My company was downsizing and as a senior employee at retirement age, I lost my job. Knowing that I could not continue paying the high-cost permanent alimony that the court ordered years ago, I needed help. Mr Dorsey and his team helped dig me out of the messy trench my last 2 lawyers had left me in. I can’t begin to explain how bad my first few lawyers had screwed up my case and made me look bad against an abusive drug addict narcissist who could charm the pant suit off Hilary Clinton. Mr Dorsey took on my case and for the first time I actually felt like I could trust my lawyer. Unlike my last attorney who charged me an insane amount of money to screw me over, Mr Dorsey gave me a free consultation and always charged me honestly and fairly. He gave me his personal cell number for emergencies and him and his team were always very responsive to my calls and emails. He fought tooth and nail against one of the most dishonest and corrupt opposing councils I have ever seen! He is well known and honored around Jacksonville and St Augustine by many other esteemed lawyers and judges.

No one really wants to go through any family/custody battles. So when I was faced with this issues I had no choice but to retain an attorney. After numerous hours/days of research I found the Dorsey Law Firm.
I came to Mr. Dorsey with a lot of uncertainty with my impending custody case. During my consultation Mr. Dorsey was fully tuned in and very attentive. He answered every question I had very confidently. After I retained Mr. Dorsey, his team and himself started working on the case promptly. They filed an emergency motion and was able to get a hearing for temporary custody within a few weeks. I was granted temporary custody until the outcome of the final hearing.
In Preparation for the final hearing Mr. Dorsey and the team were with me every step of the way. They reassured me of the potential outcome, instilled confidence in myself and the direction of the case. During the final hearing Mr. Dorsey was very thorough, firm, and fully prepared. His cross examination skills, rebuttals, presentation, and delivery was superb.
As a result, I was grant 75% percent of time sharing. I have never felt better and once again I was stress free.

Joseph and his team are incredible. I was dealing with a long distance divorce/custody case, with homeschooled children. I'd had a couple of attorneys, only one of whom actually helped, but then things seemed to fall apart. I needed to make some changes because my children were not doing well.
Our plan hadn't been finalized yet, so time was of the essence.
A few other mommas, in a similar situation, recommended Joe. I consulted with a few attorneys, but none of them were willing to really listen. All of them left me feeling hopeless and very triggered. After years of psychological and emotional abuse, I wasn't in a place to be able to handle those types of attorneys.
Joe was different. He was careful, calm, kind, and compassionate, but still straightforward with no b.s. I felt safe. I think that's what all of us want, really. Joe stayed in communication with me. He didn't leave me hanging. He kept me informed, answered every question, and was patient through all of it. He didn't yell at me (yeah, that has happened before). He helped me see things that needed to be seen and understand from better perspectives.
It was a bonus that we saw eye to eye on some things and I didn't feel like I had to defend myself to him.

I posted a question regarding divorce proceedings that I am currently involved with and Ms. Drake was kind enough to answer me accordingly. I ended up messaging her and we began to communicate so I took the liberty of regurgitating my situation in detail regarding how I was mistreated by the Petition's Counsel.
She gave me solid advice and explained some differences in procedures from her jurisdiction versus mine. She didn't seem to mind that I just dumped a years worth of legal situations in her ear as she kindly and politely replied to me without judgement. I have had quite a few interactions with male attorneys and not too many interactions with female attorneys. I'm not attempting to make this a male/female battle but I am finding that there is something much better with regard to female attorneys. Male attorneys don's seem to take the time to actually read or listen to what one writes or speaks and Ms. Drake definitely read and listened to me because she answered my questions directly and to the point with clear and concise responses. She practices in Jacksonville Florida and does not venture out very far from her county's jurisdiction. If she did, I would very much consider retaining her as my counsel due to her attentiveness itself. Besides her photo displays a very warm and kind smile.

Very professional but compassionate. Efficient, prompt, dedicated, not just him but his entire team. We were referred to this lawyer by a previous Duval county (Florida) judge after the separation of the unwed parents of a child with the indication that the mother might leave the state with the child and will not return. Florida law does not grant legal rights to an unwed father until paternity, time-sharing and shared responsibilities are established in court.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the result of this temporary hearing, giving credit to Debra and Thomas Treece. We are still waiting for the final hearing and hope that the Treece law team will continue to represent us fairly and honestly.
The Treece law team does not shoot for bashing the opposite party. From the beginning on, it was clear that they want a fair and honest outcome with no lies and only honesty. The reason to seek help was to fairly establish legal rights for the father and do all we can to benefit the child. The Treece law team maintained to fairly reach an agreement and asked for the continuation of the child's primary parent, which is tough to establish if it is the father who performed most parental responsibilities.
One "thing" I would like to mention is that I wish that the Treece law team would be more readily available when the father has an IMMEDIATE legal question, due to the mother using unfair tactics, lies and accusations that are unwarranted. I would love to at times receive a quick, brief legal advise right then and there, though acknowledge that we are not their only clients.
If you are looking for an aggressive lawyer to bash your opponent, keep looking. If you are looking for an aggressive FAIR lawyer, "fighting" for what is the honest truth and the best for the child, you found a calm legal team working for you.

