As a CPA I work with a lot of attorneys, but none like Bruce Oakes at Oakes & Fosher, LLC. He handled the three-day arbitration for my mother with Alzheimer's. I attended the arbitration on her behalf and was questioned by both Mr. Oakes and the opposing attorney. Mr. Oakes was so compassionate in how he helped me through this difficult questioning from the opposing attorney. I highly recommend Susan as a divorce attorney. When my divorce process was going nowhere and I had a little over a month before pre-trial, I decided to call Susan to represent me. I was nervous about firing an attorney that had already spent 10 months working on what should have been a very simple dissolution of marriage. I have had to call upon the services of Mr. Tatlow/Bollwerk & Tatlow twice within the last few years for work related injuries. In both instances, he and his company went to work immediately on my case and took care of every aspect of the case(s) in a straightforward and professional matter. In my first case, my employers' attorney fought against a settlement, but eventually Mr. Tatlow's skills at the negotiating table won out, and I received a much higher settlement than I expected! In the second case, there was a settlement on the table within 6 months. Dnr has been accepting operating permits for concentrated animal feeding operations even when it is shown they are acting against the peoples needs to protect themselves and their environmental natural resources from potential pollution . Stephen has represented us against this giant issue and has gallantly put every best effort to protect us from this potential pollution by appealing dnr and helping create positive reform and protection against these cafos. He has true grit and fierce determination . In the appeal hearing i felt Stephen could have been the teacher of the other attorneys. Ed handled my initial divorce, and a few years later, handled my case again when there was an attempt to modify the custody and support settlement. Through the course of three pre-trial conferences, he kept me informed and gave excellent counsel. At the end of the third conference, we attempted to make a settlement offer, which was denied. We ended up going to trial. I wasn't all that excited it went so far, though that was due to the other involved party and not Ed. When we got to court, Ed was extremely prepared. We had so much information available for the judge to review, significantly moreso than the other party. And when it came to questioning the involved parties, I felt Ed did an excellent job of getting to the point, asking the most important and relevant questions. The judge found completely in our favor, and I know that had everything to do with how well prepared Ed was, and how he presented all the information in court. I would highly recommend Ed.

My journey through the judicial system in Illinois was not easy. My husband was attacked and later died from the injuries. The attacker was charged and after 5 plus years of trial postponements the attacker was acquitted. I couldn't find an attorney that would represent me in the civil suit until I found Luke. Luke took the case knowing it was not a slam dunk. When Joe (the attacker) was acquitted I expected Luke to tell me there was no hope for the civil suit and walk away. Instead Luke searched the court transcripts, connected the dots from the criminal trial and negotiated a settlement for me. During the process Luke kept me informed, he explained the difficulties of the case, what I could expect and really understood how difficult this process was for me. He guided me through the process making sure I didn't settle too soon for too little. The settlement can't bring Don back, nothing can. But now my family and I have closure and we can move forward. Honesty and integrity aren't two words that you use too often with lawyers, but Doug Biggs has both qualities. He handled my legal matter with great professionalism and effectiveness. I sent him a check for his services, but he did not receive it as expected. So I dropped off a second check. A few weeks later he received the original check due to a mix up with the postal service. He could have easily deposited the check, but instead he called to inform me that he finally received the original check. He shredded the check per my request. Thank you Mr. Biggs.
