Mr. Babyak was my lawyer in my divorce case. I had tons to choose from in Warren but I am very thankful I chose him. He is a very upfront individual and some people won't be able to handle that but to be honest, that is what was needed. There were times when I would get out in left field and he would call me and set me straight. Had I not done what he told me, I am positive my situation would have turned out completely bad. Having never been thru a divorce, it is an emotional rollercoaster and he kept me on the path I needed to be on. Motions that were filed against me, he had tossed out. Visitation that I wanted, he was able to get for me. Anything and everything that needed done, he was on top of it whereas my exes lawyer dragged his feet and procrastinated. I can't speak for everyone and their experiences but I truly feel he had my back and wanted what was right by me. I can honestly say without question, that he is recommended by me for someone going thru a divorce. 100% without hesitation.

Mr Babyak was appointed as guardian ad litem for my son. I am disabled under ADA. I had made reasonable accommodations requests, specifically to record all meetings, Mr Babyaks law firm stated Mr Babyak "didn't feel comfortable" with me recording. I tried to compromise and offered 2 more solutions. He refused both, stating the same reason, comfort aversions.
Upset, I made a Google review. Mr Babyak is now using his legal prowess to bully a disabled father. I removed my original review but now he is making a motion in my custody case to try and make me lose, all because I requested reasonable accommodations under ADA.
I would not suggest this law firm to anyone disabled or with disabled loved ones.
I will not be intimidated Mr Babyak. I, as a disabled person, have the right to reasonable accommodations in ALL facets of court.
I'll see u in court Mr Babyak. I refuse to be bullied for being disabled.

No, I DO NOT recommend Jack Alpern or the Alpern Law Firm! (Note: This is my opinion and no one else’s.)
Every estate planning trust should be able to withstand the test time. The original trust that Jack Alpern and his law firm created in 1987 and revised in 2001 HAS NOT withstood the test of time. Jack Alpern drafted a trust for my father that was supposed to protect my mother but more importantly was supposed to protect my special needs sister. I along with my other sister were appointed and accepted the roles of trustee for this trust. My father died in late 2002, the probate process began, an EIN number was created for the trust since my father's Social Security Number was now not valid anymore, and the trust completed its probate in early 2004. It was my understanding that the trust was to then become irrevocable now that my father who was the grantor was deceased. Money was put aside for just my mother and money was put aside for the trust that was to benefit my sister. My mother had control of her money and my sister and I had control of the money for the trust for my special needs sister. In addition, the home they lived in fell into the trust. The trust owns the home not my mother. Over the years the money to fund the trust and the value of the home have grown.
Fast forward now to 2023. My mother had to go into nursing home and is currently residing there as of today. My sister and I have began working with an attorney for the Medicaid Spend-down. My sister and I have now found out that it appears that the trust is not irrevocable but revocable. It also appears that the money that is in the actual trust could be counted for the Medicaid Spend-down along with the home that is in the trust. It appears now, that there could be no money to support my special needs sister and no home for her to live in if the trustees are forced use trust money to pay the nursing home and to sell the home for the Medicaid Spend-down. It appears that my special needs sister may need to live on just the pittance that she gets in Social Security and SSI once the government forces us to drain the trust.
This was NOT what my father or even my mother ever wanted. My special needs sister was NOT to be a financial burden to my sister or me. My special needs sister will be destitute because of Jack Alpern’s incompetence to set up the trust that my father envisioned.

I highly recommend NOT hiring this guy. He told me if I fired the attorney I already had, he would do more to help me. He took a large retainer and did not do what he promised to do.
He did things through the court without my knowledge and consent. I requested to meet with him to beg him to do the job he said he would do. When we met, he was insulting, rude, disrespectful and condescending. He laughed at me and made fun of my family. Having him as an attorney was a nightmare. When I finally had to fire him, his firm would not return any of the retainer.

Mike Ralphi called me back but I missed his call so I called him back he is very fast talking and cocky and rude and has a very smart mouth and was also loud. He is not a friendly attorney to the point I didn’t show up the next day to my appointment. I did not want to do business with someone with that kind of attitude. Plus he act like he didn’t want to do it anyways. Yes I agree it’s time for retirement.. I would not recommend at all so don’t waste your time.
