My wife and I met with AJ in person to discuss our case. He did a wonderful job of setting expectations and answering all of our questions in the initial meeting. He kept in constant contact with us all the time letting us know next steps and any documentation that was required from us. We received an initial settlement offer from the insurance company which was low. Rather than settle for that offer AJ went back to the insurance company and was able to negotiate a larger settlement out of court. Bottom line AJ listens to his clients, is compassionate as our case involved our minor child, helped us keep our emotions in check, and got us results.

Choosing Mike DiCindio was the best option I ever made! From the first call I knew I had made the right decision. He made everything feel at ease and walked me through all possible outcomes. He advised I get ahead of the game with classes and courses, this was very helpful in the end. The process took almost a full year but Mike was able to get the best possible outcome for my situation. If I unfortunately ever get into another situation, he would be my first call! Thank you very much for everything!

Joel is very knowledgeable, intelligent, professional, and articulate. He guided me through a challenging period in my life. I had 2 DUI's and I contacted Joel. After we discussed my cases, I hired him. Joel was very responsive and always got back to me if I had questions or concerns. He was able to show the court that indeed I was an intelligent, productive member of society, who had psychiatric and emotional issues that lead to drinking. Furthermore, due to the DUI's I had a large insurance company come after me and Joel handled that challenge swiftly and carefully, and convinced the insurance company to drop their case. My parents and my wife all commented on how fortunate I am to have found Joel.

I came to Lehman Pastino for a car accident. I met this guy, "Michael Lehman," he was wearing shorts and just super casual. He paid attention to me, listened to my concerns and kept me informed every step of the way. I didn't even think I was going to sue when I was first in the accident but after the insurance company offered me a "dinner," for my trouble, Lehman Pastino got me enough money to start my own restaurant. I would highly recommend.

What can I say, I came to Lehman Pastino after being told by a "Philly" lawyer that my case was worth $15,000. They got me $250,000. I paid off my debts, bought a new car and life is just so much easier now. Lehman Pastino and Michael Lehman called me almost every week, texted me, and even helped me buy that car. They went above and beyond and even though I was hurt, I would never go anywhere but to them for all my legal matters. They treated me like family and didn't even know me.

A few years ago, I was in Massachusetts when I was involved in a severe car accident. This accident would require two extensive back surgeries and left me wearing a leg brace. A friend recomended I speak with John Sbarbaro. After a brief phone call, a meeting was promptly scheduled. John welcomed us into his office as if it were his home and spent several hours with us discussing my situation, never once looking at his watch. My intent was to visit two or three lawyers, but following our meeting, we knew we were in good hands. Throughout the entire process, John kept us informed of my status and consulted with me before making any decisions. If he wasn't availble to take my phone call, he would get back to me that very day. In regards to my accident, my decision to trust John was the best decision I could have made. Considering the accident was over 250 miles away in another state, my case would become increasingly complicated. John could have taken the easy route and settled my case almost immediately. Instead, John stayed the course and would secure a settlement for me in excess of $500,000.00. If you are in need of a lawyer that will have your back, John Sbarbaro is your man. Look no further.

This is not a typical personal injury law firm. Their videos do not resemble that of a Used Car Dealership. I first met Stephen over two years ago and his knowledge in Personal injury Law which he has shared with me is incredible. What is truly incredible is his willingness to share that information with anyone who calls. He is going to tell you the facts and save you from wasting your time. He has years of experience and knows a pie in the sky slip and fall case when he hears one. He knows how to demystify the laws and tell his clients when it is or is not a good time to represent themselves in the court of law. The man is very reasonable.

