Susan Ford helped me prepare for a small claims case (where I represented my company) for a customer that sued us for nearly $5,000. Before hiring Susan I had checked with two other lawyers but I did not feel confident. Susan helped with both the mediation and the final court hearing. The only thing worse than a custody battle is a custody battle throughout Covid. The courts were a nightmare and the process was so broken. With all of that said, Jonathan Corey guided me through it with poise, grace, patience, and professionalism. Without his guidance I cannot imagine how I would have gotten through it all. It was clear from the start that I could trust Jonathan throughout the process. Whenever anything seemed dire, he was able to calm my nerves by knowing the best play to lead with or react with. My situation was more complicated than usual, and I needed a well-experienced attorney who I could trust to leave my case in his hand. I have been involved in a very challenging case with very significant mental health problems of the other parent that, unfortunately, continue to impact the life of a child.
I was initially referred to Mr. Newsom from a friend and was a bit hesitant at first with all of the attorneys I met with. Upon meeting Mr. Newsom and discussing our case, I quickly found that he was there for the right reasons and was vastly skilled in areas that I needed the most support in.
He is able to keep a level head in very challenging situations which, in turn, allows him to see the big picture to not only focus on immediate needs but also the 'long game'. He is incredibly skilled in drafting responses and documents as well as seeing areas that you, the client, may need to improve and will direct you to appropriate coaching or resources that will benefit your family and, most importantly, your child. He is 'soft' when it's needed yet will stand strong when the time dictates and always keeps the child's interest as the ultimate goal, which was so important to me.
He is skilled in the overall strategy, timing of communications, mediation, litigation, and guiding other professionals that may be involved in your case. From the moment I talked to Jessica on the phone for my initial consultation, to the moment I received the notice of termination of attorney/client relationship following my divorce, I felt heard, empowered, and respected. Jessica was recommended to me by U.S. Department of State's office as one of the experienced lawyers dealing in international family cases, and I have many times since thought what stroke of luck or faith it was as I can not imagine having a better advocate and counsel on my side through what was not an easy legal process.

I started my divorce process in mid 2020, what a time to have to go through this process. But I don't think there's really a "good" time for such a thing.
The original attorney I teamed up with at the beginning of my divorce, Myah Kehoe (Kehoe Moneyhun Law, LLC) which I recommend as well. That attorney recommended a handful of attorneys based on the particulars of my case. After consulting with each of these attorneys, I decided upon Jennifer (Jenny) Eadie and I'm glad I made that decision. My case was protracted (likely due to the pandemic), involving a non-responsive other party, and a lack of willingness to compromise. Jenny was highly skilled at taking over the case, getting up to speed, and communicating with both parties in a timely fashion. Jenny helped bring my case to a resolution and a positive outcome. If you want an attorney that's patient, polite, and efficient; then look no further. Jenny is it, I highly recommend Jenny Eadie as an attorney.

