Steven and his team were extremely responsive to my questions and concerns.
There was not a time that Steven did not respond to any of my questions the same day. It took 18 months for my case to be settled and he kept in the loop the entire time.

I thought I could handle my divorce amicably by myself, but my ex husband’s family attorney (who hates me) hired the most expensive and viscous divorce lawyers in New York to make the divorce as contentious as possible for me.
My situation didn’t improve until a dear family friend recommended Rona to me. She immediately assuaged all of my concerns and fought hard for me and I ended up with a better settlement in the process.
Rona made the best of a bad situation and I will recommend her to everyone. She’s also a very nice person.

I choose Gail to help me with a visitation petition. I first spoke with her on the phone and she was so empathetic to my situation and fully understood everything I was going through. I had spoken to Michael about a potential custody hearing and he was very methodical throughout the entire ordeal. He broke down what I needed to do and did not just humor me when I asked what our chances were. I end up hiring him and have no regrets whatsoever. With his help, both myself and the mother of my child were able to come to an amicable arrangement. In addition, Michael was very considerate of my budget and mindful of how stressful the whole situation was for someone who did not have much prior experience with the court system. Being a parent is the greatest gift in life and no one ever wants to be in the position where the other parent of their child is in a place where they don't feel safe having their child with them and having them be able to make (or stand in the way of you making) important decisions for them. When that day came for me, and I knew I needed to file for sole custody and knew I needed an attorney to help, I came to Ryan. He guided me clearly on being articulate my concerns and helped me to set realistic expectations for what to expect from the process. He knew what I was unwilling to waiver on, and guided me through the process of making the best decisions for my child. He spoke with opposing counsel and was able to negotiate thru all the open terms. In the end, I now have sole custody and know I could not have gotten through the process without Ryan.

Ryan is not only a highly competent attorney, he is a very compassionate and caring human being! He guided me through a protracted and contentious divorce with the utmost patience and attention to detail. Mr. Elliot was spectacular as my lawyer. He was competent, friendly and the voice of reason during my divorce. Tom was clear and concise in explaining the law to me, was always there when I called or needed him and he seemed to really care about my case. Tom talked me off the ledge a couple of times, and I really appreciated that. very thorough in breaking things down so that even a simpleton like me understood what was going on! I was referred to Tom Elliot in 2015. I had just moved back home to NY from CA and was dealing with an alcoholichusband. Sadly, I realized it was time to consult with someone to help me navigate a separation and potential divorce. Tom was a blessing. In addition to being a very smart and capable attorney, he was caring, compassionate and patient. Jill Altarac is the best divorce attorney in New York, the USA and possible the World! I am blessed, privileged and honored to have had her on my side. I hired Jill in March 2020 to represent me regarding a non-reconciliation marriage and subsequent separation. It was very contentious but Jill did everything within her power to keep a capsizing ship afloat bringing it to satisfactory conclusion.
From 2020 to date, I have had and still have absolute confidence in her ability to provide wise and excellent advice. Every instruction that she has proposed over these two years were transparent and successful.

I learned of Mr. Kusnetz services after my divorces was finalized but I wish I had Mr. Kusnetz from day one. His firm has been tremendous in helping me with some of the things I didn’t original consider when my uncontested divorce was done by another firm. He has helped me with all of my post-divorce issues such as visitation with my son and my child support obligations. He is a true partner who has been there for me providing solid advice every step of the way. He has also provided me with advice on getting my house sold and brought in one of his many competent associates to further move things along. I am truly grateful for the service he has provided me and his willingness to put in the extra effort that makes me feel at ease with such a stressful situation. Phil Kusnetz is an attorney like no other. From the moment I calls his office, I knew this was the attorney for me. My case was dismissed years ago on the issue of grounds. I felt like there was no hope.
Phil explained no fault divorce and answered all questions. I was particular impressed with his confident attitude, and reassuring tone. A few months later, my case was settled and I received a significant distributed award. You will not find a better lawyer at any price.

This past August, Phillip Kusnetz represented me in a case that took place in Family Court. Although I cannot discuss the specific details of the case, Mr Kusnetz represented me in a professional, zealous manner. He was able to have the case withdrawn and settled the case in my favor.