When I initially consulted Alex Silow to explain the details of my case, he seemed like a good fit as we had a similar take on both the situation and the plan of action. Unfortunately, our relationship soured quickly. I found him to be arrogant, rude, and self-serving. I learned to despise him even more than the lying cops and the low-life DA who cared nothing of my innocence, but only for the chance to bolster his record at my expense. They can all rot in hell and I hope they do. Silow interrupted me, and yelled at me repeatedly in the course of phone calls that should have been a calm back and forth discourse. There was no reason for such abhorrent behavior. I have never met anyone in any profession that talks to their clients like that. This is unacceptable in any setting. And he refused to believe me even though every word I said is true, which only complicated the case. Furthermore, it is my belief that he purposely failed to get the case dismissed in a pre-trial hearing, so that I would have to pay him another $2,500 to go to trial. If his pre-trial failure was not on purpose, then his defense was grossly incompetent. I was charged with theft. Fortunately, there was surveillance video of the entire incident, in which I picked a single piece of scrap wood out of a trash pile and put it back exactly where I found it in under 60 seconds. In order for that to be theft, by definition, there has to be "economic loss". So, after watching the video, the judge says "what's the difference between stealing a car and returning it the next day and stealing this piece of wood and returning it? Any decent attorney would have answered that taking a piece of wood from a demolished deck out of a scrap pile and putting it back within 60 seconds does not constitute "economic loss". Silow failed to do so. The judge held the charge over for trial and Silow put another $2,500 in his pocket, after which the DA, knowing he did not stand a chance at trail, promtly dropped the charges. This experience was a real eye opener about just how corrupt the criminal justice system is. Cops, judges and DAs need criminals (real or fabricated) to justify their cushy salaries from the county. And the defense lawyers are all too happy to extract every dollar they can from the defendant. It's a scam, and they're all in on it. Silow puts on a good act as if he cares, but he's about the $$$, not the client. Disclaimer. The above statements of opinion are just that, my opinion, not facts or accusations. Note: I did not just walk up radomly to a woodpile. I had worked on this property many times for the former owner, who is a building contractor, and believed that this wood belonged to him

Reached out 2 times, once in 2016 and again in 2023. Both for different cases. Both times I spoke to Mr. Kane over the phone and both times I had to follow up multiple times via email and phone calls. He never ended up calling back or following up for either case. Apparently my cases were not high priority enough or within his area of expertise. I will never know because he never followed up either time.

What a Car Accident Lawyer Can Do for You

A car accident lawyer specializes in representing individuals who have been injured in motor vehicle accidents. These lawyers help victims secure compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, property damage, pain and suffering, and other losses resulting from a car crash. They also negotiate with insurance companies, investigate the cause of the accident, and, if necessary, represent clients in court to ensure they receive fair compensation.

If you've been injured in a car accident - whether as a driver, passenger, cyclist, or pedestrian - a car accident lawyer can help protect your rights, navigate the insurance claims process, and ensure you receive the compensation you're entitled to.

When Should I Hire a Car Accident Lawyer?

Consider hiring a car accident lawyer in several situations, especially when the accident results in injuries, property damage, or disputes with the insurance company. Key situations include:

  • Serious injuries: If you’ve suffered significant injuries, such as broken bones, spinal injuries, or traumatic brain injuries, a lawyer can help you seek compensation for medical expenses, future treatment, and pain and suffering.
  • Disputes with the insurance company: If your insurance claim has been denied or the insurance company offers an unreasonably low settlement, a lawyer can negotiate on your behalf to ensure you get fair compensation.
  • Liability disputes: If the other driver’s insurance company is disputing fault or claiming you were partially at fault, a lawyer can gather evidence to prove the other party’s negligence.
  • Wrongful death: If a loved one was killed in a car accident, a lawyer can help the family pursue a wrongful death claim to recover compensation for funeral expenses, loss of companionship, and other damages.
  • Uninsured or underinsured driver: If the at-fault driver lacks sufficient insurance coverage, a lawyer can help you explore other compensation options, such as filing a claim with your own insurance company.
  • Complex cases: Accidents involving multiple vehicles, commercial trucks, or complicated circumstances require legal expertise to manage complexities and hold all responsible parties accountable.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process can help ensure that your rights are protected and that you receive the full compensation you deserve.

