Jacci was very helpful in going over the generally expected ranges for things like property divisions, spousal support, etc. when discussion possible options regarding divorce and dissolution proceedings without children. All of our negotiations with the other party went smoothly, and the dissolution was completed as quickly as possible once all the documents were submitted. I had contacted dozens of lawyers to help me with my (contested adoption) case, they all had turned me down until I found Ryan Kuhn. From the very beginning you could tell Ryan and his assistant Jen are both very passionate and knowledgeable about what they do. Ryan and his assistant, Jen, were very understanding and compassionate but yet professional and reasonable as they helped me file for divorce from my husband of 30 plus years. One of the first things Ryan said to me was… “ I am more expensive than a counselor, so if you want to chat about things not directly pertaining to the case, I will steer you back on track….but I recommend it is healthy to go seek out a counselor to help you emotionally get through the divorce.” Right from the start he was very conscious of a budget and kept things moving that were important to the case. He reminded me that somethings could cost more in attorney fees than were worth proving. Where I wanted to achieve something based on the principle of it, he steered me back to the cost that would be sacrificed to get it.
The divorce was complicated by the fact that I had put my career on hold to be a stay-home-mom to several children, allowing my husband to advance his career with the federal government and have all the perks related to early retirement eligibility, federal employee health benefits (FEHB), a government pension and a generous government matching Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). Although I had the same college degrees, education level, previous federal employment, and had recently picked up non-federal employment, I did not have the number of years to be eligible similar benefits. I counted on Ryan to weed through the confusing government rules and regulations pertaining to government “Spouse Equity,” “Survivor Spouse Annuity,” and “Federal Employees Health Benefits.” When my husband was adamant that he did not want to provide for the Survivor Spouse Annuity, Ryan was able to appeal to him and his attorney to have it provided because of the long marriage. Whatever Ryan did not know, he found out. He also has access to professional paralegals (at rates less than his) who are experts at dividing government retirement and TSP accounts based on individual cases. Ryan leveraged their information and guidance in preparing the court orders for the retirement division and the TSP division. Ryan is highly knowledgeable of the government retirement-type issues and an expert in the preparation of court orders specific to government retirement plans.
Although there were no longer any minor children, my case was further complicated by many other things, to include stock being held for an elderly parent with the intention that it would be returned to her if needed for her health care, multiple bank accounts, brokerage accounts, credit cards, student loans for a couple children, pages of personal belongings, hotel points, airline points, hidden cash, hidden trips, hidden debt, an adult child still in college-tuition, a house mortgage, a timeshare, multiple cars, some of which belonged to children, a dog, healthcare, dental and vision for adult children under the age 26, and the desire to be able to obtain federal healthcare when needed for myself.
One of the best ways to describe Ryan is that he has the mind of a chess player. He was always thinking one move ahead, and the topic of alimony comes to mind here (pros and cons)…. You’ll have to ask him.
Did the divorce cost more than expected? … Absolutely! But I am the reason for this. I can be wordy (this is probably the longest review on his page) and my emails long, but Ryan patiently answered every question, reminding me along the way to trust him, and that my wordiness and multiple questions would cost me more. I did not care because he was providing me with information which gave me peace of mind. He also obtained something that three other attorneys told me could not be done (ask him!). He is excellent, worth every penny.
Lastly, it is not in my nature to write reviews. I have made this one exception because Ryan and his assistant, Jen, deserve kudos for a job well done. A sincere Thank You Ryan for accomplishing the near impossible. May your practice thrive!

Jenn is an absolute wonder. She and her staff helped me through my mother's estate and setting up my own families trust. It's hard to find someone to trust with your assets, but after extensive research and reading reviews (plus - gut instinct) - it was a homerun. Jen returns calls and messages that same day or in some cases within minutes. Don't know how many people actually know about the work that goes into estate planning and setting up a family trust - It's a lot... 'trust' me. Jen went over every aspect of what the whole process encompasses. Sometimes it gets confusing, but she understands that it's a lot to take in and doesn't have any problem going over things with you again.

We conferred with Jen about drawing up our wills. We had definite ideas about how we wanted our affairs handled, but we didn't think we needed a Trust. Just a simple will. Jen was very patient and explained that what we wanted to do was exactly what a Trust was designed to do. Still, we just wanted a simple will. Jen did not press us and continued to try and make our wishes work with just a simple will. As we worked together, we began to see that she was right and eventually established a Living Trust. We have so much peace of mind now knowing that when the time comes, our affairs will be handled according to our wishes. I really appreciate Jen's patience and ability to explain things.

Justin and I sat down originally once I decided to attempt shared parenting. He was very helpful with discussing the process that needed to be done and the proper steps in doing so. Him and I always kept an open communication during this process which made it easier to respond to certain steps during this. He was overall a Great Person to work with and Fought for what he felt was right for the children in the process. We received full custody.
Justin was knowledgeable, professional, but, most importantly he truly cared.

When our Mom passed away several years ago, Bill handled the Reverse Mortgage notification for us. I was in a bit of a tough situation last summer. I was up against a potential OVI charge after being pulled over late at night with a .7 BAC. Being just a few months shy of turning 21, I was more than a little freaked out at the potential damage that this could have on my record and future.

A little over 1 year ago, i was in a custody battle with the mother of my child. I decided to get some legal assistance to back me up and my grandfather came across Mr.Treherne's law office. Mr hayes did my husband and my wills, he was very helpful. After my husband passed away he helped me put survivorship to my daughter on my property. When my daughter passed away last year, without a will he met with me and discussed probate, he told me which packet to ask for, suggested I fill out the paperwork and file with the court because he would have to charge me about half of what her estate was worth. And he didn't charge me for that visit.

I think Mardee did a wonderful job in my divorce. She always let me know what was going on and always copied me on the emails and letters she sent to my ex-husband's attorney. Plus if I called her or emailed her, she got back with me within a few hours. She was really good about working with my ex-husband's attorney on an agreement that was good for the children, but also that I felt good about. She was very encouraging and always ready to listen and explain things I did not understand. I was very happy with how everything wound up and would recommend her highly.

My wife and I had an adoption that was finalized and then vacated two months later. When the adoption was vacated my previous attorney refused to return our calls and left us in the dark while we were in the process of moving out of state. I simply did not know what had just happened.
I sent out over 50 emails to Cleveland Attorneys during the Christmas Season hoping that one of them would be able to explain what had just happened. Most did not respond and the ones that did told me they did not practice in my county or did not work in adoption law.

Attorney Barrett always responds quickly, is upfront with you on what to expect and never gives false expectations, extremely prepared, and has a tenacity that many attorneys do not have when it comes to adoption.
I wish I had known Attorney Barrett prior to this adoption. If I had, then my finalized adoption would never have been vacated. I made the mistake of hiring a general practitioner to handle my adoption case because I did not know any better. That mistake cost me.
When it comes to your family and your adoption, hire the best. Do your research and know-how experienced your possible attorney is with adoption law. You will be surprised at how many don't really know much about it.

Unfortunately I've had to use my fair share of lawyers in the past. Mr. Noble was fair, and did everything in his power to come to a conclusion that you are happy with. I thought forsure I was going to trial. But the magic Mr. Noble worked allowed me to continue in my programs I was currently in without violating. I was honestly very surprised he was able to pull those strings. I've had multiple status hearings and forgot to call him and tell him I had court. On 3 separate occasions.... He appeared every time ready to go to war for me if needbe. I've never left a review for a product on Amazon let alone a lawyer in Avvo.
