled. Second court date 2/26/2019, judge gave the mother more time to hire and atty. I was before the judge no more than 5 minutes yet I was charged 2 hrs. Third court date 3/14/2019 we were there maybe 45 minutes I was charged for another 2 hrs. Attorney Burns, constantly wanted to meet to go over our case. Every time we met with her we were charged for 2 hrs. Now, keep in mind we didn’t know about the charges because up until the last time we met we hadn’t received and invoice. I would send atty Burns emails over and over again with no response. If I called the office because she wouldn’t reply and spoke them for like literally 2-3 minutes I was charged $30. I have plenty of proof to show how incompetent this attorney was.
Absolutely nothing was accomplished. My daughter is still in an abuse home. I lost money and time form work. I believed and trusted attorney Burns. Now, I truly believe this firm was a RIP off. Unfortunately, I can’t say to do your research before hiring anyone because I did. I lost thousands of dollars and I’ve also lost hope in the justice system. I pray to God every day that he keeps my daughter safe.
*We hired them to have a court ordered already in place be modified.
(atty made an agreement w/the mother for extended time from March –June 2019)
*I have several police reports on mother for not showing up to pick up my daughter.
*I have police reports and videos of mother showing up an hour late to drop off or to pick up my daughter.
*I have pictures of the physical abuse
*Mother was ordered to change last name on my daughter it’s been 3 years and it hasn’t been done yet.
*Mother has long history with CPS.
*And the list goes on and on.

Did not show up to court. Lost all our paperwork and emailed copies 3 times. Resending not a big deal but annoying. Communication through out the whole process was horrible. Now we lost the case and it's very hard to over turn. He has promised to return our money in payments. First check was denied by the bank. And now he says I forgot. I have the emails to prove it.

This will be a detailed review so if you need a short one, do not hire Holly to represent you. If I had not checked and had my attorney partner to proof read, she would have ruined my finances and given one of my cars to my ex-wife. My attorney partner and her attorney father were appalled at what I went through here. I ended up correcting the entire petition myself with the help of my partner after I was still finding material (not just grammatical) errors after the 5th version.
First: Mishandling of material information
The most severe failure here was—despite me having provided material information twice, the second time in writing and organized so it was copy and paste-able—Holly still made severe errors. She assigned one of my brokerage accounts to my ex-wife that belonged to me. She put one of my cars’ VIN numbers as the VIN number for my ex wife’s car I was giving her. She wrote the same account number twice but as if it was different account types. Had this gone to court, it would have financially harmful or caused more delays and costs having to get it corrected. It was an agreed divorce and this could have caused my ex-wife to think I was trying to pull something over on her, which would have ruined the delicate peace we have.
I had to ask Holly 5-6 times to correct something else each time I reviewed another draft. I finally just ended up doing the key points myself, which defeats the purpose of paying someone two thousand dollars to do it. It took about 6 editions ultimately to get an acceptable decree because there were so many mistakes made inputting the very clear information I provided to Holly.
Secondly: Failure to protect non public information.
In the first draft of the final decree, Holly had left in information of her other clients in it instead of mine. This included their phone number, address, employer name and address, and partial social security number and drivers license number. There are laws about attorneys needing to protect and secure such information. Now I will worry forever about Holly doing the same to me with my information.
Third: Grammatical Errors.
Holly makes regular grammatical errors even in what was intended to be a final draft sent to a judge. From spelling my name as Wants, to putting my child’s initials as EAM when it’s AEW, missing periods, punctuation marks, missing or misspelled words. This is all in the first draft of the final decree she mailed me and was in the some 5th draft she wrote before I decided to correct it myself.
Lastly,
When it came time to file Holly said we could e-sign the decree, it was filed and rejected because it was e-signed. Holly ranted and raved rather unprofessionally about the Judge. This cost me another $40 in printing and more hours wasted syncing up with my ex-wife an hour away in Fort Worth to get it signed. For an attorney who claims to do all this electronically I’m surprised by her claims she didn’t know. I got her the signed paperwork two days later, and had to send three emails following up nearly a week afterwards to get her to confirm it was filed. Then another email a week later for her to bother uploading the signed decree.
I had paid Holly her fees in full as she does flat rate before we started on the decree (which is reasonable of her I might add) however had I not already paid in full, I would have fired her and hired another attorney. I didn’t only because I had already paid in full and it wasn’t until then all the severe stuff came up.

Ashley promised to keep charges down. Instead she threatened to withdraw constantly if funds weren't constantly replenished. She had charges for paralegals doing general secretarial work and reading emails she already charged for reading. Her fees were astronomical and work was poor. She entered stuff incorrectly for me and refused to correct her work or help me get it corrected which cost me terribly and my children.

My case was a child custody case. Being a Father in Texas and trying to get custody of your children seemed to be an almost impossible task. The Texas court system is NOT too favorable to giving Father's custody, even when the children want to live with their Father. This lawyer was the most insensitive rude lawyer I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. She kept non of my information disclosed, she was rude, and said terrible things. She doesn’t NOT CARE about her clients at all. LACKS COMPLETE EMPATHY. Doesn’t do her job and relies on other lawyers to do her job for her. She is NEVER available is always taking vacations and spending time at “family events”. If you want someone who will over charge and do a piss poor job and make you feel terrible about your choice for adoption THIS IS THE ONE! BEWARE horrible manners would not recommend
