I was the executor for a family member's estate, it was my first time as an executor and I lived 7 hours away from Modesto, so I was uncomfortable with the entire probate process. I found Ogden Law Firm through a Google search , so I thought it important that I capture my experience for others.

As executor for a family member's estate, I was referred to Ogden Law Firm through a retired trust attorney to handle the final trust administration.
After working with Ogden for several months and ultimately completing all of the complex issues surrounding the trust, I can confidently say that working with them was the right decision.
As someone in another review stated, they were like working with family. They had a sincere interest in taking care of our issues, addressing our questions and providing sound advice when needed. David Walker is a quality attorney with a great reputation. I’ve known Dave for my entire legal career. Dave is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of the law and has an amazing recall of specific cases and resources. In addition to being a great attorney he is an exceptional mediator. Mediation is always a tough part of legal work and Dave is excellent. His good reputation for mediation is known throughout the legal community, which is helpful when we collaborate. I refer Dave regularly, he is always in my top 2 or 3 when I am asked for a reference for local mediators.
Dave is the one that coined the phrase, “If you don’t have my cell phone, you certainly should.” With Dave it’s not just a phrase though, he means it. He’s always available.

In August of 2011 I was severely injured due to the negligence of a third party while on the job. The bills quickly began to pile up and it was nearly impossible to focus on healing while in a state of constant worry over my finances. Worker's Compensation pays only 60% of your salary. "Imagine losing 40% of your pay overnight." Experiencing a life changing injury is extremely complicated when dealing with insurance companies and their attorney's. I realized very quickly that I needed someone to protect me. Somebody that had a clear understanding of how to maneuver through all the fancy "Legal Jargon" and paperwork that was constantly put in front of me. I thought my company would look out for me. I thought my job was safe and they would do everything to help get me back on my feet and back to work. Harry was referred to me by a few friends who were introduced to him through their business ventures. I do not like lawyers because they like to cause more problems then solve them. This wasn't the case with this guy. He may not have all the answers right away, but he gets you the answers. He does not come up with excuses but rather tells you, the client, your options. He helps you make an informed decision and the long term consequences of such action. He is very attentive and responsive. I emailed him at 3 in the morning, and he responded within a few minutes! I thought it would be bad when I get the bill for such a late email and quick response, but he didn't even charge me as he felt that he didn't render any legal services.
He's a great person, and very personable and intelligent. He has a lot of experience and education under his belt but his very modest. This education and experience makes him my go to person for all my legal needs. He may not do a particular issue, but he has always given me direction on where I can go to get help. My recent needs required a family law attorney. Harry worked in Legal Aid and was familiar with Family Law and put me in contact with other experience professionals who were able to help.
His reputation with his fellow attorneys speaks for itself. Talking to other friends who have used him for their legal needs, I think he is very unique person and gives the legal profession a different meaning. I rarely write responses or reviews unless I have something to say. Harry is a great person and an attorney that cares. He would get back to me in a prompt manner with the answers I needed. He didn't even charge me for little things as he said it wasn't fair to bill me. How many times do you have an attorney say that? This made him shine in my eyes. After working with what appears to be a universally viewed terrible lawyer, Mr. Bains saved the day. I am so thankful I found him, and knew it was a good choice from our initial meeting.
Mr. Bains was always kind and receptive, yet straight forward and to the point, always maintaining a professional rapport. I never felt disrespected or that he was condescending to me, as I have experienced elsewhere. Other professionals expressed their admiration for his work when reading documents he wrote, such as a therapist I work with.
The other significant point is that Mr. Bains did not nickel and dime me. When the bill came, I was actually shocked in a good way, as it was multiple times lower than previous counsel I had employed. Mr. Bains is a stellar attorney and I would recommend him to anyone. Overall, I am extremely disappointed and upset with how Berg and Berg Accident Injury Lawyers handled my legal case. I was involved in a terrible automobile accident nearly two years ago. A knucklehead driver who was either texting or daydreaming or simply not paying attention rear ended me at approximately 60 mph on the highway when I was at a standstill due to traffic. When I woke up my truck was on the other side of the highway, completely totaled. I was dazed, confused and injured. I did not realize it at the time, but later on at the hospital, I was told that among other injuries, I had sustained a traumatic brain injury commonly called a concussion.
The California Highway Patrol completed the traffic accident paperwork, stating the other driver was 100% at fault.
Prior to this accident, I had maybe a total of 4-5 headaches in my entire life. After this automobile accident, I had non-stop headaches for weeks. My energy levels went to near zero. I repeatedly struggled with being unable to remain focused. After several months the headaches began to abate, but I still had on and off reoccurring headaches for over a one-year period.
After doing some reading and interviewing several different law firms, I chose Berg and Berg because of the many good reviews I read about them. They agreed to give me the 33% rate versus the 40% rate. They repeatedly assured me I would be in good hands. The people I began to interact with at Berg Injury Lawyers had phenomenal people skills: active listening skills, patient, kind, compassionate, caring and professional. At that time, I felt I couldn’t have found a better law firm to represent me.
Fast forward to today. Berg Injury Lawyers is asking me to settle for under $20,000. Even though I have $500,000 uninsured/under insured insurance policy, they are telling me I should settle for a measly $5,000 above the $15,000 policy the driver who hit me had. I did more reading and research. The average settlement in California for a concussion injury is between $40,000 and $120,000. Berg Lawyers has dropped the ball big time in my case.
Last, they assured me from the first day they would only receive a 33% rate on my settlement. Another lie. There were other hidden fees that went considerably above the 33% rate they assured me of in the beginning. I highly recommend people stay away from Berg Injury Lawyers. They have failed me miserably.

And there are no attorneys that will take malpractice suits against other attorneys. Attention to detail is lacking. Megan Ruble worked diligently to resolve my case. This case was extremely contentious and had been dragging on since 2010. After finally going to court myself, I gave up and asked my Union for a recommendation. They recommended Megan. Worker's Comp had refused any future medical; my only request. Megan was able to get me the much needed medical (both knees were severely injured) and an unexpected settlement. I can't explain how great a relief this is. I HIGHLY recommend Megan Ruble and her staff. On a scale of 1-10, she is a 20!
