First and foremost, the reviews are real! I called late one evening, needing a lawyer to represent me in my situation. From day one, I felt heard and supported. Based on published reviews for Sari Kurland, I hired her for a help and paid $5,000.00 retainer in February 2024. I request a few times appointment, and she refused to meet with me. As of today no word from her, no bill and no refund. We are all stun by her dishonesty.

My mother accumulated a lot of credit card debt which I discovered upon helping her with finances and her health following a stroke. Due to her stroke, she was unaware of the gravity of this situation. Paying off her debts were increasingly becoming a huge burden to her financially as she also needed to be cared for at least 75% of the day. Upon researching and contacting local law firms handling bankruptcy cases, we discovered the Kurland Law Group. An initial contact from their office was quickly followed by an initial phone conference with one of their attorneys, to determine the type of bankruptcy my mother would qualify for. Following the phone conference, emails were sent to inform my mother and I the procedure, the contract, and paperwork requirements. While the process seemed to take a long time, as long as we provided all the information required, the Kurland Law Group was quick to do their end of the process. There was always good and clear communication. They made the bankruptcy process seamless. Attorney Hope and her assistant thoroughly briefed my mother prior to the meeting with the creditors. Because of the Kurland Law Group’s help, my mother now feels more responsible with her finances, thinking more meaningfully before spending. We highly recommend the Kurland Law Group’s services. They are a valuable asset to our community, for those who have a similar problem.

They were great from Start to finish. They sent me forms and assisted me along with way promptly when I had questions. On the day of meeting with the creditors, I couldn't get Zoom or the phone number to work. Because Hope was in the meeting as well, she got both myself and the Creditor on speaker phone to complete the process. I would recommend anybody to use this firm if you need to file with bankruptcy. we had initial disagreement with Mr. Patel's office regarding the scheduling. Mr. Patel personally took the matter in hand, and now we just finished the consultation. If I have any immigration need or case to be filed future, it will be with Mr. Patel. I did lot of internet research about my immigration case and there were so many elements that were confusing, but Mr. Patel has reasonable explanation for how it works. I was recently represented by Jessica at the Holland Law Firm in a collection lawsuit defense. From the process of booking a consultation, to that first meeting itself, and all the following communication and time in court, my experience was wonderful. It was overwhelming to be presented with a summons and then research the case, trying to figure out how--or even if--I should defend myself. The ease of the intake process as a client helped during my rattled state in the early days of the lawsuit, and the Holland team put my mind at ease with realistic projections of what might happen if I took various paths in the lawsuit. They were able to quickly identify steps that needed to be taken, which was good since this was a "large" case with more complicated case law than standard/smaller claims. On top of that, they were able to get the plaintiff to drop their case altogether! Best possible outcome. Easily the best money I ever spent was in securing their representation; their professionalism and knowledge saved my mental health, my finances, and gave me hope after I'd given up.

I was very fortunate to find Jane Santoni through the Maryland Volunteer Lawyer Service to represent my 89 year old neighbor, Virginia, who was being sued by a home improvement company. Virginia had work done on her roof and paid the full estimated cost of the job in advance. When the job was completed, Virginia was presented with a bill for over $2000. for work claimed to have been done that was not in the contract. Virginia had not been told that the additional work was needed much less completed without her knowledge. Miss Virginia has very meager means and had to borrow the money from her bank for the roof repair and just frankly did not have, nor could she raise, the additional money. Jane Santoni volunteered to help Virginia, pro bono and I served as a communications channel, driver and interpreter for Virginia so was privileged to all communication between Ms. Santoni and Virginia. The most vivid image I have from our meeting with Ms. Santoni is the warm, sincere interest Ms. Santoni expressed in anything and everything Virginia had to say. Ms. Santoni knew how extremely stressful the situation was for Virginia and was able to create an interaction that was comfortable and put her at ease. Everything about her interaction with Virginia was perfect-eye contact, body language, and even small talk about those things in Virginia's life that are important to her, like her dog. Jane Santoni is a masterful communicator and at no time did I feel that we were getting a different level of service that we would have had we been paying. Ms. Santoni was always mindful of Virginia's interests. Even though she felt that Virginia had a very strong case for a counter suit, she did not represent this option any differently than the simple option of getting the suit dropped, which was Virginia's preference. Jane was thorough in her communication with me, passing on all the artifacts the she generated and all correspondence that she received from the plaintiff and letting me know what was happening in the case. She successfully prepared a claim against the home improvement company which led them to drop the suit against Virginia. It is wonderful to meet a person who shows compassion for people who are treated unfairly and generously donates their time to make things right. Should I ever need a lawyer, I want Jane Santoni to represent me. I have no reservation in giving Jane Santoni the highest recommendation. She is a bright shining star in a profession that gets a fair amount of bad press.

