He is a nice person. But if you want someone who will fight for you in my own opinion he won’t. Very hard to reach at important times. Overall let me down on my case. Again very nice and respectful to his CLIENTS; however he has no problem telling you” plead guilty and pray for mercy” after months of saying everything is fine. All I wanted was a fair trial. I asked for a jury over 3xs some how I walked into court with a bench trial. Complicated cases is not his strong point and instead of passing it on to another lawyer, he’ll try gambling your freedom. Really let me down didn’t even put in a motion of discovery he was listening to audios off of the commonwealths computer. That he never heard which where played at each level I’ve been to in court! Didn’t even have the correct dates being used against me. On top of all that was rude to my witnesses and NEVER spoke to them and this was my appeal trial. Set me up for pure failure.

I have known David for nearly 10 years. He is a highly knowledgeable attorney, who has worked in business and family law. Recently, he assisted me with legal documentation that helped me incorporate a new business. The materials he provided me met my expectations and legal needs perfectly.

I recently used Hunter Law Firm for closing on a property I was selling. The process was smooth and easy to navigate. Megan Behrns was the law firm representative handling the paperwork and she was a joy to work with. Great communication! I would highly recommend Hunter Law!

I want to share my experience with attorney David Dildy to caution others. When I first met him, he seemed very charismatic and convincing. He made everything sound promising, and I felt like I was in good hands. He even got me into the courtroom quickly, which initially felt reassuring. But once we were there, things didn’t feel right. As time went on, it became clear that Mr. Dildy was unreliable. He often made excuses for not getting things done, blaming illness or medication, but the truth was he just didn’t follow through on what he promised. I had to constantly push him to take action, and it was exhausting. One of the biggest issues was with the child support paperwork. He assured me it would be handled quickly, but it took him two months to file anything, and even then, he filed the wrong motion. Instead of filing to request child support, he only filed to amend or stop it. This mistake meant I had to start the process all over again nearly a year later, losing valuable time and support that I needed. What was most disturbing was when my children were in danger. Instead of taking immediate action to protect them, Mr. Dildy gave me a terrible analogy, comparing my situation to sacrificing troops to win a war. He advised me to let things get worse so we’d have a stronger case. As a parent, I was appalled. My children’s well-being should never have been treated like a tactical move in a legal battle. They are not pieces on a chessboard to be sacrificed for a better outcome. Another huge issue was his lack of fight. He was very quick to give in to any demands from the other side and never stood up for my best interests. Because of him, I had to jump through hoops to accommodate things he passively accepted, leaving me frustrated and feeling like I wasn’t being properly defended. I eventually filed a complaint with his firm and got a small refund of about $2,000, but that didn’t come close to making up for the tens of thousands of dollars I wasted on his poor representation. It was only with the help of another law firm that I finally won my case. If you’re considering hiring David Dildy, I strongly advise you to think twice. He may seem convincing at first, but in my experience, he didn’t deliver on his promises and failed to protect my family when it mattered most. Your case deserves an attorney who will genuinely look out for your best interests.

My husband hired Mr. Dildy last year for a custody case. He got him to court quickly for the emergency case. After the first hearing my husband was granted temporary physical custody of the kids. After that first hearing was finished is when David began dragging his feet and making excuses for why we couldn’t press concerns and other issues. He would say on numerous occasions that he didn’t like to fight, he wasn’t going to throw stuff at the wall, and that he felt sorry for the other side (mother). He would tell us that by letting the children go visit her and having the bad stuff continue to happen it would only be better for court and would give us more to use against the mother (instead of finding ways to prevent them from going to the mother’s home and allowing the incidents to continue to happen). We had already NUMEROUS reasons why the kids were in danger! We didn’t need more reasons! He wouldn’t use those though! When we would call with concerns, he would tell us history stories and on numerous occasions the calls would end with him asking us to give information to the mother instead of protecting us and the children. We spent several thousands and thousands of dollars BEGGING David to help, defend, and guide us for the children’s sake. He lied about submitting documents that we found out once the case finished from our new attorney, which costs us thousands (and he had told us he had submitted after asking him multiple times). David works when you tell him you are going to seek another attorney but other than that he will not! He will manipulate you and smooth talk you. At one point he convinced people involved in the case that the children weren’t being abused, which was the entire case!! You would be better off not having an attorney, he is a nightmare! He literally works against you and takes all your money. He also urinates while speaking with you on the phone. Thank goodness we fired him! Thank goodness! Our new attorney literally cost a quarter of what David cost, worked 2x longer than him and actually finished the case with having us show up 1 time out of 3 court hearings. I would run from him and not look back. It is scary that David is in charge of helping people’s lives, especially children!

