I was working for Walmart during the pandemic of 2020. Unfortunately, I contacted covid-19 while working and spent 2 months in the hospital being disabled for years after and couldn't work. Walmart didn't look after me at all. Didn't pay any lost wages or medical treatment. They denied my workers' compensation claim, and they fired me. I chose the canlas law group to handle my case. On April 24, 2024, I experienced a hit-and-run accident on the 91 Freeway during rush hour. It was a three-car chain reaction caused by a black truck that struck a Tesla, which then collided with my minivan. Unfortunately, the driver of the truck fled the scene, and I only learned about their departure through witness accounts after the fact.
Having maintained a flawless driving record for 17 years, with no tickets or accidents, I was caught completely off guard by the situation. I wasn’t sure where to start—should I contact my insurance company, arrange for vehicle repairs, or see a doctor first? On top of that, I was dealing with a severe headache from the impact, which made it even harder to think clearly.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) arrived shortly after the accident and directed us to pull over safely. They facilitated the exchange of insurance and contact information and filed a police report. Once I returned home, I sought advice from friends about my next steps. Several of them recommended I reach out to VLC (Victims’ Legal Counsel), and I’m incredibly grateful that I did.
From the moment I contacted VLC, they took control of the situation, handling every detail on my behalf. Steven Chung is big on FB and auto PR but actually I found him incompetent, unprofessional, unreliable and has no clue whatsoever on business and tax law. He took $200 for Messenger consultation on a simple transfer of LLC ownership (resolved in a few hours by another lawyer) and his consultation was that “I need a lawyer”… After thinking and delaying me with 10 days. He’s just waste of money and time.

If anyone needs to get out of a tax pickle, this is your guy! He came recommended by many people in the business community and I'm so glad we took their recommendation. We've spent the last two years working with him on a case and he got it completely dropped! We truly believe his experience in fighting tax cases and knowledge of the subject matter are what really helped us get the case dropped. His written responses to the FTB were thoroughly researched and backed by precedence that was hard to reject. We signed and paid a retainer at the beginning (which is standard for any lawyer to engage them in work) and then he sent us a final bill after our case was dropped. I was scared what his final bill was going to be but the amount was very fair and reasonable considering the lengthy amount of time our case took to resolve due to being passed to multiple auditors. He is seriously the best and a true expert in his field.
