It's a hard pill to swallow when you come to a point where you must debate on whether you should file for bankruptcy or not. After weighing all possible options, I decided to file and was referred to Robert Fox. It had started as an initial phone call with quick questions regarding your income, your debt and your expenses. This is what they call the Means test. After answering all the questions, I was told I was a "good" candidate to file. We then proceeded to schedule a future date to talk again going into further details about my debt and expenses. What was really nice for me was i asked if we should talk over the phone or meet in person. Robert said it was my preference and really didn't mind if I chose either way. He understood that people were busy and couldn't always make time to travel to his office. However, he did suggest that meeting in person would be more personable. That right away made me feel a bit more relieved during the process. It gave me a sense of security in knowing he wanted to do his job and do it right. And if it meant putting a face to a file, then i was all for it.
On my office visit, I was greeted by Iris at the front desk. (Please pay attention to her. She is another instrumental person in the process). Very pleasant and nice lady. After meeting with Robert and getting all the things done during our discussion, Iris gave me papers to look over and sign and gave me my list of things to do over the next couple of days. She also told me she would be in contact with me from time to time til my hearing. And in the days leading up to my hearing, she always gave me detailed instructions on everything and anything. Don't worry, Robert was always available for me whenever I had any questions.
Now one thing before I end my review. You, as the client, must do everything asked of you by Robert and Iris if you want the whole process to go smoothly and without a hitch. If you do your part, and do it right, they can do theirs correctly.
Robert and Iris, thank you for everything. A huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Thank you again.

If you’ve ever had any experience with getting arrested, spending time in jail till a judge hears your case and allows you to leave, following up with further court dates, as well as the implications of all these occurrences - it can be incredibly overwhelming and rather difficult to keep a straight head throughout.
That is ofcourse NOT the case if you’re able and/or fortunate enough to find yourself a lawyer who genuinely gives a damn about what might happen to you - and legitimately knows her way around the court room & the legal system.
And so, try as I may - but I simply struggle to adequately express how immensely grateful I am to Serena Townsend for how swift, professional, honest, and KIND she was with me throughout the entirety of my case.
I often would display very palpable stress in the face of this ordeal - but she kept me on the straight, and was very patient with me when she had plenty of reason not to necessarily be so patient…

In 2008, the company I worked for abruptly closed their doors and filed Chapter 11 leaving over 700 employees unemployed. I had knowledge of the WARN Act which mandates employees are given 60 day notice before a company can close the business, but did not know who to contact to pursue civil action. After investigating and inquiring with the Department of Labor and other persons of knowledge on the WARN Act, I was directed to Outten and Golden attorney Rene Roupinian.
From the onset, Ms. Roupinian made it clear to the class that we would be facing an uphill battle against a strong opponent that might take years to resolve and there was no guarantee on the result. Through Ms. Roupinian’s diligent efforts, the Federal Court ruled the case would move forward after the defendant’s efforts to have the case dismissed. Her thorough investigations in discovery and many depositions resulted into the defendants agreeing to discuss a settlement. After many painstaking meetings with the defendants a settlement was reached after a three and a half year battle. This settlement has helped set precedence for future cases while establishing new language the courts can use to determine such cases.
Through our journey I found Ms. Roupinian to be honest, very professional and a true advocate for workers’ rights under the WARN Act. With that being said, I would highly recommend Ms. Roupinian services to any group of workers who have denied these rights under laws of the Federal Act.

Let’s be honest... no one wants to need an attorney, ever!
However, if you do, as we did, this is THE only firm to consider on LI. From partners, Rob and Sarah, to junior attorneys, associates and support staff, their services are simply unmatched.
And wowza! There’s even a real human, extremely competent, receptionist that answers the telephone. No push this and speak that and try to muddle thru some silly automated phone system; a consistent personal, caring approach to business at every level.
Rob Valli is thorough, on point and straight forward, mixed with kindness and compassion. Don’t mistake his kindness for weakness, tho! He can be a “bulldog”, if necessary and definitely precisely when needed. make no mistake, he knows his business and gets the job done.
There’s no “sugar coating“ and telling you what you want to hear, refreshing! He, and his associates at every level, provide everything you need and want on your side. Strong communication skills are a must for me and they deliver information clearly and concisely. Always, in a professional and succinct comprehensive manner. They know lay of land on LI and have the skill set to get job done.
Recently, I was asked how I know Rob when referring him, again. I paused... just for a moment and said “...Rob is my friend!”. I suddenly realized I do consider him my friend. Sean O Hara has no business in law, came off nice, seemingly, except he contradicted himself several times. Claiming he never heard from the company, but knew where they sent my w-2…Did nothing for nine months and when I gave him crucial information he tried to get money, completely unaware that I had another attorney related to this case. His terrible work caused me to go through their employees and that’s a no for me dog, all white men. Fired and replaced. Don’t waste your time, not my first rodeo, but apparently his. Mind you the case was easy, pictures, text messages and he blew it, lazy, lazy, lazy. Easily the most important client you’ll ever have too.