My husband and I hired Mr. Didly three years and every year we won. I hired Mr. Dildy again for the fourth time, due to the child's mom still not complying with the court order. That's when Mr. Dildy said we are going for custody, not knowing Mr. D’s strategy, we worrying, lordy I was. Once Mr. Dildy gets into the courtroom he is in a winning zone. We won our custody battle case, thanks to Mr. DILDY and the wonderful friendly staff at Weisberg & Weisberg law firm. To anyone that may be reading this review be patient, comply with the court order, write down the evidence if the other parties not complying with the court order, and try to get along with the other parties that are involved. It helps the child in many ways. A custody case is a very sensitive, draining, and overwhelming case for everyone who’s involved especially the child. I know this was a long review but it was well worth writing and hoping I can help someone else make the right decision in finding the right lawyer to represent them well in the courtroom. Will I hire Mr. D again? Yessssss I WILL!

In my opinion this is and has been the worst experience. When meeting Attorney Tyson she gave me the impression that she would walk with me, keep me posted, and assured me that I was not in this alone. She also expressed how she understood my pain and was empathetic about all that I was enduring, being a breast cancer survivor and husband abandoning me, and commtting adultery. Little to my knowledge she gave me false hope. After paying on the 1st visit, I quickly saw a different side. There were no phone calls, no responses from me calling, and when having a court date I was informed 1 to 2 days prior. When the court hearing date came. She was late for court, very unorganized, fumbling papers, was told I don't like coming to court, and she had NO confidence. I felt like she worked for the other team. When addressing my concerns with her, she always was quick to say I'm sorry however NEVER changed her actions. I continue to get the run around and finally uave been asked would I like to get another attorney. ABSOLUTELY not is my response! I have paid for your services do the work! Please do more research when retaining a lawyer. Our money and time matters!

July 8, 2019, I met with attorney Tyson to seek her help in recovering back pay since March 2019. Consultation fee was paid. She listened attentively and recorded any notes. She stated she would write a demand letter. Since that time I have called her 9 times for an update on further meetings / funds needed to proceed. Not one call has been returned. I am very disappointed with this waste of time and money.

Ms. Tyson and her staff were an amazing help with my case. I was lost and had no idea where to go or what to do. I met with Ms. Tyson and she instantly put me at ease. All of my questions were answered and I was kept informed every step of the way. I would highly recommend Ms. Tyson and do any chance I get.

What a Business Lawyer Can Do for You

A business lawyer provides critical legal guidance and support to entrepreneurs, startups, and established businesses. Whether you are forming a new company, drafting contracts, or navigating complex regulations, a business attorney ensures you are legally protected and operating within the law. They can also help prevent legal disputes or represent you in negotiations, transactions, or lawsuits that arise during the course of business operations.

Business lawyers have expertise in areas such as business formation, contract law, intellectual property, employment law, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. They ensure that your business is compliant with relevant laws and help mitigate risks that could threaten your company's success.

When Should I Hire a Business Lawyer?

