Through what was a painful, frustrating and difficult time, Gayle was such a calming presence who I always knew had my back. She took the time to get to know me and to understand my perspective and priorities. I never doubted for a second that she was working hard on my behalf and doing everything she could to achieve the best outcome for me. She was easy to talk with and extremely compassionate in her handling of my entire case. Gayle has provided excellent legal counsel to me over the past years. Though my outcome legally was favorable, I want to say I would still recommend Gayle even if it was not. I used Halleh in my divorce and custody case. She is knowledgable and thoughtful in her counsel. I felt that she truly wanted the best for me. Originally I started with a lawyer where when we showed up to the first court appearance the Judge shut us out didn’t let that attorney speak, and didn’t want to hear anything she had to say! I’m so glad she chose to transfer the case to Jessica Lasky. This amazing attorney came in like super woman throwing blows to the entire court system. Fortunately she is well experienced with the DA and knows a lot of things that normal attorneys aren’t familiar with. Everything started in early August and by Late November I had my life and freedom back forever. Working with Linda was incredible. I was at such a vulnerable place in my separation, and Linda made this so much easier. Obviously, no one wants to get divorced, and I was particularly shocked and emotional throughout the process. The most remarkable quality Linda had was just making me feel validated. She listened to me, was comforting to me, gave realistic solutions, and treated me with such kindness and empathy. She would take the time to ask about my daughter, my friends, my job, just because she cared and genuinely wanted the best for me. I’ll never forget how touched that made me feel, and is something I would never expect of an attorney. But she was more than a lawyer to me - instead a guiding force. I appreciate how she treated me like a person first - a friend, even, and how that made me feel more level headed to take on the divorce process with gusto.
Additionally, Linda was professional and fantastic at her job. She kept cost considerations in mind the entire time which was extra nice. Linda was always professional, had knowledge of the legal system that opposing counsel didn’t even seem to have, and always spoke honestly with me. She found solutions, got creative with me, and had my back through many frustrating situations in the divorce process.
I would absolutely recommend Linda to anyone getting divorced. For me, it helped that she wasn’t dissimilar to me - friendly, young, a motivator for other women, and at times even funny. :) She made the legal system accessible for me: someone who had never thought she would be in this situation.

I retained Zach as my attorney as I was in a custody battle after my divorce. I had been going it alone for about six months and although I felt I had a good case, there is always the "what if" Many factors regarding my case brought me to Zach. I had relocated to another state, had a new job, paperwork to locate and file, many things had to be addressed and considered. It was overwhelming.
From the moment I made the decision to get help, I knew that Zach was the attorney to represent me. The initial conversations we had by phone were comfortable and productive. The fact that I was 1400 miles away and that I was placing my children's future and well being in someone's hands was scary at first but Zach, I felt, was the one that could get it done for me.
The biggest concern I had was that I had given him less than 3 months to prepare. In that short amount of time he compiled all the documents, filed all the paperwork, conducted the interviews with the witnesses. He did that and so much more. When we entered the courtroom I was confident and WE were prepared. In court Zach was direct, to the point and was able to "paint the picture" for the Magistrate. He asked the right questions of every witness called to the stand and when the proceeding was complete there was no "what if" left in my mind.
When the court made their decision and I received the call from Zach that we had won, I knew I had made the right call. I cannot express enough my gratitude, nor the respect I have for Zach. I put my trust in him and he delivered. I could not be more pleased.

Mr. Stein was the second attorney I retained to represent my son in his very tumultuous divorce. The first attorney was on the case for five months and did absolutely nothing for my son. Heather is very excellent in what she does! In my previous case she got me alimony, child support and the parenting plan that I had purposed. She is very organized and just knows exactly what to say and do at the right times. There were a lot of things that I would have never thought of looking into like my ex-husbands income and she was on top of it and she ended up finding out that he was not disclosing all of his income. She made sure that I submitted everything timely and was great at communicating with me at all times. She ensured that in regards to a house that he was living in that he was ordered to refinance in his own name or short sale it and the vehicle he had that he was to refinance in his own name. I was also awarded half of his 401k, stocks and retirement that he had. Heather is an excellent lawyer and I would recommend her to anyone going through this.

