He represented me in an EEO dispute with my employer. They were playing very dirty & trying to destroy a professional reputation I spent more than 10 years building. The employer used lies, manipulations such as pressuring my subordinates to file complaints about me or loose their own jobs to create a reason to fire me because I refused to participate in the illegal & unethical business practices my superiors were demanding I participate in.
Mr. Beckham worked tirelessly to protect my job & my reputation by hitting the agency & the corrupt leadership from every angle possible, to include involving Congress & other federal officials in the matters that pertained to my employer's deliberate violations relating to federal laws & policies to include their attempts to force me to misuse taxpayer money.
Without Mr. Beckham's foresight and preparations of ten steps ahead of their next moves, I would have been another statistic of the whistle blower that got stomped by "the man".
But I am not, in fact I was compensated for the hell they put me through, the lies in my records were removed & the actions taken by this attorney had far reaching consequences for the leadership members who perpetrated this attack as the agency has now three years later been cleaned out of most of the major players at that federal agency.

I was lucky enough to be represented by Mr. Beckham in a criminal appeal (along with several other people he was representing in similar cases). I had been fined and sentenced to jail time beyond what was allowed by the law. Mr. Beckham did not stand for this! I learned, though my experience with him, that he is an honest and hardworking attorney who fights to get the best possible outcome for everyone he serves. He definitely proved this by the work he did my case (and from what I saw him do at the Court of Appeals in the other cases he argued on the same day). I was amazed when he prepared a 25-page written argument, on my behalf, which turned out to be irrefutable! And, when it came to the oral arguments in my case, he did an outstanding job when he took on the 3-Judge Panel at the Cheyenne River Sioux Court of Appeals. This is a hardworking attorney who I believe is a great legal thinker; it shows in his writing and arguing skills. I was lucky to have him in my corner fighting for me - I won.

He helped us file a Criminal Appeal Case that he won where Judge Gunville was retrying my son on a case that had already been dismissed. Save yourself and your money and *do not* give this firm, specifically Boyd Hawkins, your business. After I thoroughly explained the situation to the rather kind intake woman at their firm, Boyd took my consultation appointment at his rate of $150 per hour. Unfortunately, he clearly didn’t listen to a word I said during it, he kept going off long-winded tangents about matters that I was not there to discuss and I had to repeatedly ask him to stay on the actual topic. I cut the meeting as soon as it was glaringly apparent that I couldn’t trust him to represent me in this legal matter. He wasted over $100 hard earned dollars and even worse, MY TIME.

I hired Chuck and went from every other weekend visitations to sole legal and physical custody. It didn't happen over night, and it took diligence and perseverance from both of us and I couldn't have done it without his representation. In the nearly 2 years we have worked with Chuck we learned what a caring and honest man he is. He didn't tell us what we wanted to hear nor did he ever try to over inflate our expectations. When we talked with Chuck he always listened and asked questions. He also took notes of anything we had concerns about. He talked us back to reality when we had a hard day in court, and always made sure we knew what the next step was or what to expect. He always pushed to show our side of what was going on and made sure our concerns were voiced. Whenever we reached out to him he was always available even during covid, on the weekends or even after we finished. He would check in on our kids and how visitations went. Went there and they charged me $400 for an initial consultation…They stated that they advised me the cost in a e/m.
I searched my inbox, spam, deleted etc . And there was no record of the e/m.
I never would have agreed to $400 for an initial consultation.
I paid it that day. That was over two weeks ago.
They stated they were going to send me a list of requirements to move forward. They never did
I felt like they were milking me as they wanted to rewrite my entire trust.
Not very pleased with the professionalism of this firm and decided to move.
Update 10/23/24: I contacted Johnson May law and discussed the above issue. To my surprise they agreed it was an unfortunate misunderstanding and have offered a full refund of the consultation fee. I honestly did not expect that. I’m happy with the result and their kind understanding of the issue. They are good folks after all. Much appreciated!!!

I used her for my first custody case. She fails to protect your interest, she tells you what you want to hear even if it is untrue and she does a lot of shady billing. I remember later looking back at my bills and found she had charged me for drawing up the holiday schedule when my ex's attorney had actually dawn it up. She charged $100 for it. She lied to be on the phone and seemed to be more on my ex's side then mine. Even if I was in the wrong, which I wasn't because our case was in pretty much mutual agreement, she still seemed to be working for him instead of protecting my interests and mine are pretty severe as my ex can be volatile.

As my lawyer Doug was very aggressive and very proud of how combative he was with the judge and the other lawyer. His pitbull antics actually made my situation much worse and ended up costing me far more money and stretching out the case much longer than it had to be. He made the judge mad on several occasions because he thought he was smarter than the judge. He made the attorney on the other side mad because he thought he was smarter than the other attorney.
I filed a bar complaint against him and have thought about suing him for malpractice. He made my situation much worse, not better. I should have hired anyone but this guy.
