I have been working with Mrs. Baker for a few years now. She has represented me both personally and professionally on many different capacities. We have referred her services to friends and family and have all shared the same experiences we have had over and over again. If you are in need of representation, I would highly recommend Mrs. Baker.

I used Ms. Baker on the recommendation of a co worker and it was the best decision I ever made. I had NEVER had legal trouble before in my life and she not only helped me legally with my DUI, but she put my mind at ease that this most embarrassing incident wouldn't affect me for the rest of my life. I cannot recommend her enough! You're not only getting a lawyer who will fight for you in court, but one who personally cares about you as well!

Do you want a lawyer that cares about your well being? How about willing to give you his cell, email and text you everything himself immediately. He is very personable and is a top notch 10/10 attorney. My case this time was fortunately for speeding but I have friends that had recommended him that were charged with felonies and he was able to litigate the best outcome for them to probation with no jail time and allowed to have their records expunged. They wouldn't have recommended him if they were unhappy, trust me. Over 40 years as an attorney speaks for itself, he made me feel comfortable with the procese and even went to court for me via affidavit so I didn't even have to miss work! Thank you Mr. Stringini!!!!! You will be the only attorney I contact from now on!

Jay Reese handled a business case for me. After a very dishonest business refused to pay for services, Mr. Reese was successful at the trial in building a case and I received the money owed. Not only did he do a great job, but he is a great person as well. Lots of integrity and honest. Would recommend highly.

Matt was always available and accessible to me . I felt he really knew the law. He did what he said he would do and got it done when he said he would. Even if the judge made a mistake and found me guilty in the first trial; Matt didn't give up and fought back until he proved my innocence. The end results after a long case I was found Not guilty from criminal charges. False acusations that were created to damage my reputation in a 3 years Custody battle of my precious son such false accusation were fabricated by my ex and her boyfriend. I would recommend Matt to anyone.

Please be careful with the secretary! My father recently contacted this office and he did get his green card through here but the lady tried not once but twice to over charge him my father does not speak very good English and I would go with him I once caught the lady asking for over 500 dollars in a kiss translation from the lawyer the lawyer asked a for a certain number she added the 500 I immediately told my father in front of the lawyer that that was not what he said and corrected the translation then after that, I just thought it might’ve been a mistake from her part. Next thing the lawyer put in the application and we recieved this following letter from the DHS and my father called the lawyer she answered and said he had to pay another 700 because he did not pay everything but my father did! My father did not comply and asked to speak with the lawyer in an appointment! The lawyer verified jhe had paid everything and didn’t have to pay another cent so we left and realized the secretary was at fault at trying to charge my father more reason being we could only assume! Since my father was able to get his green card through here we recommended my grandfather because he wanted to get his citizenship so I would go with him just to be safe! Everything went smooth until right now we have received the same letter my father got saying he didn’t pay the DHS fee but for my grandfather, I’m about to call the office and I’m sure the secretary will again say the same he hasn’t paid everything! We’ll see how this goes and will leave an update! Only reason I’m posting this is because I’m afraid it could happen to a family that’s not aware of this situation! I’m sure she has gotten a few before or else she wouldn’t try it! Update: I did not mention this letter at all to the secretary and asked to speak privately with the lawyer and he said the reason we received this letter was due to my grandfather being a senior and having to pay a little less than he normally would, which is valid, but I would still recommend that if you were to receive a similar letter in the mail speak to the lawyer himself instead of letting the secretary know

I hired Frank to handle my divorce. BIG mistake. We have been going through this process for 10 months and nothing has been resolved. He says my 2500.00 retainer is gone but he will not provide any kind of statement showing how the money was used. Now he has decided to step down and hand this case off to his son Tom. I have never received a statement, never a copy of any motions filed or any orders handed down. No his son wants another large retainer to move forward with the case.Again I have been shone nothing as far as how this case has progressed. If his son is anything like he is I don't want nothing to do with either one of them. I am now being forced to find a new attorney to finish this case. I did not hire his son I hired him. I feel like I have been abandoned during a very difficult time in my life. I would never recommend Frank Valenti to anything, not even to defend a parking ticket.