Root, and her Gevurtz Menashe team (Associate Attorney Tracy Connor and Legal Assistants Linda and Marie) for their collective expertise, efforts, professionalism, patience, and understanding throughout their work on my legal case.
It had been both confusing and stressful over the years, as I had initially attempted to get legal help to resolve problems in the original paperwork from other legal counsel, with no luck. In a final attempt, I feel very fortunate to have found and received the legal help and guidance from Ms. Root and her team. We worked through several challenging obstacles, explaining legal terms and steps required along the way, and then ultimately receiving the required military calculation information for final negotiations and terms of the final documents. The goal was to file clarifying divorce military benefits paperwork, for the outcome of a revised court order to receive these benefits. After much effort by all, we received this new court order.
In the beginning, I also stated that I wanted a first priority placed on keeping my kids out of the entire process, out of respect and sensitivity for them, as they should not be caught in the middle of this situation. Kathy Root was the stable behind my dramatic divorce 13 years ago/ which is still proceeding with other issues to this day. Alex is professional, knowledgable and personal. Considering that divorced family dynamics can be a bit challenging at times, Alex was able to keep things in perspective in a constantly changing family dynamic and she often noticed things that I did not see being so wrapped up in the difficulty; because of this, she was able to help guide the process along with efficiency, capability, knowledge and understanding. Marissa Roldan took over my case mid-way and that was pending to be litigated in court in a very contentious lawsuit. Marissa helped me with the last (I hope) of a series of many family / parenting plan matters that Easley Law represented me on throughout the years.
Marissa quickly got up to speed on my case, the scope of the matter at hand, and the nuances and challenges with the opposing party.
Marissa provided solutions and counsel with creativity and realistic approaches with great competence. She managed opposing counsel with respect and collegiality, yet very adeptly and assertively on my case's behalf.
I also appreciate that Marissa was humble enough to research matters to ensure she had the latest and best information. My case included some uniqueness that required some extra research, and her assessment and subsequent strategy was right on, leaving opposing counsel's client without loopholes that were not in our child's best interest.
Marissa's was assertive yet tactful, and I feel that she effectively led the process along without excessive costs or time, despite backups and delays on the opposing side and large court backlogs.
When needed, Marissa could handily, kindly, and respectfully explain things that became frustrating or not realistic to me, and kept the case moving as effectively as possible. I recently used Ms. Kane in a family law case and I was pleasantly surprised at her down to earth demeanor and her willingness and ability to translate pages of legal jargon into everyday language that I could understand. Her ethics are impeccable and I feel like her billing was reasonable and detailed (unlike other attorneys that I have had). Shawn and his firm helped me navigate through a difficult divorce. He was able to thoroughly explain the divorce landscape as it's handled in the state of Oregon. I found this very helpful since the majority of my life was spent residing in other states that handled divorces much differently. I hired Michael upon making the decision to leave a very devious partner. I knew the divorce and related custody, support and parenting plan issues would be likely result in a long and trying process. I'm really not sure how there are even any negative reviews on here about Tom at all. There is not one thing in either of those reviews that even slightly resembles my experiences with Tom.
I initially hired Tom several years back to gain access to my daughter. Since my daughter's birth, her mother refused to let me see her. I was young and naive and paralyzed by the legal system. I have no idea how to navigate the courts and gain access to my daughter. I tried to file a motion on my own and could not even get the paperwork filled out correctly to get my motion into court and of course the court clerks cannot offer legal advice or make suggestions.
I didn't make good money and I had spoke with a few attorneys to get an idea of cost. I was quoted 15,000-25,000. One attorney wanted a $7,500 retainer and the other wanted $10,000. I was crushed.
I was referred to Tom by a friend and I had a consultation with him. He told me how he could help me and outlined a plan of action. He was very confident that he would gain me access to my daughter. The cost he estimated was much less than the other attorney's and quite frankly he seemed much more knowledgeable and competent than the other two attorneys I had met with.
The retainer is what really made this possible for me. Tom's retainer was very reasonable and allowed me to afford his services even with my lower income job. He went right into action and we filed for Custody/Visitation. I had questions all along the way and he gave me detailed and informed answers. As nerve racking as going court can be I was actually very confident with the whole ordeal with Tom as my council.
I was aware a healthy amount of parenting time and have a fantastic relationship with my daughter today. It was a rough go at first but it was the best decision I have ever made. I only wish I met Tom earlier.
Last year I called on Tom again for legal help. I was getting divorced and hired Tom to represent me. The whole thing was resolved in less than a month. I got to keep my house... if you know what I'm saying. I'm really thankful to have met Tom.
I've heaped enough praise on Tom. I also wanted to comment on his staff. His assistant Alex actually was very helpful during this whole process as well. I spoke with him on a few occasions when Tom was not available and Alex knew all the details about my case and had answers to many of my questions.
I don't leave too many reviews on the internet. Mostly because my time is important to me and I can think of 100 things I'd rather be doing, like riding dirt bikes with my daughter or going taking her fishing. Well, I wouldn't be able to do those things without Tom's help so I wanted to take the time to share my experience.
I happily recommend Tom Brasier to friends and family, and anyone taking the time to read this.

Recently, my old settlement had to be reopened and I hired a lawyer. What I learned from this new attorney is that I had learned very little from my first round with Mr Brasier years ago. When working with him he would get impatient when I had questions. He even left me a frustrated and unprofessional message about not having reloaded my retainer yet when I actually had (he just hadn’t communicated with his secretary). Years later, I’m finding out that my settlement is poorly written, a result of both attorneys involved, with ambiguities in the language that are creating problems for me and costing me more money. I’m learning from my current attorney about rights I’ve had all along regarding custody, tax credits, and child support that Tom never informed me of. My current attorney cares about informing me of my rights and giving me the information I need to make good choices. When I recently called Mr Brasier to ask a question about my settlement, he joked that he never remembers his clients. While this may be true, it certainly doesn’t seem like something worth saying out loud.

