We chose Mark Andrews law firm for our son’s reckless driving citation. This could have had a severe impact on his ability to drive and the cost of insurance. Mark represented our son in court. Very disappointed in Mr Barlow and his handling of my daughters case - he was good as long as he was with the judge he wanted but when he was moved to another judge he sat like a bump on a log and did nothing - he did no defense or challenged the prosecutor in any way - he told me later that the outcome would have been totally different if the case had not been moved which I believe was done intentionally as this case had to do with drug court -which all this will hopefully be exposed soon- my daughter talked to several lawyers before choosing Mr Barlow who bragged on himself and took our money but then failed horribly in the court room - I do not even want yo give 1 star to be honest!

I dealt with his para legal Miss Whitmore who walked me through the entire process, she explained whar would be needed and the time frames. I was kept up to date on any changes. she was very friendly and pleasant ,answered all of my questions and messages in a very timely manner. We went to court and my case was dismissed. The judge made a comment that all documentation and driving course that she would have recommended had been completed. I believe this was all due to the guidance of Mr. Barlow And Miss Whitmore. Their expertise and knowledge Made the entire process smooth. This outcome means my driving record.Will show the ticket was dismissed and also my insurance did not go up due to the driving course which they had advised me to do. I was referred to Mr Pettrey by my personal lawyer regarding a formal separation with my husband. My lawyer could not handle the case because in the past he had done work for us both . Mr Pettrey is a no nonsense , determined lawyer that WILL yield results for his client. My husband did not want to do anything , tried to change the terms of our agreement . Mr. Pettrey is aggressive and did not waiver . Not only did my ex have to adhere to the agreement , Mr. Pettrey was able to have him pay legal fees as well . Ms.Lu Aloupas is awesome. I am a father/Soldier that lives in North Carolina that was enduring alot of resistance from my children's Mother that lives in Virginia regarding Custody/Visitation. I called Lu Aloupas and explained to her everything that was going on and she jumped right on it. We then went to court on the day and she held her ground on what I told her I wanted and now instead of me only getting to see my kids 3 times a year I now get them every other week and more. Lu Aloupas is an extraordinary lawyer.
I had an issue with a neighbor who asked the court to grant a Protective Order against me.
I was innocent, but I did not have the knowledge to fight this on my own.
Based on online reviews, I decided to call The Law Offices 0f Lu Aloupas. This is the best decision I’ve made in a long time.
In our first phone call she patiently listened to my jumbled story (I was nervous) and then advised me what to do immediately. She then asked if I would like to come to her office (she has offices in Hampton and Chesapeake) and because she sounded so knowledgeable (and calm) I agreed.
When I met her in the Hampton office we went through the basics of the case and then she asked if I would like to retain her services. We discussed the price, and I agreed. Here is my opinion about the cost. Of course I think that lawyers make waaaay to much money. But as I found out, if you don’t hire a lawyer, you will be overwhelmed by the system, and by stress. Her prices are fair. There might be a cheaper lawyer, and I know there are more expensive lawyers, but her value in my case totally justified the cost.
My case was heard at the York County Circuit Court. On the date of the court hearing we met before the scheduled time and she explained exactly what would happen. She said “I know you are nervous, but stay as calm as you can.” I thought that’s easy for her to say. She told me to not be surprised if the other party changes his story, it happens all the time. She said not to react to this, that she would handle it. Just listening to her gave me confidence and remarkably, I was less nervous.
From the beginning the outcome never seemed to be in doubt. The other party represented himself (huge mistake) and Lu was like a TV lawyer. You honor “Motion to Separate”, objection your honor “Relevance”, Move to Strike Your Honor “Hearsay”. The Judge sided with Lu every time. The Judge dismissed the request for a protective order against me and restored all my rights. I was like someone lifted a building off my shoulders.
You might have heard the saying that nobody likes lawyers until you need one. I can personally testify that if you are involved in any legal action you need a lawyer.
And if you need a great lawyer, at a fair price, I can, without reservation or hesitation, recommend Ms. Lu Aloupas, Esquire.