What Does a Car Accident Lawyer Do?

A car accident lawyer provides various legal services to help injured individuals pursue compensation for their injuries and losses. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Investigating the accident: Gathering evidence like police reports, witness statements, photos, and video footage to determine how the accident occurred and who was at fault.
  • Filing insurance claims: Assisting clients in filing claims with their insurance company and the at-fault driver’s insurer to ensure all necessary documentation is submitted correctly.
  • Negotiating settlements: Working with insurance adjusters to secure fair compensation for medical bills, property damage, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
  • Calculating damages: Determining the full extent of your damages, including current and future medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, lost income, and non-economic damages like pain and suffering.
  • Handling medical bills: Coordinating with healthcare providers to ensure your medical bills are paid and helping you avoid financial hardship during the claims process.
  • Filing lawsuits: If the insurance company refuses a fair settlement, the lawyer can file a lawsuit and represent you in court.
  • Representing you in court: Presenting your case before a judge and jury, providing evidence and witness testimony to prove negligence and your right to compensation.

How Are Car Accident Lawyers Paid?

Most car accident lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, meaning they only get paid if they win or settle your case. The key aspects include:

  • Contingency fee: The lawyer’s fee is typically between 25% and 40% of the total settlement or award. You won't pay upfront fees; the lawyer's payment comes from the compensation they recover for you.
  • No fee if no recovery: If the lawyer doesn’t secure compensation for you, you generally don't owe any legal fees.
  • Case expenses: You may be responsible for certain costs related to your case, such as filing fees or expert witness fees. These are usually deducted from the settlement after the lawyer's fee is paid.

Discuss the fee structure during your initial consultation to understand how much you'll owe if your case is successful.

How Much Does a Car Accident Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a car accident lawyer is generally based on the contingency fee arrangement. General estimates include:

  • Contingency fee percentage: Lawyers typically charge between 25% and 40% of the total settlement or award. For example, if you receive a $100,000 settlement and the lawyer's fee is 33%, the lawyer would receive $33,000, and you'd keep the remaining $67,000.
  • Case expenses: Additional costs such as court filing fees, expert witness costs, and administrative fees can range from $1,000 to $10,000 or more, depending on the case complexity.

Ensure you get a clear explanation of fees and expenses during your consultation.

Top Questions to Ask a Car Accident Lawyer

Before hiring a car accident lawyer, consider asking the following questions:

  1. What experience do you have with car accident cases?
Confirm the lawyer has handled cases similar to yours, especially involving serious injuries or complex liability issues.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Understand the contingency fee percentage and any additional costs you may incur.
  3. What is the likelihood of success in my case?
Seek an honest assessment of your case's strengths and potential challenges.
  4. How long will the process take?
Get an estimate of the timeline for settling or taking the case to trial.
  5. Will you handle my case personally?
Ensure you know who will be managing your case and their level of involvement.
  6. What kind of compensation can I expect?
Ask about the types of damages you may be entitled to, including medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.

How to Check the Credibility of a Car Accident Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Check their bar status: Verify with your state bar association that the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  • Review their experience: Look for specialization in personal injury and car accident cases.
  • Read client reviews: Consult platforms like Avvo or Martindale-Hubbell for testimonials and ratings.
  • Ask for references: Request contact information of previous clients willing to discuss their experience.
  • Check professional affiliations: Membership in organizations like the American Association for Justice (AAJ) indicates a commitment to the field.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To maximize the effectiveness of your initial meeting, bring the following:

  • Police report: A copy of the accident report filed by the police.
  • Medical records: Documentation of your injuries, treatments, and medical expenses.
  • Photos and videos: Any visual evidence from the accident scene and of your injuries.
  • Insurance information: Copies of your insurance policy and any correspondence with insurance companies.
  • Witness information: Contact details and statements from any witnesses.
  • List of questions: Prepared questions about your case and the legal process.

Being well-prepared helps the lawyer assess your case accurately and advise you on the best course of action.
