I retained Mr. Yousif to represent me in a civil matter in Massachusetts. The facts required that he become an expert in racing engines and race car maintenance protocols. I was amazed at how quickly he mastered a highly technical and complex area of mechanics so that he could better represent me. I was very satisfied with the outcome of the litigation and I can assure anyone contemplating Mr. Yousif's services that he will spare no expense or detail in aggressively advocating for his client. Rest assured, you'll be in good hands!

It is hard to overstate how positive my family’s two experiences with Atty. Asaf Sarno have been. If one were to sit down and describe the qualities of a great criminal defense attorney, you would describe Atty. Sarno. In the first case, a close family member with substance use issues was already on probation for non-violent related offenses when he re-offended. His case was referred to Superior Court where he was indicted and faced up to 5 years in a state penitentiary. He even failed to appear for a hearing. Fortunately, Asaf was available to take the case. Asaf deftly took advantage of errors and weaknesses in the state’s case. He also researched the sentencing history for similar cases, including that of the assigned judge. He also employed a PI to obtain relevant info to bolster the case. Although the DA’s office refused to make an acceptable plea deal, Asaf was confident that the case would resolve acceptably. In the end, the accused received extended probation – far better than jail time. At all times, Asaf remained positive and optimistic. With his client’s permission, he kept us family in the loop so that we could be appropriately supportive. (We also attended every court appearance which Asaf assured us was very helpful.) Meanwhile, another case (i.e. a different non-violent offense while under the influence) had been simmering for 2 ½ years. The original defense lawyer had assumed it would settle quickly. However, the prosecution again would not agree to an acceptable plea deal. It was apparent that the case would go to trial. It felt like a lost cause. My family member decided to get a 2nd opinion from Atty. Sarno. He instantly greeted us with positive energy and enthusiasm even before we explained the reason for calling him. We agreed to pay his reasonable fee to review the case. No guarantees but based on Asaf’s thorough review he presented three distinct approaches to the defense. Based on this and the prior experience with Asaf, he was hired to take over the case. Attorney Sarno worked hard on this case, appropriately hiring a PI and a forensic psychologist to bolster the defense. Importantly, Asaf ALWAYS returned calls and emails in a timely manner – typically within 24 hours, even when he was in court on another trial. Also with his guidance, we solicited letters of support from family members, former counselors, etc.. All this led to being as prepared as possible for the trial. Asaf made a vigorous defense, for which he was congratulated by the judge! In the end, my family member was given probation with some strict but reasonable conditions – much better than the what the state had previously insisted on. Now my family member has a reasonable shot at wellness because staying in a treatment program is now possible. There are many factors that play into the outcome of a criminal trial – the strength of the evidence, the skill and determination of the prosecution, the judge assigned, the defendant’s history, and the degree of support by family and friends. But certainly, a HUGE factor is the SKILL, DETERMINATION, POSITIVE DEMEANOR, and WORK ETHIC of the defense counsel. Asaf brings all of those qualities to his work – to an EXCEPTIONALLY high degree! Moreover, Atty. Asaf Sarno’s enthusiasm for his profession and dedication to his clients are what make him a head-and-shoulders standout in the criminal defense bar. I hope you never need the criminal defense skills of Attorney Asaf Sarno, but if you’re reading this there’s a good chance you do. My advice: HIRE HIM!

I have nothing but good things to say about Attorney Sarno. I was charged with multiple counts of possession of a large capacity firearm without a FID card, facing up to 10 years in prison on each count, and Attorney Sarno was able to negotiate a custodial sentence of only 15 months (after the prosecutor pushed the court for 2x that amount) and three years' probation. Through additional research and investigation, Attorney Sarno uncovered multiple instances of misconduct committed by the District Attorney's Office and local PD, resulting in my probation sentence being cut in half! Attorney Sarno went far above and beyond my expectations for a criminal defense attorney. I am grateful for his diligence, expertise, and relentless effort to get the best possible outcome for me. I would whole-heartedly recommend Attorney Sarno to anyone who needs the BEST legal representation possible!

What a Credit Repair Lawyer Can Do for You

A credit repair lawyer specializes in helping individuals address issues related to their credit reports and scores. They are knowledgeable about consumer protection laws, such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). These lawyers assist clients in disputing inaccurate or outdated information on their credit reports, negotiating with creditors, and protecting against unfair debt collection practices. By leveraging legal expertise, a credit repair lawyer can help you improve your creditworthiness and financial standing.

