I’m so grateful to Kim Law for guiding me through such a tough time after my car accident. From the very beginning, they were patient, supportive, and truly cared about my well-being. They kept me updated every step of the way, explained everything in a way I could understand, and always checked in to see how I was doing—not just about the case, but personally too. What really stood out was how they made the process so much smoother by connecting me with their network of doctors. This allowed me to focus on my recovery instead of stressing over the complicated insurance and claims process. Their dedication, compassion, and expertise turned a dark time into a manageable one, and I’ll always be thankful for their help. If you’re looking for a team that genuinely has your back, I highly recommend Kim Law!

I am forever grateful for the team that represented me at Fried Bonder White. It was an incredibly stressful and unnerving time after my accident, and they streamline the process so that I could focus on healing rather than sorting out legal matters. Any question or concern that I had they answered immediately and put my mind at ease. They genuinely care about their clients, and go above and beyond to make you feel comforted and secure. They are the only team I will ever recommend and I am utterly impressed with her level of service.

Megan was simply amazing! She was responsive to our questions and concerns regarding our son's IEP not being followed properly. She worked alongside us to formulate a plan before the meeting, and spoke intelligently about laws and procedures during the meeting. Megan was easy to communicate with, did not have intentions that went beyond what we wanted, and was not one of those stereotypical "bulldog" attorneys that work against you in meetings. She was the very resource we needed when we needed her!

I came to Mo with a DUI charge. It would have been my third. After said situation i did a quick google searched and seen the positive reviews from people speaking highly of Mo. i reached out to Mo on a Sunday morning and before Sunday afternoon he was on the phone with me already getting a game plan together. He gave me a fair price for his help and offered a payment plan and was completely helpful the entire time. He helped organize a plea deal that will change my charge to reckless driving. This will impact my life greatly saving me so much in legal fees and allowing me to keep my license. The actions he been able to do is the kind of work that gets a man a Christmas card for the rest of my life. It’s completely appreciated how helpful and responsive him and his teams were to my many nagging emails. I highly recommend you give him a shout when in need. Thanks Mo!

John has represented my insureds in catastrophic matters for over 15 years now. He is very responsive having developed a first class litigation team that surrounds him. He is the most knowledgeable attorney that I deal with across the country. John understands the importance of providing excellent service at all levels, aside from his actual legal expertise, which is vital for the type of cases I handle and assign to counsel. I have seen John try numerous cases, and he is outstanding in trial. He has a commanding presence in the courtroom, and can connect with jurors from all walks of life. I handle cases from Los Angeles to Miami and still consider John as my home run hitter.

36 years as a claims professional working all across the country has put me in touch with Lawyers of the highest quality on both the Plaintiff and Defense sides. John Hall clearly stands out in my opinion as one of the best of the best. His reputation alone helps us resolve cases with catastrophic exposures. This reputation stems from his superlative ability in the court room. He comes to trial well prepared and has a remarkable ability to think on his feet when the inevetible unexpected adversity occurs. He can speak to jurors across the spectrum and is always well received. The judges respect him and even the most Plaintff oriented judge will give John a fair deal. John is experienced in catastrophic birth injury cases and is frequently hired by our cleints to assist local counsel in venues across the country. John is truly in the Elite of his Class and I recommned him with no reservations!

Her diligence, direct approach, and candid communication with both me and opposing counsel led to the result I could've hoped for - full payment of tens of thousands of dollars in commissions owed to me. We only wanted to hire the best of the best to work with us and we didn't go wrong with hiring him. He took the time to learn what our business entailed before giving us legal counsel. In addition to that, he gave us some business referrals, provided useful feedback regarding our business, and provided additional information outside of our FCRA needs. Jim is a rare individual and lawyer. There are some hideously awful people in corporate healthcare who carry on as if they are doing God's work. They are bankrupting and killing us and "legitimate "law firms are covering it up. Jim sees right through it and knows who to go after and how to do it. . I spoke to so many "great" lawyers who were either afraid to get in the ring or they just didn't have the brain Jim has. He is a man of great integrity a trait which is increasingly rare among healthcare lawyers.