Once my daughter received an order from the court, my daughter interviewed with many other attorneys. They would only allow her to talk with them. Upon meeting Mrs. Treece, I felt an immediate connection to her and Mr. Treece. In my opinion, they are like family to us. They are very approachable as well as professional. My daughter who is a new attorney herself knew this case needed experienced attorneys that would give her their best efforts. According to my daughter at trial, they did just that. Cindi is a true advocate for her clients. She was contacted during a time of despair and even though she was skeptical at first of our concerns….she listened to us and sat down to go over our case. We had previously had a well known attorney out of Jacksonville. Unfortunately, he did not take the time to listen to us nor fight for what we knew could not be afforded. Cindi ended up locating the egregious mathematical errors that had resulted in the judge awarding the other party an outrageous monthly alimony payment (an alimony payment that was unable to be made due to other bills and obligations). She fought for what could be afforded…..which was no alimony….and she delivered! It’s been an extended, prolonged battle but in the end the outcome is much better than we could have ever anticipated!! Cindi is incredibly knowledgeable about the law and sets realistic expectations for what the judge is likely to award. She does not make empty promises. Her prices are also incredibly reasonable and if I’m being honest, she should raise her fees. Cindi’s rates are fair and she remains conscientious of her client’s budget (unlike many other attorneys out there who will bill you for every little thing and take unnecessary and unproductive steps just in order to create billable hours). Cindi also always keeps the childrens’ best interest at heart. She is genuinely compassionate about her job and you tell how much she loves family law with the effort that she puts in! I cannot recommend her enough! She has held our hand through this process and even though I know we are her client….I consider her a friend. I chose Brian Roberts as my lawyer because, in his words, he "is NOT the type of divorce attorney that pours gasoline on the fire." His intent is to separate two people fairly and as amicably as possible.
I have a 13-year old son who is my whole world. Often there is a misconception that fathers have zero rights for custody and visitation. This is incorrect. Fathers have equal rights, and the state of FL emphasizes the importance of both parents involved in their childrens' lives.
My divorce started out amicably, then descended into hell...as my wife hired an attorney who did nothing but "pour gasoline on the flames."
Brian really knows the law and how to fight the tactics adopted by "bottom feeder" lawyers interested in nothing but increasing their fees.
Brian and his Assistant helped me through this incredibly stressful period of my life...from keeping me informed of my rights, responding to my wife's lawyer's numerous attempts to delay and confuse the issue, and giving me last minute pointers one night when my visitation was threatened.

We came to Mr. Tupper for the adoption of a family member. Robert was awesome to work with. My case took years to resolve and i never felt out of the loop. I could always get ahold of him through text, calls, or emails. He took what we needed into account and always made sure we were able to get the treatment we needed for our injuries. In the long run we were able to settle right as the trial started and we are happy to have our future treatment and more secure. This firm did not go the distance. Do not and would never recommend this firm to do your case justice. First off be mindful of the name Porter Law “Firm.” Porter NEVER worked the case. We had no communication with Porter EVER. Even when requested that he take over the case because we didn’t feel that the case was being handled aggressively as we were promised when hired. Initially we had hope. Thatcher was on the case and he was always prompt, he showed up and answered questions, and he was confident. Then it all changed. First, the state attorney was reassigned from the case then Thatcher left the firm and the case was reassigned to Abuetello. Always late, it got to the point where we just asked when will you be there so we don’t have to wait for all the other cases, uncertain and never forthcoming with answers to questions and had to start over with the case because she was newly assigned in place of Thatcher. We brought up the request to try for entrapment only to be told “ that’s too hard of an angle.” A couple of depositions later, requests for more money and finally we could talk negotiations only the negotiations were null. Usually at the trial point you would think a couple of offers would be extended, no. We got 1 offer. Then Abuetello tells us she is leaving the firm and the state attorney is new to the case and it’s this offer or risking it to go to trial. What other option is there. We felt rushed and without options.Now we have a sentence of prison time… A paid lawyer got us what a public defender could have. Later received closing documents and additional requests for more money. Highly disappointed in this firm and would NEVER recommend.
