Attorney Nawrocki deserves more than 5 stars! Family court can be an overwhelming experience and he has navigated me through it with ease. I have hired attorneys in the past and was left with the feeling that my voice didn't matter. Being charged for the smallest things, even making a single copy and postage to mail a letter, seemed to be more of a priority. I had the exact opposite experience with Ms. Baluch. She really listened to me, fought for what I wanted, and didn't nickel and dime me for every little thing which was appreciated. I got in touch with Attorney Ray based on his reviews and that little voice inside us all. I had a very ugly divorce that most other attorneys were afraid to take on, Attorney Ray went to work and got my ugly divorce done in short order, against a tough opposing attorney. Attorney Ray is the real deal. He is professional, to the point, very knowledgeable, and doesn't mince words, if you are looking for sugar coating he isn't your guy. I literally had one of the most difficult cases known to family court with a bitter ex that made up lies and dragged me into court yearly for 16years of false allegations and manipulation to the point I almost lost my son. Ali didn't only fight hard for me, she was always there when I needed her. It was never about the money. She genuinely cared about me. I failed to do my part as a client and I could still count on her. Even though the outcome wasn't in my favor that wasn't her fault. That was mine. She faught hard and honest. She was there for me. I had to deal with a situation that existed in both family court as well as criminal court. Right away Ali was both informative and empathetic. As a professional, she knows how the legal system works. Ali spent time 'on the other side' as a prosecutor, which I felt gave her an inside understanding of not only how the prosecution operates, but of what judges want and look for in a case. Ali informed myself and my wife right away to initiate things like counseling and parenting classes and not to wait for that to be ordered. 1) Because you don't want to get MONTHS into your case and then have the system spring something on you that you could have been doing all that time and 2) It shows that you're pro-active in your case. She never painted a picture of unrealistic expectations and yet, at the same time, she managed to stoke the fires of hope and resolve. The above mentioned advice alone probably shaved 3-4 months off of my family court case. It's little things like that that become big things that Ali has an inside understanding of.
As a person, Ali took a personal interest in me and my family. She readily viewed pictures of my kids and even helped my eldest with a few decisions about college. Ali is a genuine person and she really does care.
To be frank, the court system is hell. Pick one reason or pick several, it's a sea of hell. Ali acted as a legal compass through it all.
I don't give this review with any amount of light heartedness. DCFS came and took my youngest son into state custody for over 1 year. In my heart I truly feel that if it had not been for Ali Leonard, that time would have been excruciatingly longer or worse, they may not have returned him at all. It's via her strength, her knowledge and her determination that I have my son today and my family is whole. Even when my monetary debt reads zero, I will never be able to truly pay her back. Thompson is not worth your time and money. He believes the slander from unethical peers rather than the facts and truth of the case and his client's best interests. He will allow you to suffer further due to his negligence, while charging you nonetheless, then drop you due to the damage his negligence caused without accomplishing what he was retained for. He will argue with you, further slandering and damaging you, to defend himself rather than admit any wrong doing. He is not in it to work. He wants easy cases that he will decide what is best for him, not you.

$3,500 dollars down the drain from a lack of communication, false promises, and excuses of why it took 4.5 months to write a motion/petition to modify parental allocation which oddly referred to me as the mother (she/her) in the language. I switched counsel because of no movement and had $200 left from my retainer which was never reimbursed even after calling the firm’s office asking for payment. Moreover, she was unprepared for court and got talked over by the other party’s lawyer. I got the results I was looking for elsewhere.

Going through a contentious custody modification. He was on top of everything and communicative. He is a master at negotiation and ended up getting everything I had asked for.

Attorney Teeter presents himself as a "kind hearted" attorney. However, once contracted as a client, I began feeling treated like a paralegal. I was doing multiple errands, compiling case deciding documents, and even negotiated my case settlement meetings. Jim would "snap" and yell at me often and unexpectedly when I assumed he was stressed or aggravated with the case. I observed him once "shaking" as we stood before the judge as the opposing attorney was attacking his legal professionalism.
He made sure to consistently send me legal bills, but who wouldn't. However, in my case, I feel he did not deserve his pay.

I needed to get custody of my grandkids asap to get them out of a bad situation. My grandson was homeless and his sister was just in a horrible home situation. Nicole Beran explained what would happen and it definitely did. She fought for custody and stood her ground. She told me many times to ignore the threats from my son n law and his Atty, we were gon a get my grandkids and she was right. Nicole was always direct and to the point. She didn't let court drag out or get messy. It was done and over with in a good time manner.

Nicole and the Epstein office were nothing but disappointing. The biggest waste of time and money and in the end, I had to find a new attorney. Nicole would take weeks to months to return emails and calls. I was never informed of upcoming court dates or what happened at each court date that she attended. I was completely clueless about my case. The few occasions I did get in contact with Nicole, she used excuses such as “sorry for the delay in communication, I am extremely busy” or “ I am really working hard on a game plan for your case and will contact you soon”. Nicole has completely failed in serving as an attorney and should have her license in the state of Illinois banned. I have read several reviews now and all seem to be similar to my god awful experience. For the sake of avoiding crippling depression, do not hire this law firm to represent you in any legal matter.