Settled a thorny problem with a entertainment partnership gone bad in a resolute and sensible manner. He was clearly on my side and did not let professional courtesy cloud the excellent resolution of my case, caused the clarity of his presentation and the respect it engendered in my . adversaries. That I still have business dealings with the company and lawyers whom I challenged is a testimony to his efficient, firm yet polite handling of the negotiation.

Mr. Morton helped my family navigate a civil case, and he was very effective in making sure the insurance companies evaluated the case properly. He was prompt and professional in his communications with all parties. We hope to not need his services again, but we are proud we have someone we can trust if we do.

We contacted this firm due to their many 5 star reviews, expecting to get the same treatment. We were initially met with positive attitudes and a reassurance of why they have their reviews. It was short lived. They needed US to solve everything for them, and they still couldn’t figure it out. They kept commending us for “acting as lawyers” (doing all the work ourselves) up until there was a delay in a change we were expecting on a paperwork. Expected on Friday. They didn’t even wait until EOD before issuing us a disengagement letter and showing us the old paperwork. We explained to them that the party responsible for updating the paperwork, doesn’t arrive until the evening on Friday. They ceased communicating with us when we literally had everything they asked for. Later that day, we had everything they needed, including the NEW paperwork. (they could’ve done this themselves) and they never recanted the disengagement. This review is a reminder that this firm is far from the 5 stars they’ve likely paid for or asked for. Also, negotiate your upfront percentage! They accepted a 28% pursuit fee because we did so much of their job for them before they even agreed to work with us.

Sorry to have to be the 1st 1-star review however, it not without reason and justification. I was recently involved in an MVA accident where Forsyth county wrongly placed fault on me. (The other driver lied, and their “investigation” coincided with this driver at the time). Me sticking to my truth, I contacted about 8 businesses in the area seeking surveillance footage which corroborated with my account on what happened that night. After securing footage at TWO locations, submitting it to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s department, and asking for a reversal of the citation and an amendment to the report, I was granted such by the sergeant after her viewed the surveillance footage and agreed with the other driver being at fault. I sought Angell Law Firm for their services a few days ago. I’ve gathered all supporting documents, evidence and more for my case on my own (saving them a ton of leg work). We were now simply waiting on an UPDATED report scheduled to be updated today-12/6/24, to get started with representation. I was assigned case manager Fanny Medina who on today, pulled the OLD report, called me and threatened disengagement of representation, due to the report showing incorrect information. She then hung up the call in my face, I called back and was told that she will be forwarding me the report via email. The email contained her stating that due to the nature of the report, they would have to regrettably disengage representation with me. She also attached the OLD report. I REPEATEDLY told them there will be a NEW report and provided verbal (consented audio recording) communication from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office confirming that. I just received written confirmation from Forsyth County’s Lieutenant, (at 9:39pm 12/6/24) confirming the new report and the updated information that Angell Law Firm said needed to be on the report. Everything is in writing. The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Lieutenants issued an apology and written confirmation to fix and resolve this issue. WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED? Why was I ghosted and left without representation? Your incompetent case manager had the wrong report. You all dropped the ball on this one, and I’m holding EVERYONE accountable for their errors in this matter.

Westmoreland Law, particularly Attorney Kevin W. Hall in this instance, is amazing! From my initial contact, to case completion, Mr. Hall proved exceptionally, knowledgeable, skillful, professional, and genuinely concerned for my wellbeing. His counsel was clear and concise, which I followed carefully, and my positive result came faster and better than expected. I give Attorney Hall my strongest endorsement/recommendation. O. W. Justice

I recently contacted this law firm to present my case and to find out whether or not Attorney McCain handled cases as mine - when I reached their office, i spoke with a gentleman by the name of Shawn Carter. When i tell you that i was highly impressed and beyond satisfied with my phone interaction - there are not enough words in our English vocabulary to describe truly how impressed I was with my phone interaction with Mr. Carter. Mr. Carter exemplified superb listening skills, compassion, empathy and his follow-up and follow through was simply impeccable. I am a firm believer that who a business, company, etc has on their "front lines" of their business representing them can do 1 of two things Make the business and company stronger, better and more efficient or destroy and tear down a company and business from the way they are conducting themselves and representing the company they are employed with and for me, Mr. Carter truly out shines and rank them all - it is my hope that Attorney McCain knows what an asset he has in Mr. Carter and the way Mr. Carter interacts on the phone with me truly helped me and although Attorney McCain wasn't able to be the one to assist me with my case, I felt it necessary to make my post of my phone interaction and experience with Mr. Carter and say, "Thank You Mr. Carter, May GOD bless and keep you and your family always."