Hiring a business lawyer is essential at various stages of business development, including:

  • Forming a business: When deciding on the best structure for your company (LLC, corporation, partnership, etc.), a lawyer can guide you through the registration and compliance process.
  • Drafting contracts: If you need contracts for employees, partners, suppliers, or clients, a lawyer ensures these documents are legally sound and in your best interest.
  • Mergers, acquisitions, or dissolutions: If you are buying, selling, or dissolving a company, legal counsel is critical to avoid costly mistakes.
  • Compliance and regulatory issues: A lawyer can help navigate complex regulations, particularly in industries like healthcare, finance, or tech.
  • Resolving disputes: Whether it's contract disagreements, intellectual property infringement, or employment issues, a business lawyer helps mediate, negotiate, or litigate on your behalf.

What Does a Business Lawyer Do?

Business lawyers provide a wide range of services that cater to different legal needs of a business. They can:

  • Help you choose the best legal structure for your business.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with employees, suppliers, customers, or business partners.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Advise on tax strategies to minimize your business's tax burden.
  • Assist with intellectual property protection, such as trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
  • Handle mergers, acquisitions, and business sales, ensuring all legal paperwork is in order.
  • Resolve disputes through negotiation, arbitration, or litigation.

How Are Business Lawyers Paid?

Business lawyers typically charge either by the hour or on a flat-fee basis, depending on the complexity of the work. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rates: The lawyer charges based on the time spent working on your case. Rates vary depending on the lawyer's experience and location.
  • Flat fees: For certain tasks, such as incorporating a business or drafting a standard contract, a lawyer may offer a flat fee.
  • Retainer: Some businesses may hire a lawyer on retainer, paying a fixed amount each month to have ongoing access to legal services.

The payment structure is often discussed during an initial consultation so you can choose the one that best suits your business needs and budget.

How Much Does a Business Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a business lawyer depends on factors such as:

  • The complexity of the legal issue: More complex matters, like mergers or intellectual property disputes, typically cost more than routine tasks like contract drafting.
  • The lawyer's experience and location: More experienced lawyers or those in larger cities often charge higher fees.
  • The nature of the billing arrangement: Hourly rates can range from $150 to $1,000 or more, depending on the lawyer's expertise. Flat fees are usually available for simpler matters like forming an LLC or drafting a standard contract.

It's essential to discuss fee structures upfront to avoid surprises.

Top Questions to Ask a Business Lawyer

Before hiring a business lawyer, ask the following questions during your consultation:

  1. What is your experience with businesses like mine?
Find out if the lawyer has handled legal issues for companies in your industry.
  2. What services do you offer?
Ensure the lawyer can meet all your business's legal needs, from contract drafting to dispute resolution.
  3. What are your fees, and how do you bill?
Get clarity on how you'll be charged - whether by the hour, flat fee, or retainer.
  4. How do you handle conflicts of interest?
Ask how the lawyer ensures there is no conflict in representing your business.
  5. Can you provide references from other business clients?
Speaking with past clients will give you an idea of the lawyer's expertise and professionalism.
  6. Do you have experience in my specific industry?
Industry-specific knowledge can be crucial, especially in highly regulated fields like healthcare or finance.

How to Check the Credibility of a Business Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable business lawyer:

  • Check state bar association records: Verify that the lawyer is in good standing and has no disciplinary actions against them.
  • Look for client reviews or testimonials: Online reviews, testimonials, or word of mouth from other business owners can provide insight into the lawyer's reliability and effectiveness.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should have satisfied clients who can vouch for their services.
  • Check professional memberships: Membership in respected legal organizations (such as the American Bar Association or a local business lawyer association) can signal credibility.
  • Review their website and professional profile: A well-established lawyer typically has a professional website showcasing their areas of expertise, credentials, and case success.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most out of your first consultation with a business lawyer, prepare the following:

  • A description of your business and its structure: This will help the lawyer understand your legal needs.
  • Any current contracts or agreements: If you're seeking contract advice, bring copies of existing contracts.
  • A list of legal issues or concerns: Be ready to discuss any potential legal challenges, such as regulatory compliance, disputes, or transactions.
  • Financial documents: If applicable, bring financial records related to the legal matter you're seeking help with.
  • Questions about fees and billing: Ensure you understand the lawyer’s payment structure and fees upfront.

By preparing these materials, you can ensure that your first meeting with a business lawyer is productive and informative.
