My elderly father and I met with Mr. Crouse to discuss asset protection. We found out early in our consultation that Mr. Crouse would not be able to help us going forward, because my father lives out of state, and he would need an attorney from his state to draw up the trust.
However, Mr. Crouse still spent over an hour with us, educating us about our options. He explained everything in a way that we could comprehend. He answered all of our questions and really made sure we understood. He could have easily sent us home, but didn’t!
I highly recommend Mr. Crouse. He’s extremely knowledgeable and you can absolutely tell he is passionate about his calling.

I hired Ben for a very long child custody battle for my daughter after hearing great things about him from a close family friend attorney. Throughout the whole process from the paternity test to the parenting plan, Ben was always doing whatever he could to make sure my little girl would have her daddy in her life. He led and guided me through the toughest time of my life; a time where I wasn't sure if I would get to see my little girl. Vanessa Samano is simply the best there is for child custody cases, specifically high conflict. I would highly recommend Vanessa for any type of divorce or family law case, but specifically if you have a need for representation for Juvenile Court. Vanessa has the relationships with the courts, judges, and other attorneys across East Tennessee. She is highly respected and knows the law, but mostly she cares about the families she represents. I could not have asked for someone who believed in me and my case more. She will be honest, even when it's not what you want to hear. She will encourage you to always do the right thing and to not just check boxes but legitimately follow through.
Vanessa helped me navigate a complex divorce followed by a difficult custody case in which I obtained primary custody. As a single Dad, this was not easy even though the facts were in my favor. My advice, without reservation, is to not just hire Vanessa Samano, but to listen to her and do what she says. If you are not willing to be honest or take responsibility, Vanessa is not for you. However, if you want someone to help you navigate a complex system in an honest but tough and caring way that puts the best interest of children first, then Vanessa is right for you. From our first phone call to the office, till our last court appearance Vanessa and everyone in the office was wonderful. Before you hire Jerrold L. Becker from this firm, you should understand what type of "attorney" he is.
In a recorded phone call conversation from our past "attorneys" Paul Wehmeier/Kim Burnette, Becker informed them his client was accusing my husband of answering our front door with gun raised at his clients acquaintance. If that was the case, husband would have been arrested as acquaintance was unarmed. As my husband told Paul/Kim the interaction was recorded as we RECORD everything (including 10 minutes before showing acquaintance on his clients property before coming to ours). Husband wasn't even home, my recording clearly shows acquaintance walking behind our house and me from our top deck asking them to leave-no weapon drawn thus this LIE could not be legally processed. This is just one of several questionable actions generated by Jerrold L. Becker intended to make us spend more on attorney fees.
Take our advise: Record everything with this firm as it will save you aggravation and money.
Before this firm responds negatively to this true review, reminder: We record everything including the phone call from Jerrold L. Becker to my husband in which he states his clients true intentions.

My husband and I were in the middle of a difficult child custody case. We had two previous attorneys yet our proceedings were not moving forward. We felt we were not being heard and wasn’t sure what direction to take. We hired Sam and immediately things began to change. Sam and his team worked vigorously for us and in the end we had a order in our favor and case closed. Sam will listen to your concerns and tell you your options. He is compassionate about his work and getting the best outcome for the children. His staff is top notch and your questions will not go unanswered. The contrast between the lawyer who represented my ex-wife and Sam, who represented me, was dramatic: her lawyer's idea of advocacy was to be confrontational (luring my ex to also become confrontational). She went after everything, no matter how small. She made empty threats. She did not question her clients claims and did not damp her unreasonable expectations. Why should she, she got paid either way. Sam, on the other hand, was firm but willing to negotiate and find solutions. He has a lot of experience, treated me and the opposing team with courtesy and respect, he took into consideration how a judge might rule, he did his research, he sought solutions, and developed a big picture plan which he executed, in consultation with me, in record time.
In the end my ex has a huge legal bill, and did not get more than what she deserved, and if she did, it was in consideration for our son.
The conclusions to be drawn are obvious. However, if you still have doubts concerning what type of lawyer you want, I would strongly, and without reservations, recommend you discuss your case with Sam before you decide.

Sam and his amazing staff assisted my husband and I in a custody modification of children from my previous marriage. Ultimately the modification ended in my husband being able to legally adopt my kids. Sam and the staff were always available to answer any questions that we had. They also always responded to emails. I started the modification journey with a different attorney that made us feel like we weren't getting heard and we constantly felt ignored. But switching to English Law Firm was the best decision we ever made. I highly recommend them to anyone that is needing assistance with divorce or child custody.

The attorney manipulated his client by not disclosing cost on his end and cost for supervised visits at $400 an hour. Kids are back in an unsafe environment since attorney refused to go to court. Paid $13,000.00 and came away with nothing. My children are in danger and this attorney only cares about money and how many cases he can close in a 3 month period.

Robert and Alysha are great and accomplished what a lot of people told me was almost impossible. I sold a car a few years ago and the person never registered the car and had an accident while it was still registered under me. Almost a year later I find of that my license was revoked. I didn't have proof that I had sold the car. I had over ten thousand dollars in damages that i would have to pay before getting my license back. They got everything cleaned up and I was able to get my license back. Thank you so much!!!!