What a Class Action Lawyer Can Do for You

A class action lawyer specializes in representing groups of individuals who have suffered similar harm or injury due to the actions of a company, organization, or government entity. These lawyers file lawsuits on behalf of a large group (the "class") of individuals, seeking compensation or relief for damages caused by things like defective products, environmental harm, consumer fraud, or employment violations. Class action lawyers are skilled in managing complex legal processes that involve numerous plaintiffs and large-scale legal claims.

If you’ve been harmed by a product, service, or corporate action that also affected many others, a class action lawyer can help you join or initiate a collective lawsuit to seek justice and compensation.

When Should I Hire a Class Action Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a class action lawyer if you and a group of people have experienced harm or damages under similar circumstances. Common scenarios include:

  • Defective products: If a product you purchased caused injury, illness, or other harm due to a defect, a class action lawyer can help you join a lawsuit against the manufacturer or retailer.
  • Consumer fraud: If a company has misled consumers through false advertising, deceptive business practices, or scams, a class action lawsuit can be filed to seek compensation on behalf of all affected customers.
  • Employment violations: If your employer has violated labor laws - such as failing to pay overtime, denying benefits, or enforcing discriminatory policies - a class action lawyer can represent a group of employees seeking justice.
  • Data breaches: If a company’s negligence led to a data breach that compromised your personal information, you may be able to join a class action lawsuit seeking compensation for the breach.
  • Environmental damage: If you or your community has been harmed by environmental hazards, such as pollution or toxic waste, a class action lawyer can file a collective lawsuit against the responsible party.
  • Unfair financial practices: If a bank, lender, or credit card company engaged in fraudulent or illegal financial practices, a class action lawyer can help a group of consumers recover losses.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process helps ensure that you meet legal deadlines and that your case is properly prepared for a potential class action lawsuit.

What Does a Class Action Lawyer Do?

A class action lawyer provides a range of legal services to represent large groups of individuals in lawsuits. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Investigating the claim: The lawyer investigates the facts of the case, including gathering evidence of harm, identifying potential plaintiffs, and determining whether a class action lawsuit is the best course of action.
  • Filing the lawsuit: The lawyer files the class action lawsuit on behalf of the named plaintiffs (the representative plaintiffs) and others who have experienced similar harm.
  • Class certification: One of the first steps in a class action is getting the court to certify the case as a class action. The lawyer will argue that the case meets the legal requirements for certification, such as the number of plaintiffs and commonality of harm.
  • Communicating with plaintiffs: Class action lawyers keep plaintiffs informed throughout the process, including notifying potential class members about the lawsuit and giving them the opportunity to join the case.
  • Negotiating settlements: Many class action lawsuits are resolved through settlements before going to trial. The lawyer will negotiate with the defendant to reach a settlement that compensates the class for their losses.
  • Representing the class in court: If the case goes to trial, the lawyer will represent the entire class, presenting evidence, questioning witnesses, and arguing for the plaintiffs.
  • Managing claims distribution: Once a settlement or verdict is reached, the lawyer helps manage the process of distributing compensation to class members, ensuring that all eligible plaintiffs receive their share of the award.

How Are Class Action Lawyers Paid?

Class action lawyers are typically paid on a contingency fee basis, meaning they only get paid if the class action lawsuit is successful. Here’s how their payment structure generally works:

  • Contingency fee: Class action lawyers usually take a percentage of the settlement or judgment as their fee. This percentage typically ranges from 25% to 40%, depending on the complexity of the case and the amount of work involved.
  • No upfront fees: You generally won’t have to pay any fees upfront. The lawyer covers the costs of the lawsuit, such as filing fees, expert witness fees, and court costs, and is reimbursed from the settlement or award.
  • Court approval of fees: In class action cases, the court must approve the lawyer’s fee to ensure that it is reasonable. This helps protect class members from paying excessive legal fees.

