I called Patrick McPherson after a vehicle theft incident. I was immediate answered by Patrick and not a secretary or someone that had to put me on hold. I told him the situation and gave him the details, he never once made me feel stupid and explained in an easily understandable what to do. He assisted me in reaching out to the police officers and I ended up getting my vehicle back the same day. He also gave me advice on what to do with my insurance and how to handle the situation. Patrick made the process as simple and possible, helped greatly, and made a very stressful day a lot better. I would recommend this lawyer/law firm to anyone living in Oahu, Easily 5 stars.

I contacted Mr. Parsons about a medical malpractice matter and doing so was invaluable. Initially, I left a message and not only did he personally call me back promptly, but he then walked me through all of the legal issues that would arise under the circumstances. His counsel in that just that single call made it clear that I was dealing with a consummate professional. I cannot imagine going to any other attorney for a malpractice case.

Mr. Parsons provided expedient (we were under a severe time constraint) consultation service which analyzed and identified the issues involved in the claim. He was excellent in addressing both the highly emotional issues as well as the practical and legal issues. My experience with Jon Jacobs was nothing but exceptional. First my case was denied from the larger attorney offices but they suggested him. He listened to my case and took it on. He walked me through everything even while recovering from a brain injury. He was kind and understanding. He always checked in on my recovery process to see if I was making progress and doing well. He did not make me feel rushed at all and fought to make sure I received the compensation that was owed to me, while the insurance companies were trying to take advantage of me. 100% would recommend. Mark Gallagher genuinely cares about his clients. He took the time to listen, really listen while I shared what happened with him. Mr. Lawson was retained in late 2014 on behalf of our daughter after she sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) as the result of an automobile accident while on vacation in Hawaii. We live in Oregon. This case involved three different insurance companies and several individuals. It was a complicated case because the injury (TBI) cannot be observed externally.
This lawsuit dragged on from 2014 to July 2020 because each insurance company had to be convinced to settle. Mr. Lawson kept us appraised every step of the way. At certain points in the years long process it was discouraging. But with Mr. Lawson’s patience and perseverance a successful final settlement was reached.
Mr. Lawson was methodical in his planning and approach to help us obtain the best outcome. He engaged critical subject matter experts that really helped uncover all the facts and magnify the negligence in our daughter’s case. Even with the covid-19 problem in 2020, he managed to move the case forward. He never gave up and the outcome of the case was better than expected.
One great thing about Mr. Lawson is he genuinely cares. Through the years he was instrumental in recommending areas of treatment that we should investigate for our daughter. Not living in Hawaii made the lawsuit more difficult but Mr. Lawson’s excellent communications via text messaging, e-mails and phone conversations helped us through the entire process.
We will always be grateful that Mr. Lawson was on our side. He is highly recommended!!

Words can't express our gratitude for the level of professional (and personal) care we received from our attorney Bert Sakuda and his vastly knowledgeable legal assistant Tricia Etsler to legally advocate for my case of being a pedestrian hit in a crosswalk. Highly recommended by a former judge, Bert put our concerns increasingly at ease from the first meeting by his calm demeanor and extensive knowledge about my kind of trauma. After that first meeting, my wife simply said, "He knows what he's talking about" as she had years of managing cases for returning combat soldiers wounded in the Middle East.
Throughout the duration of the case, they were a source of reassurance with frequent communication in conference, emails, or phone calls. We felt encouraged whenever we talked on the phone.
From the start, my wife and I often felt the genuine care and empathy of the law firm went further than mere professionalism. The bottom line is Miyashita & O’Steen win the cases they accept and do so going above and beyond making sure they are serving their clients needs, not their own! In the broken world filled with obstacLes ofcomplex legal cases you somehow find yourself facing you need an intelligent group of fighters who have “your back” who know how to navigate the hurdles and complexities of a broken legal system.
As all cases are different and rather than bore you with the details of our families case in this review I think it is best to simply say that Miyashita & O’Steen don’t cut corners and they spend the time necessary to make sure you completely understand what transpires during the cases they accept. The process of setting up a trust is just that, a process, and having someone who will take the time to sit, explain, answer questions, and then answer more questions as you go through the trust setup process is really important.
Keoni spent a lot of time with us, answering questions that came up along the way, gave us the guidance we needed to make sure we thought of everything and everyone involved. He was flexible is scheduling follow up meetings, due to our very hectic work & travel schedules, it took a few weeks longer then planned, but we are not done and feel better knowing we are on the right track.

We approached Kevin in September of 2023 concerning immigration questions and the process of getting Permanent residence status for my partner. I had prior knowledge of the general process, having gone through it with my previous partner(now deceased) in 2013. I had a good lawyer at that time but that firm was no longer available to retain. What I did know is this: Only a fool would attempt going through the USA immigration process on their own.
Our first meeting with Kevin was very productive. I instinctively felt he was the right person to hire. We followed his advice to the letter and began the application process in March of 2024. There were many tricky questions on the application form that only could be successfully navigated by experienced folks, and Kevin was certainly an expert. He and his secretary Liz, were attentive, kind, thoughtful and patient. They responded quickly to any questions and were very, very organized in regards to all the paperwork required.
On the date of the interview in August of 2024, Kevin flew to Honolulu to be with us for the meeting. This is really, really important! Kevin knew the folks at the immigration department and they knew him. It was obvious from the start that Kevin was well respected by the immigration officers.
Our application was approved within a day of the interview despite the fact that our application was a bit more complicated than the usual type submitted.
At 75 years of age, I have had many experiences with Lawyers, not all of which have been positive. However, Kevin is the best lawyer I have ever worked with, giving
honor to a profession that often is not looked at favorably by the general public.