I completely lost faith in all lawyers, but Richard Feinberg managed to rebuild my trust and helped me to navigate through my complicated divorce. Finding a reliable, honest and dedicated attorney is not an easy task. The process itself can be as tiresome, complicated and confusing. Richard Feinberg put my mind at ease by clearly explaining my options and providing sound legal advice on how to proceed—always mindful that my son was involved. I had the good fortune to meet Mrs. Levitan when she and my mother, Dr. Jeanne Pizzo, were working with the New Democratic Coalition. A few years later an "Rx Drug Abuse Issue" led to my own brush with the criminal justice system and Mrs. Levitan and her associates handed it brilliantly. I did what I was mandated to do and, consequently, I do not have ANY criminal record at all. I learned from my mistakes and am now a successful career English educator, complete with a PhD from Mrs. Levitan's alma mater, NYU. I recall observing her in Court. Now that I've been honored by my colleagues as a "Master Teacher" and "Teacher of the Year" several times, I KNOW what peer recognition feels like — and that's what I felt when Mrs. Levitan was arguing a case. She negotiated with the DA's office and then negotiated some more and achieved a plea bargain (Disorderly Person) that was a galaxy away from the original charges, provided I did what I was mandated to do. I did and I can honestly say that without this outstanding attorney, I would have had a Felony record and forever have been ineligible to obtain teaching or administrative credentials. Inspired by her example, I've always out my students or the teachers and administrators I supervise first, ahead of the political miasma the DOE and it's inept Chancellors prefer. Mrs. Levitan taught me me to stand up for children as she does for her clients. I did counseling internship at Covenant House and used the research and reporting skills learned as a Journalism major and a reporter on one of the "top 10" circulating dailies to work around the system. I'm proud of my work in counseling, teacher education and the teaching of English. None of his would have been possiblewithout Mrs. Levitna;s intervention

Katherine was my divorce attorney and I don't feel she represented my best interests with any sincerity and her focus was on billing until I was wrung dry, at which point, she dumped me as a client against my wishes. In the long run, she did me a favor but at the time it was very stressful and I was left unrespresented because I couldn't afford to lay out another retainer, as she was aware.
She was not successful in securing a good deal with the other side, repeatedly brushed off my concerns and didn't bother to inform me of any strategy or what to expect. Her "bedside manner" was pitiful.
When I had a status conference coming up again, she threatened that if I did not come up with the balance several days in advance that she would not go on my behalf. I scraped up most of it but could not come up with the entire amount. She accepted that and seemed ok with the small balance left.
She went in to the conference and announced to the lawyer, court clerk and judge that she would not be represnting me further, without having informed me. Afterwards, she explained to me what had transpired, urged me to take the paltry offer from the other side and only then let me know that she wanted off my case because I had lost faith in her. I told her that we did not need to like each other in order to continue, should be keep things professional and that I had no recourse to replace her as my funds were dry. If perhaps she had secured spoousal support from my ex who earned far more than I did, I could have afforded to pay her but she was not interested in pursuing that. She did not seem to care about the dire financial situation I was in and had ignored my suggestions that she try to get court ordered compensation from the other side as well. I knew this was possible from other separated people I knew in simiar situations on both counts.
It had been approximately 6 months since forward progress had been made in our case. I kept paying for status conferences and to only keep hearing how the other attorney does not return calls. The offer she was suggesting I consider was ridiculously low and I truly believe she wanted to move on to someone with deeper pockets and had lost interest in my case.
I asked her not to take herself off my case because I needed representation and she said if I did not sign to allow it, she would go to court and would get the judge to let her off anyway. She agreed to waive her fee for the last court appearance because if I had known she was quitting, I would not have wanted her speaking on my behalf. I felt coerced into letting her resign.
I am now being pursued for the balance on my account at a larger amount than agreed. I offered her a settlement but instead she hired a lawyer to pursue it in court. That feels like bullying again from someone who knows the law against someone who cannot afford professional representation.
I was referred to her because my prior attorney made a large financial mistake that, luckily, I caught when discussing it with someone who was more experienced than I am. The person who referred her said she would fight for me and be a pit bull. Unfortnately, rather than feel like she was representing me, I felt that she was fighting me rather than fighting for me.
In the end, she did me a favor because I represented myself and got a far more favorable deal than she had pushed me to take. It involves retirement funds which I can't touch yet so that doesn't help me with affording her current bill, which is higher than she last agreed to accept. I was stressed about going in on my trial date without a lawyer for almost 6 months. Divorce is stressful enough already but she left me to feel defenseless for months, literally.