Whether you're dealing with identity theft, incorrect reporting, or harassment from debt collectors, a credit repair lawyer can provide legal assistance to ensure your rights are protected and your credit report accurately reflects your financial history.

When Should I Hire a Credit Repair Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a credit repair lawyer in the following situations:

  • Errors on Your Credit Report: If you've identified inaccuracies, such as incorrect personal information, accounts that don't belong to you, or outdated negative items, a lawyer can help dispute these errors with credit bureaus.
  • Identity Theft: If you're a victim of identity theft, a lawyer can assist in removing fraudulent accounts and charges from your credit report and take legal action against the perpetrators if necessary.
  • Unsuccessful Disputes: If you've tried to resolve credit report issues on your own without success, a lawyer can take more formal legal steps to correct the inaccuracies.
  • Debt Collection Harassment: If you're experiencing harassment from debt collectors, a lawyer can enforce your rights under the FDCPA to stop abusive practices.
  • Credit Damage Due to Divorce or Separation: If joint accounts or debts from a former spouse are affecting your credit, a lawyer can help address these issues legally.
  • Complex Legal Issues: If your credit problems involve legal complexities, such as lawsuits from creditors or violations of consumer protection laws, a lawyer's expertise is crucial.
  • Need for Legal Representation: If you're considering suing a credit bureau, creditor, or debt collector for damages due to inaccurate reporting or unlawful practices, a lawyer can represent you in court.

What Does a Credit Repair Lawyer Do?

A credit repair lawyer offers a variety of services to help improve your credit score and protect your financial interests:

  • Analyzing Credit Reports: Review your credit reports from all three major bureaus (Experian, TransUnion, Equifax) to identify errors or inaccuracies.
  • Disputing Inaccuracies: File formal disputes with credit bureaus and creditors to correct or remove incorrect information.
  • Negotiating with Creditors: Work with creditors to settle debts, negotiate payment plans, or remove negative entries in exchange for payment.
  • Stopping Harassment: Enforce your rights under the FDCPA to stop unlawful harassment from debt collectors.
  • Legal Action: Represent you in lawsuits against credit bureaus, creditors, or debt collectors who violate consumer protection laws.
  • Identity Theft Resolution: Assist in removing fraudulent accounts and charges resulting from identity theft.
  • Credit Counseling Advice: Provide guidance on managing debts and improving credit habits, although they may refer you to a certified credit counselor for detailed financial planning.

How Are Credit Repair Lawyers Paid?

Credit repair lawyers typically charge for their services in one of the following ways:

  • Hourly Rate: Charging an hourly fee, which can range from $200 to $500 or more, depending on the lawyer's experience and location.
  • Flat Fee: Offering a fixed price for specific services, such as disputing a certain number of items on your credit report.
  • Retainer Fee: Requiring an upfront payment against which services are billed. You may need to replenish the retainer as work progresses.
  • Contingency Fee: In cases where you're suing for damages, a lawyer might work on a contingency basis, receiving a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any recovered amount.
  • Payment Plans: Some lawyers offer flexible payment options to make their services more affordable.

It's important to discuss fees and payment structures during your initial consultation to fully understand the costs involved.

How Much Does a Credit Repair Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a credit repair lawyer varies based on several factors:

  • Hourly Rates: Generally range from $200 to $500 per hour.
  • Flat Fees:
    • Disputing Errors: $500 to $1,500, depending on the complexity and number of items.
    • Identity Theft Cases: $1,000 to $3,000 or more due to the extensive work involved.
  • Retainer Fees: Initial retainers may range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on the scope of services.
  • Litigation Costs: If a lawsuit is necessary, costs can increase significantly, potentially exceeding $5,000 to $10,000 or more.

Additional expenses may include:

  • Court Filing Fees: Costs associated with filing legal documents.
  • Administrative Expenses: Charges for document preparation, postage, and other administrative tasks.

Always request a detailed fee agreement and discuss all potential costs upfront to avoid unexpected expenses.

By being thoroughly prepared, you enable the lawyer to assess your situation effectively and provide tailored legal advice to address your credit repair needs.