I have known and used Frank as an attorney for over 20 years. I had him defend me in a criminal case and my divorce. He was always there to answer my questions truthfully and expeditiously. I have read all of his reviews and the bad one is so far from the truth that it must be from the person who Frank was defending against. I have always found him to be responsive to my calls and not someone who was looking for a reason to bill me. If you have any doubts about hiring Frank the next time you are at the courthouse just ask the Deputies or the Clerks about how good an attorney he is and how honest he is. The last think I would say is he isn't retired he is just cutting back on his work load. I saw him last week in Court and called him on the office number to ask a question.

I hired Frank because of a friend’s referral. She told me that he never charged for emails, texts or phone calls. There’s a reason for that: he and his son, Thomas Valenti, aren’t tech savvy or organized enough to bill properly. As a client, I was lucky that they make it to court at all. As my divorce progressed, several major errors were made that were irrevocable. It was obvious that it had been mishandled. I have found both Frank and Thomas Valenti to be highly unethical and the exact type of attorney that someone in a vulnerable position (i.e.: a single mom) should run away from immediately. Communication was horrible, service completely lacking, never got copies of motions or paperwork...simply a joke. Perhaps Frank should stick to criminal law considering he thinks like one. The apple, Thomas, didn’t fall far. They will promise you everything imaginable and not be able to deliver. Doesn’t matter to them as long as there are enough billable hours. Don’t walk, RUN away from the Valenti’s.

What a Criminal Defense Lawyer Can Do for You

A criminal defense lawyer provides legal representation to individuals or organizations accused of criminal conduct. If you're facing criminal charges, a defense lawyer will work to protect your rights, build a defense strategy, and ensure you receive a fair trial. Their primary goal is to reduce or dismiss charges, secure an acquittal, or negotiate a favorable plea deal.

Criminal defense lawyers have extensive knowledge of criminal law and court procedures. They investigate your case, identify weaknesses in the prosecution's evidence, and represent you in court, ensuring that you have the best possible defense.

When Should I Hire a Criminal Defense Lawyer?

It’s crucial to hire a criminal defense lawyer as soon as possible if you are facing any criminal charges. Some situations in which you should seek legal representation include:

  • Arrest or police questioning: If you've been arrested or are under investigation, hiring a lawyer early on can prevent self-incrimination and protect your rights during police questioning.
  • Felony charges: Crimes such as murder, assault, drug trafficking, or robbery carry severe penalties, including long prison sentences. A defense lawyer is essential in these cases.
  • Misdemeanor charges: Even for less serious offenses like DUI, theft, or simple assault, a lawyer can help reduce penalties, negotiate alternatives to jail, or get charges dismissed.
  • Plea negotiations: If you’re considering a plea bargain, a lawyer can evaluate the deal, advise you on its consequences, and negotiate for more favorable terms.
  • Probation or parole violations: If you’ve been accused of violating probation or parole, a lawyer can defend you against additional penalties or revocation.
  • Juvenile offenses: For minors charged with criminal acts, a criminal defense lawyer can protect their future by minimizing legal repercussions or keeping the case in juvenile court.

What Does a Criminal Defense Lawyer Do?

Criminal defense lawyers provide comprehensive legal services to protect their clients’ rights throughout the criminal justice process. Their duties include:

  • Case evaluation and investigation: Reviewing the evidence, interviewing witnesses, and investigating the facts to develop a strong defense strategy.
  • Legal advice: Advising you on your rights, the charges you’re facing, and potential defense strategies, including whether to take a plea deal or go to trial.
  • Negotiating plea bargains: Working with prosecutors to negotiate a plea deal that could reduce charges or minimize penalties.
  • Court representation: Representing you in all court hearings, including bail hearings, pretrial motions, trials, and sentencing hearings.
  • Filing motions: Filing motions to dismiss charges, suppress evidence, or reduce bail, depending on the specifics of your case.
  • Trial preparation and defense: Preparing a defense strategy and presenting arguments, evidence, and witnesses during trial to contest the prosecution's case.
  • Appeals: If you are convicted, a defense lawyer can appeal the conviction or sentence, arguing errors in the trial process or legal rulings.