Danny Garland is hands down the best attorney in Knoxville! With nearly 30 years of experience, he knows the law inside and out, and elegantly outwitted our opposition every time. I witnessed first-hand his positive rapport with local judges and other attorneys in town for being knowledgeable, ethical, and tireless in his pursuit of justice. Danny and his paralegal, Carolyn, work seamlessly as a team to ensure i’s are dotted and t’s are crossed on the mountain of paperwork required throughout the process. This included staying on top of petitions, counter-petitions, multiple contempt violations, hearings, depositions, interrogatories, and countless records entered as evidence during the trial. They both went far above and beyond my expectations in helping me to obtain a favorable outcome for both custody and child support. I truly became friends with both of them throughout the nearly year-long court battle in a very high-conflict co-parenting situation. My daughter’s father hired an extremely aggressive lawyer, and together they used every trick in the book to attempt to intimidate and bully me into submission. Danny encouraged me not to back down and gave me the confidence to keep fighting for what was best for her. Danny and Carolyn had my back unconditionally, coaching me through every step with empathy and patience. Mr Elrod filled in for the Anderson County Juvenile judge for a short time and he was amazing. Every kid, every trouble, ever file, he looked at with patience but firmness and he treated everyone with respect. I have so much respect and I hope he returns to Anderson County as an official.

I had a problem with a matter concerning child support and there was immediate urgency in the matter. Court was going to present my case within five days. By chance, I ran into Mr. Dupree and he reviewed my file. He listened and assessed my situation. Then he crafted a solution and told me what to do (He told me to do very few things - for the most part he worked his magic :-). Mr. Dupree went to court and got the child support matter dismissed.
If you want a great attorney who is extremely knowledgable of the law and skillful in executing a winning strategy for his clients, hire him. He is great at what he does. I recommend Mr. Dupree whole-heartedly in any aspect of the law.

Prepare for a long detailed review. They are worth it!!
During my long exstensive divorce...I found my circumstances were much more severe than expected. I reached out to a retired Knox Co. judge informing him my current dissatisfaction with the enigma of my case and previous attorney (NOT Luke) and the outcome of our future. The judge encouraged and edified Luke Shipley as the best and most qualified to get me the outcome that I needed for the protection and safety of my daughter and I. I hired Luke who at the time was with another law firm. I quickly noticed he was doing far more exstensive research, work, and digging then what was recorded on the law firms invoices. The complexity of my case was heart breaking and confusing. The paper trail alone was enough to cause high anxiety but not for Luke. Luke was fluid in his knowledge and expertise of the law able to stay ahead of the opponent. He brought in his powerful wife who was able to shed light on the criminal aspect of the case. I was beyond thankful when Luke and Megan began their own practice. By this time, Luke had already fixed the mess the previous attorney had made and began helping me undo all the emotional and mental control from my ex by shedding light on the truth and going to bat for me. He defended me, my daughter, and the law. Luke and Megan's code of ethics and financial practices are honest, hard working, and for the good of their clients. the front office lady I spoke to was WONDERFUL and helped me so much.
BUT Jennifer was awful. I waited 2 hours 3 different times to speak with her and she never called. She finally did call and the 30 minute phone call was only 11 minutes because she didn't know anything about getting custody and had to talk to one of her other supervisors. I was needing help, I was desperate and she did not have the urge to do anything she had told me. She was EXTREMELY rude on the phone call and it was unacceptable. I then days later after waiting got told that she couldn't help me and recommended me to just do it on my own. I do NOT recommend this law firm or better yet Jennifer. She was not good at all.

Mr. Brinson helped me so much through my divorce. It was not something I ever thought I would go through, and Mr. Brinson was kind and understanding throughout the process. He answered my questions in a way that helped me understand some complicated things, but never made me feel dumb. I was also in contact with Mr. Brinson often because of my many questions and concerns, and he never got impatient with me. He always took the time to talk to me without seeming to rush. I am disabled and Alex Brinson was assigned to me for divorce on a 30 year marriage from a husband that was controlling and abusive. When Alex told me he was dropping me because couldn't get husband served (even though husband in military) I didn't know what to do so I tried to find him myself (with backup assistance of course). When Alex found out he was extremely rude and told me I didn't act like an abused spouse and was a stalker. I cannot believe how rude and unprofessional this attorney was to me. He has no idea what I have been through and how controlling my husband was. I just want a divorce!!! Alex has no clue about military divorces nor what all was required when filing paperwork with the court. Don't expect him to go above and beyond for you or be professional. Mr. Fix was willing to look into and help me regarding my grandmothers estate. While I had trouble getting others to help or even listen, Mr. Fix actually took the time to look into the situation. He was willing to help sort out what was going on. He went above and beyond and helped me get answers. His assistance helped give me some closure and provided some much needed details into all that had occured.
If I had been able to move forward I undoubtedly would of hired Mr. Fix.

I hired Bill to help me with a probate case. He was very attentive at first but with time he began to not return my calls, emails and letters sent in the mail. I’ve called him for the last 6 months trying to get probate closed and he won’t even provide an excuse for the lack in communication. I’ve paid him in full, which I guess was my mistake.

the front office lady I spoke to was WONDERFUL and helped me so much.
BUT Jennifer was awful. I waited 2 hours 3 different times to speak with her and she never called. She finally did call and the 30 minute phone call was only 11 minutes because she didn't know anything about getting custody and had to talk to one of her other supervisors. I was needing help, I was desperate and she did not have the urge to do anything she had told me. She was EXTREMELY rude on the phone call and it was unacceptable. I then days later after waiting got told that she couldn't help me and recommended me to just do it on my own. I do NOT recommend this law firm or better yet Jennifer. She was not good at all.