Always discuss fee arrangements with your lawyer at the outset to understand how much they will be paid if the lawsuit is successful.

How Much Does a Class Action Lawyer Cost?

Class action lawyers generally work on contingency, meaning they don’t get paid unless the lawsuit is successful. Here’s a breakdown of potential costs:

  • Contingency fee: Class action lawyers typically charge between 25% and 40% of the settlement or judgment. For example, if the lawsuit settles for $10 million and the lawyer’s fee is 30%, the lawyer would receive $3 million, and the remaining $7 million would be distributed to the class members.
  • Court costs and expenses: In addition to the contingency fee, the lawyer will deduct the costs associated with the lawsuit, such as court filing fees, expert witness fees, and investigation costs. These costs are usually reimbursed from the settlement or award.
  • No cost if the case is lost: If the class action lawsuit is unsuccessful, you typically won’t owe any legal fees or costs. The lawyer assumes the financial risk of the case.

It’s important to discuss potential costs and fee structures with your lawyer before the case proceeds to ensure transparency and avoid any surprises.

Top Questions to Ask a Class Action Lawyer

Before hiring a class action lawyer, you should ask key questions to ensure they have the experience and skills needed to handle your case effectively. Key questions to ask include:

  1. What experience do you have with class action lawsuits?
Ensure the lawyer has a successful track record of handling class action cases, particularly in the area of law relevant to your case (e.g., consumer fraud, employment, defective products).
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Confirm that the lawyer charges a contingency fee, and ask for a detailed explanation of what percentage they charge and how expenses will be handled.
  3. What are the chances of success in my case?
Ask the lawyer for an honest assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of your case and the likelihood of certification as a class action.
  4. How long will the process take?
Class action lawsuits can take time to resolve, so ask the lawyer how long they expect the case to last, from certification to settlement or trial.
  5. Will I need to appear in court?
Ask if your participation will be required in court or whether the lawyer will handle most aspects of the case on behalf of the class.
  6. What is the expected settlement or recovery?
Ask about potential outcomes, including the expected settlement or damages, and how compensation will be distributed among class members.
  7. What happens if the case is lost?
Confirm that you won’t owe any legal fees or expenses if the case is unsuccessful.

How to Check the Credibility of a Class Action Lawyer

To ensure you are hiring a reputable class action lawyer, take the following steps to verify their credentials and experience:

  • Verify their bar status: Check with your state bar association to confirm that the lawyer is licensed to practice law and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Look for class action experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they specialize in class action cases and have successfully handled cases similar to yours.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for reviews on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to see what previous clients have said about the lawyer’s professionalism and success rate in class action lawsuits.
  • Ask for references: A reputable lawyer should be able to provide references from past clients who have been involved in class action cases.
  • Check for certifications or memberships: Membership in organizations like the American Association for Justice (AAJ) or specific class action sections can indicate the lawyer’s expertise in handling large-scale litigation.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first consultation with a class action lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant information and documents. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Details of the harm you’ve experienced: Provide a clear explanation of the harm or damages you’ve suffered, whether it’s a defective product, financial loss, or harm due to employment violations.
  • Evidence of the issue: Bring any documents, emails, receipts, contracts, or photos that support your claim. If others have experienced the same harm, gather their testimonies or contact information if possible.
  • Information about the responsible party: If you know which company, organization, or government entity is responsible, bring any information you have about them, including names, addresses, or prior legal actions.
  • Questions about the process: Prepare a list of questions about the class action process, your potential role in the lawsuit, and what you can expect in terms of outcomes and timelines.
  • Contact information for other potential class members (if available): If you know others who have been similarly affected, provide their contact information so the lawyer can assess whether they may join the class action.

By preparing thoroughly for your consultation, you can help the lawyer evaluate your case effectively and provide the best legal guidance for pursuing a class action lawsuit.