How Are Criminal Defense Lawyers Paid?

Criminal defense lawyers generally charge clients in one of three ways, depending on the complexity of the case and the lawyer’s experience. Payment structures include:

  • Flat fee: For straightforward cases (e.g., minor misdemeanors), some lawyers charge a one-time flat fee that covers all aspects of the defense.
  • Hourly rate: For more complex or ongoing cases, lawyers may charge by the hour, with rates varying based on the lawyer’s experience and geographic location.
  • Retainer fee: In cases where extensive work is expected, the client may pay a retainer fee upfront. The lawyer then bills against that retainer for their work on the case.

The cost of criminal defense services can vary greatly, so it’s important to discuss fees during your initial consultation.

How Much Does a Criminal Defense Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a criminal defense lawyer depends on several factors, including the severity of the charges, the complexity of the case, and the lawyer’s experience. General cost guidelines are:

  • Misdemeanor cases: For relatively minor offenses, such as a DUI or petty theft, a flat fee may range from $1,500 to $5,000.
  • Felony cases: More serious charges, such as assault or drug trafficking, can range from $10,000 to $100,000 or more, depending on the complexity and duration of the case.
  • Hourly rates: For cases billed by the hour, lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on their expertise and the case's location.
  • Additional expenses: You may also be responsible for other costs, such as filing fees, expert witness fees, or the cost of private investigators.

Be sure to clarify the lawyer’s fee structure and any potential additional costs during your consultation.

Top Questions to Ask a Criminal Defense Lawyer

Before hiring a criminal defense lawyer, you’ll want to ensure that they’re a good fit for your case. Here are key questions to ask:

  1. What is your experience with cases like mine?
Make sure the lawyer has a strong track record with the specific type of criminal charges you’re facing, whether it’s DUI, drug offenses, or violent crimes.
  2. What is your fee structure?
Ask how the lawyer charges for their services and whether you’ll be responsible for any additional costs.
  3. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
A good lawyer should provide an honest assessment of your case and the likelihood of dismissal, a plea bargain, or conviction.
  4. How many cases have you taken to trial?
While many criminal cases settle with a plea deal, it’s important to hire a lawyer with courtroom experience in case your case goes to trial.
  5. Who will handle my case?
Ask if the lawyer will be personally involved or if other attorneys in the firm will handle most of the work.
  6. How do you communicate with your clients?
Be clear on how often and through what channels you can expect updates on your case.

How to Check the Credibility of a Criminal Defense Lawyer

To verify the credibility of a criminal defense lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Check their standing with the state bar: Confirm that the lawyer is licensed and in good standing with your state’s bar association. Look for any past disciplinary actions or complaints.
  • Read online reviews and testimonials: Platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google can provide insights from previous clients about the lawyer’s communication, professionalism, and case outcomes.
  • Ask for references: A reputable lawyer should have past clients or other professionals who can speak to their competence and work ethic.
  • Review their case history: Look at the lawyer’s website or professional profile to see their experience with criminal cases, including high-profile or complex cases.
  • Look for trial experience: If your case might go to trial, make sure the lawyer has a strong history of courtroom advocacy and success.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your first consultation with a criminal defense lawyer, bring the following:

  • Details of your case: Be prepared to provide a detailed account of the charges against you, including any documents related to your arrest, police reports, and court dates.
  • Criminal history: If you have any prior criminal convictions, inform your lawyer so they can understand how that may affect your current case.
  • List of witnesses or evidence: If there are any potential witnesses or evidence that may support your defense, share this information during the consultation.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Prepare questions about their experience, legal strategy, and fees to ensure you understand how they will handle your case.
  • Bail or release documents: If you’ve been released on bail, bring any paperwork related to your release conditions or restrictions.

By being well-prepared, you can help your lawyer quickly assess your situation and begin building an effective defense strategy.
