Me and my husband are very happy with our decision hiring Jeffrey as our lawyer.
We had to deal with seller's non-disclosures and we didn't really know where to start. At first we had a consultation with different lawyer, who charged us 150$ for a 30 minutes talk, was very unprofessional and left us with more questions than we had before. After that we decided to get a free consultation with Jeffrey, and were so pleased that he spent over an hour with us and was able to explain everything in details, answered all of our questions and suggested the directions we should be taking to solve this case. So we had no doubts that he is the right person for our case.
He handled entire process of a real estate litigation very professionally , and we were very impressed with how knowledgeable he is in this field. Did not send vital documents to reverse mortgage company. Death certificate, will, letter of intent for the family. All of the above must to be handle according to set guide lines by the mortgage company. If not, home can go into foreclosure and that is where are family is headed with home of the deceased. None of this was done.
Did not return phone calls, did not respond to letters sent in mail, including certified mail.
Took 3 months to have banking changed into estate account when told it would be a week. Only after having someone else to contact Mc Dowell did he show up at the bank. His reasons for not doing his job personal family problems with sharing details of his situation.
Requested how he was charging, a percentage of the estate, hourly, no response, no letter.
Requested a detail list of work completed by Mc Dowell to be sent to the family, nothing.
Only 1 letter was sent to mortgage company that was in Jan, telling them other than what the family had requested to possibly paying off debt to keep home and if not then place home up for sale.
After three and a half months with no response. Left detail messages with his assistant and secretary telling them how critical it was for him to respond to mortgage company and to the family he did not. Physically had to go to office to get families fie, and again his excuse family problems. There is no excuse.

He was supposed to be representing me in our divorce but he always did things so as "not to upset" my ex-husband. He was more concerned about the well being of my ex, not me. My younger son had been living with his father (and I was paying child support!) until he was told to find someplace else to live. When my son came to live with me, I asked Mr Opalka to stop the child support. He "kept forgetting" to do that and my ex continued to get the support money (which was automatically deducted from my paycheck). After 2 1/2 months I called Mr Opalka's partner and she immediately filed the papers. Mr Opalka dragged out my divorce MUCH longer than it should have been. When I spoke with his partner, she immediately filed the final divorce paperwork also and the divorce was finalized very soon afterwards. I paid him a LOT of money and he totally let me down!
