Outstanding Divorce/Child Custody Lawyer – Highly Recommend!
My case involved a divorce with children, filed by my ex-husband who lives in Ohio, while I reside in Minnesota. Despite my ex-husband and his lawyer insisting that the case should include child custody and be handled in Ohio, Catherine, who was well-versed in child custody laws, raised a key issue: under the UCCJEA (Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act), Ohio did not have jurisdiction over the children. The opposing party continued to push for a trial involving both the divorce and child custody in Ohio, even though this was legally improper. Ultimately, Catherine and I prevailed, as it was determined that Ohio lacked jurisdiction over the children under the UCCJEA. As a result, the divorce was finalized without any decisions made about custody, which would be addressed in Minnesota instead.
I am so grateful for the exceptional legal support I received from Catherine during my divorce. Going through such a difficult and emotional time was incredibly stressful, but she made the entire process so much easier to navigate. From the initial consultation to the final resolution, Catherine was there every step of the way, providing not only expert legal advice but also compassionate support.

I was injured in an accident and didn't have any insurance information from the other person involved. I filed a police report and Dennis was able to obtain a video of the accident I was injured in, which I would not have had access to, that supported my claim. He kept me informed throughout the process and gave me the confidence that he was truly working for my best interest not just for his fee.
My case was at the same time that my father started having sever health problems and past away, Dennis and his staff were caring and I knew that the case was being taken care of and I could concentrate on the needs of my parents.
My husband and I realized that the law is not our strong suit and that hiring Dennis was a great decision.

David Abromowitz was the lawyer I hired to help set up my IV Hydration and Vitamin Infusion business. He charged me quadruple what was discussed (quoted me 3.5-5K - charged me over 20K and I paid a final amount of OVER 12k - astronomical amount) and took 3 times as long to complete the job. Three other nurses in my coaching group (NursePreneurs) had similar experiences with him and another nurse, coincidentally, came forward today from a different IV Hydration/Vitamin Infusion business reporting the same story. RNs - be warned! He is dishonest and will overcharge you! I notified the BBB but his response was "I'm sorry she didn't understand". You and I both know the truth, Mr. Abromowitz. You were intentionally dishonest. It's people like you that give lawyers a bad name. All these RNs trusted you, I trusted you. Despite your lawyerly response to this review - you and I know the truth.

Very unprofessional. I paid Jessica $350; all she did was eat her breakfast, and she gave me some paperwork. She was too rude even to answer any questions and never answered my calls after the original consultation . She then claimed to have sent me several emails and demanded that I answer her (her way to get rid of me as a client) to sever her services; at this point, I realized it was best to cut my losses and get a lawyer who cared. Please don't waste your time with this one; she is a high-priced waste of your time.

I consulted with Doug mid-court action. While I have no complaint about my previous attorney, I really appreciated Doug's ability to explain the issues at hand. It was so refreshing, comforting and he definitely went beyond my expectations in terms of effort. The court action I was involved in was stressful several unexpected roadblocks to winning. While he wasn't magic and couldn't erase those, he did provide a great analysis of their weaknesses so I was able to get a decent settlement. Doug helped me through a divorce. I had always heard that they can be messy and expensive. He and his staff made it pretty painless, fast and it did not cost me a bundle. He is extremely knowledgeable, doesn't sugarcoat anything and is very open, honest and diligent. Parking at his office is not a problem, which is rare in Columbus. Kate assisted me with handling very substantial employment tax liabilities. I owned a small LLC in Columbus, Ohio. Kate assisted me in understanding the nature and extent of my liabilities. She corresponded directly with the IRS Revenue Officer who was assigned to collect on these liabilities. She had a good working relationship with the IRS Revenue Officer and she seemed to be highly respected amongst the collection division personnel in Columbus. In addition to working with the local Revenue Officer, Kate also assisted me in submitting an Offer in Compromise for my personal tax liabilities (including the trust fund recovery penalties assessed from my business). With Kate’s help, I was able to substantially reduce the amount that I owed to the IRS. I was able to pay this over to the IRS and get the tax liens released. I went to Mr. Taps for help straightening out poor estate planning by another lawyer. The estate was somewhat complex due to a late-life marriage and a husband who had recently had strokes and been diagnosed with dementia. For 3 1/2 years now, Mr. Taps has been consistently the best lawyer I have ever worked with. Some of the things I value: He is easily accessible and responsive. He has excellent ability to grasp complexity quickly and a phenomenal memory for newly introduced detail. He has allowed me to participate as much or as little as I want. He is willing to educate me (and my son) in addition to advising. I attribute the successful Medicaid appeals he has made on my husband's and my behalf to the depth and excellence of his understanding of the law. In addition, his recommendations are realistic but he still lets me know the range of my options so that I can participate in the decision-making process. He is at all times professional, calm, respectful, firm but not overbearing, and reliable. What is also very impressive is that he is persistent; I feel he not only cares about the outcome but is personally invested in it as if it were his own. In my experience, that is unusual and a real treasure. It is has also been very reassuring. My respect and admiration extend beyond him himself to his staff and associates whom I have met. He maintains outstanding office help and has been capable and willing to refer me to equally competent advisers in other areas as needed. Marnie took my case on contingency, referred by another attorney to review my legal issue against a financial advisor, for breach of fiduciary duty, misrepresentation of investment fund bought GPB NYC, under SEC/FBI investigation. after 4 months,Marnie reviewed my docs/statements, stated that the rest of my account earned a profit, and my case would not be winable and is a JAMS not FINRA arbitration in washington. she had my docs/contract with advisory firm which stated conditions. could have been reviewed in 1 week. i had to contact her for updates, it seemed she was to busy or just let my case sit or too complex. my rating is 2-3 stars.

The first time I met Mark and his partner, my first impression was that they were the standard run of the mill lawyers and would do a solid job. I had no idea what to expect just that they were highly recommended. I am glad to say I was very wrong about these two! First class all the way. Mark has been named one of the best lawyers in the nation. It is and continues to be a well deserved title. I never felt I was being ignored, or lied to in anyway. If I ever felt overwhelmed and upset, Mark got me refocused and back on track. We seen it through to the end and I am glad we did. While I hope I don't have to work with him again on another case, I definitely would have no qualms and would do it again in a heartbeat. I had a very disappointing experience with Yazdani Law, LLC, Columbus, OH. Despite paying for their services in full, they mishandled my case by submitting incorrect documentation, leading to delays and unnecessary stress during the visa process. To make matters worse, they demanded extra money beyond the agreed-upon contract amount, claiming it was for unforeseen circumstances—issues that should have been anticipated with proper diligence.
Their lack of accountability and professionalism was evident throughout. They acted as if they were providing a free service, despite the significant fees I paid. Instead of acknowledging their errors, they attempted to mask their mistakes by blaming and suppressing.
I do not recommend this lawyer or firm to anyone seeking reliable immigration assistance.
