For the past 3.5 years, my wife and I have worked with an outstanding team at Berman & Simmons. On September 11, 2020, my wife suffered a preventable brain aneurysm that caused a stroke. Our elder care lawyer, Patti Nelson-Reade, referred us to Jodi Nofsinger at Berman & Simmons, who took on our case. I was referred to Tim by my divorce attorney to represent me on a separate legal matter. He reviewed the case and developed a strategy that resulted in two felony charges being dropped and a third reduced to a misdemeanor, through a differed disposition. I have never had an attorney who puts people before the money, as John does. Of course, he needs to be paid and should be paid top dollar but John doesn’t fit into the mold of a streotypical money-hungry/ cut-throat/ self-centered attorney. He’s wise and honest and will tell you the truth— not just what you want to hear— and, most of call, he actually cares and will take the time to listen and offer the best advice.

I was having issues with my credit report in regards to a derogatory record that did not belong to me and had been on my credit record for a year. Mr. Lapin reached out to me in a timely fashion and laid out the information he needed in order to handle the situation as quickly as possible. A certified letter was drafted and written to all parties involved to remove the negative record and Mr. Lapin kept me in the loop for every step of the process. I am still waiting to hear from the responses of the other parties in regards to the letter but at the moment, i feel like a burden has been lifted off my shoulders.

I simply can’t say enough good things about this guy. I put off calling him for the longest time, until a friend of mine, who had worked with his as well, finally gave me the push I needed. He was extremely compassionate and helpful, and made the whole process surprisingly smooth. On the day of the hearing I was fully prepared, all my ducks were in a row and I left with a massive burden lifted from my shoulders. My life is on a completely different course now. My only regret is that I didn’t call him sooner.

First off , in this high tech voice menu voice mail Sorry he's in a meeting world we live in ....It speaks volumes that Jason Litalien answers his own phone . Not even a secretary screening his calls . A booming voice that commands respect when he's representing you . The guy is knowledgeable in his craft and quick with answers . He's personable and accommodating to a fault . He is up on every new change in Maine when it occurs and contacted ME when it affected me . WHO DOES THAT ? He does have some faults , for instance .....his truck is a Ford . Mr. Mason was appointed to represent me on a couple of charges which i accrued while on probation. His performance as my attorney left nothing to be asked. He was reliable, responsive and genuinely cared about my case. I explained to him that my case was going to be a please because i committed my crimes. Despite this he insisted he needed to look over the case to see if he could find a defense. He was court appointed so i know it wasn't a bigger pay check he was after. He is the most genuine person I've come across in legal defense and would recommend him to anybody.

Attorney Mason was appointed to represent my nephew in a domestic violence matter. When you have to rely on a court appointed attorney, as in this case, you are always uncertain as to the quality and care you can expect. At this time we are in need of an attorney and we will definitely hire Mr. Mason and not take a chance on court appointment. With Mr. Mason we were more than pleased...quite surprised, in fact, concerning the time provided to this case. I believe it would be accurate to say that at least 90% of the time we were able to reach Mr. Mason with one phone call (oftentimes he answered personally!) which is rare indeed! We were always kept informed of the status of the case and Mr. Mason was always up to date and prompt, in spite of the fact that Rockland is almost 2 hours from Portland. We recommend James Michael Mason without reservation.