Tom picked up a pretty complicated case that didnt have a clear-cut winner.
He was overly patient and understanding. When he had a suggested course of action, he laid everything out and even gives you his very best guess of each outcome, with context. Tom explained each and every part of the process...
and he did it without ever being disingenuous with billing.
His assistant Alex is warm and inviting as well as efficient. Alex was always communicative when Tom wasnt able or necessary.
Tom was so good, cordial and timely that even the opposition preferred to communicate with him instead of their own counsel, and fired them.
Tom won my case the very best it could and it was because of the legal maneuvers he suggested. It delayed the outcome, it costed almost twice as much as expected... and Tom explained each and every reason why things resulted as such.
We won, I got exponentially more time with my daughter.
Tom is a man of his word and if you dont hire him right now, theres a chance youll see him at the other side's table... and I promise you, that is not an opponent you want to have.

Brett counseled me prior to and during all of my divorce proceedings. If you are considering hiring C.J. Graves as your lawyer, I’d like to share my troubling experience working with him on a parenting plan modification which would result in a child support modification. Now, keep in mind, I have sole legal custody of my son.
Unfortunately, C.J. satisfied all of the opposing party's requests for the provisions in the new supplemental judgement. Nothing we discussed and initially agreed between parties when we “settled” out of court was included in the judgement, except for the 50/50 that I agreed to. The opposing party submitted the judgement that they drafted as final. C.J. submitted the response which was disregarded by Judge Bailey and he signed the opposing parties draft as final. This did not include ANY of the agreed upon/revised provisions that we discussed.
C.J. found out about this, called me and emailed me and said he wasn’t happy with the new judgment. However, he signed it without my knowledge and approval. From there, he was not able to discuss the damaging and inaccurate statements with opposing counsel. Not only did the child support modification not include the private health insurance I pay for my son, he also allowed the opposing party to include close to $800 in health care related expenses. He flat out told me he would get this fixed. That never happened.
He didn’t even get the other party to agree to edit the start date that the new parenting plan started. This resulted in a 3-month retro for the other party- which was a lie.
Either C.J. lacks knowledge of basic information on how to modify a child support payment and/or the ability to properly represent a client.
How are basic, fundamental, and true facts not incorporated in a new judgement when you have a lawyer representing you and these were specific things I had to ask him to change?
It appears that C.J. was very helpful in allowing the other party to achieve what they wanted. So, in essence, C.J. did not negotiate ANYTHING on my behalf. He did not do the work that I paid him for (negotiating and representing me) because the judgement says it all.
This resulted in an inaccurate monthly child support payment, and C.J. knew it.
There are additional factors that are influencing my rating and decision which I prefer to leave outside of this review. However, one of the most outstanding is his response time. I would not hear from him for 2 weeks, if not more. Part of his communications said that we shouldn’t “push it” or “upset them in any way,” if we wanted them to agree to consider changing anything (to the true information).
This was concerning to me because C.J. constantly told me that the opposing counsel didn’t call him back or reply to his emails. His inability to communicate with opposing counsel set me back and put me in a very compromised position.
C.J. was hired to negotiate and represent me. Unfortunately, I lost more than what rights I went in with, and he is very aware of this. At minimum to have the health care expense I pay for my son included in the child support calculator. I have always maintained health insurance for my son. Uninterrupted medical coverage.
The lack of timely communication left me wondering for weeks if anything was happening and or going to change. He also made deceiving promises about outcomes that were valid and realistic. I walked out losing and 100% unsatisfied. This was a clear-cut case, and C.J. did not do his job.
I truly felt neglected and that my case was not a priority for C.J. He was not able to achieve anything for me and the final judgement contained clauses that were never agreed upon. He was not able to negotiate anything for me. He even stated that in his conversations with opposing counsel, “We simply could not reach a resolution as to the issues”. Simply put, the other party was able to create a judgement that included everything they wanted (that was not agreed upon) and C.J. had no power to negotiate it.