During the years I needed Mr. Phillip Chalker expertise on three separate occasions. First, with a tenant that refused to leave the property. Secondly, was with a contract release of a shady management company. Finally, a mutual lease break with multi-tenants. I had a BK-7 on my TransUnion report. The date is incorrect. It shows from 2016 but BK was in 2012. I also had 60 days late on a car loan from 2019, no collection and charge off Citi bank from 2019 paid. Started rebuilding December 2021 with 522 FICO 8 but none of the strategies worked. I was the unfortunate recipient of an HOA organization that took FULL advantage of the residents because they could. It was an absolute abuse of power to say the least. However, in spite of the years of attempted torment, I was blessed to come across Matt Skipper. Although at that point I had PTSD from dealing with Lawyers, I left his office feeling like I had a chance to right the wrongs that had been done not only to me but others. Matthew Skipper was recommended by my daughter. My family and I were being deprived of necessary access to our property that the condo association had no legal right to deprive us of. My husband just died. He left me various tasks to do for him. There is a problem that prevents me to do one of the tasks. It is about tax. I am not really sure who can I trust, who can I ask. I prayed hard for solution. Then one sleepless night, I was in the front of my computer. I googled " Tax Lawyer near me". The very first name came out was his. I read the reviews . He is their saint and savior! And then I thought he could be my savior too. I hit my keyboards and started to email him. I told him what bothers me. I sought for his professional advice... Hit send and went to sleep consoling and telling myself not to expect and that he may not waste his time to me. I was wrong, on the second day I got email from him saying " Please call me ". I was so surprised and relieved . He is very accommodating, professional and very straight forward . He taught me what to do and even guide me how to do my solution. He spent time and double checked if am doing it right. What a man! He doesn't know me but he accommodated me and didn't take anything in return.

Shannon Hammond did an excellent job for my parents. Her expertise was/is so impressive. Originally, we went to a lawyer in Rockville who didn't do anything and yet charged my parents $3,500. I witnessed the initial experience with both lawyers. On our first meeting Shannon Hammond spent over 2 hours asking questions and with the information created an excel spreadsheet - the information was unique to my parents' situation. One month prior to meeting Shannon Hammond we met with a Rockville lawyer who spent 1/2 hour with us; we knew nothing when we left her office. The Rockville lawyer directed me to provide all information to her; her paralegal filled in an already issued template from the information I provided which took me over a week to gather. The Rockville lawyer did not create anything original (it was a template) whereas Shannon Hammond created the unique excel spreadsheet that pertained directly to my parents' situation. The Rockville lawyer rushed through whatever information she was trying to provide us whereas Shannon Hammond took so much time that even my mother understood what she was presenting to us. My parents will continue to use Shannon Hammond as will the rest of my family. I have already recommended Shannon to friends who will be using her in the future. She's the best and I cannot say enough great things about her especially since I had experienced a horrible lawyer prior to meeting Shannon. Shannon Hammond respects all who speak to her unlike the Rockville lawyer who was always too busy to take calls, etc. I highly recommend using Shannon Hammond for any elder care services but especially if applying for Medicaid.

We turned to Chaim for advice on addressing our tax debt and to see if an "offer in compromise" was feasible. Chaim reviewed our financial situation and directed us to tools on the IRS website to determine if we might qualify for a reduction in our taxes. Ms. Ortega helped defend me against a debt collection lawsuit from Midland Funding LLC. This lawsuit was the first time I had sought legal help.
During my initial meeting, I was already high-strung from thinking about this case. My first impression of Ms. Ortega was that she is experienced and knowledgeable with this type of litigation, and that she commands a strong presence of confidence. I also felt the price for representation was extremely fair. Ms. Ortega even supplied me with very responsive pro bono contacts. After taking day to decide with my spouse, I retained Ms. Ortega.
Ms. Ortega made of point of saying she could only recommend certain courses of action and that she could not guarantee any particular result. The strength with which she emphasized this threw me a bit. My spouse, however, had had a lot of experience with legal proceedings as a guardian ad litem and told me this type of language was very common.