Heather was extremely professional and helpful during my Child Custody case. I had my initial consultation with Heather and she helped me understand what the next several months-year would consist of and she let me know that it would be stressful but that it would pass. Katherine is a fantastic attorney, and one I would recommend to anyone struggling with a family law issue. It is my experience that there are very few attorneys that understand, or care to know, how to deal with the dynamics of a high conflict divorce with a psychologically impaired party. With one of those attorneys already hired, and exorbitant fees with little to show, I went to Marcy for a second opinion. She was professional, compassionate and well-educated on the judges, mediators and arbitrators that you might have assigned to you. She was quickly responsive to my calls and did not use assistants to screen for her. After going through an insurance settlement case and the stress of that, I then had the treat of going through a divorce soon afterwards. Oh, I also lost my car, businesses and house right around that time too. I was referred to Marcy by a friend who said she was known to be a "bulldog" in the courtroom. After meeting with her to assess if we were a good match or not, I had a very good feeling about her. My X husband and his attorney went to the extra lengths of deposing me for a divorce amongst other ridiculous steps to come to an agreement. Marcy was always more than prepared for every step of the way. The culminating moment of my divorce court date was entertaining as she made my husbands team look like the Three Stooges. She knows divorce law where my X's attorney had just changed over from ambulance chasing to suddenly "help women" in divorce as his website says. By the way, I would strongly advise not using Robert Biondino as instead of preparing for his client, instead, he yelled and screamed in the courtroom. It was like he thought he was in a wrestling match instead of a court of law.
Regardless, Marcy was professional, compassionate, fair in her pricing and yes, a "Bulldog" in the courtroom. Because of these attributes, this traumatic experience is behind me while my X is still paying up! I strongly recommend Marcy and her team!

Jennie was an extremely helpful attorney. I was in a very high conflict child custody case and Jennie did a great job at keeping me calm and helping me focus on the real matter at hand which was my son. I worked with Hillary back in the mid 90's to the around 2006. She was the best attorney I have had the pleasure of working with. She is very good at what she does, and that is looking at all the facts, and doing what needs to be done for the best interests of the child. She was amazing, and very straight and to the point about every aspect of the whole custody battle.
Her rates were very fair, and I was on a very tight budget and she worked with me to allow me to be able to fight for my son's rights, and my rights. She is an amazing and remarkable woman, and I have and still do recommend her many years later.

Now we all know that lawyers get a bad rep as is, but nothing compared to family law lawyers. There could be a whole thesaurus dedicated to the many not so nice words used to describe them.
With that, finding an actual attorney or firm who actually shows genuine care about their clients instead of dollar signs is a rarity so, when I say I hit the lottery with New Leaf, I'm not lying!!
Now I hit the lottery with New Leaf, but I hit the mega Powerball when Caroline H. took my case!! Not only was she down to earth and listened to me , but also, she was honest and sincere. She didn't make promises or make any outlandish guarantees. She set realistic outcomes and worked with me on what it is that I truly wanted out of this.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to obtain Caroline until the middle of this insanity due to some financial issues. None the less, she saw that I was being backed into a corner and was more than willing to stand next to me and fight this battle. And man, did she fight. She worked endless hours on this case, not only getting all everything together, but also was a huge support for me when I felt like it was spiraling out of control. I mean, hell, she even got a rose motion to be granted! If that doesn't show how absolutely incredible, intelligent, and meticulous she is about making sure every detail is accounted for and correct, I don't know what else will!
Today was the final ruling, and I couldn't be more thrilled with how it turned out. I got my baby!!! That is all that has truly mattered to me. From the first meeting, she knew that was all I cared about. She made sure we fought hard for him.

My experience with Allen Vellone Wolf Helfrich & Factor has been beyond great. They dug into the issues of my case and discovered things in my favor that go far beyond what other defendants in the same case appear to have missed or not seriously considered. My opinions of Jim Helfrich and Kate Sender go beyond my ability to express. The best I can say is that I trust them to do their absolute best, which I believe they have done. No bullshit.
They haven’t always told me what I want to hear, but they have always considered my opinion and that has been reflected in the things they have produced on my behalf. My case is not over, but they believe in me and have taken my side with the best they have to offer. Their rates are fair, and I have never had the feeling they were fabricating hours as so many law firms do, especially the law firm that is attacking me. I suspect I will have more to add to this review in the future.