Mr. Woods handled my DUI case very well. He met with me twice prior to the first court date, and again the day before to refresh his memory. At the trial he was excellent throughout, pointing out inconsistencies in the police officer's testimony that, in my opinion, had the judge on the verge of acquittal. Mr. Woods's fees are reasonable and I recommend him without question.

I appreciate everything that Dunnigan Law has done to keep a minor mistake from becoming so much more. I got charged with a speeding ticket going 45 over in a 70. Dunnigan helped me in my time of need and did the impossible, I thought, which was to avoid jail time and community service. I’m giving Mr. Dunnigan a 5 Star because not only did he provide excellent attention to details in my son case he also was understanding. Long story short a criminal domestic matter between my son and the mother of his child where lies were told and possibly could have cost him and myself our freedom was expertly dismantled in court and all charges dismissed. Even-though Mr. Dunnigan only represented my son and NOT me, he still conveyed a strong enough case that worked to my benefit as well and resulted in the dismissal of ALL charges. The case was a 4 in one debacle where everyone had charges on each other but the questions formulated by Mr. Dunnigan provided sufficient evidence for the lies told to be exposed. I will absolutely use Mr. Dunnigan in a criminal defense again. The case was Assault & Battery.

After calling many different law firms about an ongoing court case, I started to believe that all lawyers are interested in, is money. Some paralegals barely listened to what I had to say, then hastily gave me wrong information and kicked me off the phone. That happened until I contacted Dunnigan law firm. I talked to Amanda; let me tell you, she was knowledgeable, friendly, yet professional. I have been using the wrong jargon regarding what I was trying to file, until she corrected and explained to me that I was using the wrong term. She educated me on the difference between counter sue and counter charge which made complete sense. I was so worried about his situation until she enlightened and pointed me in the right direction. She never mentioned fees to me. She was genuine, caring and empathized with my situation. Because of her, I will be referring people to this law firm and if I need a lawyer, I will definitely retain them. Thank you so very much Amanda. I was going through a very difficult extended divorce. My first lawyer and I did not see eye-to-eye, I found Lu through a Google search and I am so thankful! Lu took over and fixed everything. My divorce involved a difficult custody battle, military assets, property, retirement accounts, and more. Lu was knowledgeable, sweet, personable, and always showed up ready to battle despite the numerous continuations of the other party. Lu showed an amazing presence with the other attorneys and judges. First of all, may I compliment on how awesome he is??? The most affordable lawyer I have ever seen for a case like this. So affordable I don't even want to post how little my fiancé (at the time) had to pay in case he changes his rate into the future. That's how affordable and fair he is. If you have a lazy gold digger for a wife who wants to take your money bone dry he is definitely your man. I would say he is the best divorce lawyer in Hampton Roads. The best quality and price that I have ever seen. And he will end it! End it! End it!!!! He got her to agree to terms of my fiancé to sign...and this is a woman who initially wanted to murder him! I thought I was saving a life when we met. Anyway...
I know he thinks he was always in email corrospondance with my fiancé but it was always me that emailed him, found him in the first place and made things looked like my fiancé had sent it. I did it out of love *sigh* at the time *sigh*. Only thing he ever did when it came to you was verbally speak. Never email. You were always speaking to yours truly. I'm just really good with writing things. Kinda my schtick.
I wasn't impressed with any other 10 or so lawyers I checked out, some even in person...I thought he was screwed. Lol. Because my fiancé at the time had no money because he pays child support and apparently still doesn't understand responsibility until he has to get it court ordered. Which I think is ridiculous. Who likes court??? Mark is your man. He can handle it. He may be the only one that I could ever envision to be chipper in court. Probably because he knows he's going to win. Lol:

I will never walk into another courtroom without Cara. I reached out to her about my husband's case and hired her on the spot. She immediately got to work filing motions the next day. This man was a GAL for my children. While my ex husband's lawyer put interesting and dishonest twists on my words (someone from her office even prank called me asking for my ex husband's wife and giggling the night before court) and I even felt like my own attorney wasn't very vested in my children at the heart of it, I felt like Brian was the most honest person in the room that worked within the court system. My children trusted him. It's quite possible that he, not my attorney, helped my case more than anything. For anyone reading, utilize the Divorce University Online Podcast like your Bible and keep your focus on your children and give no attention to distractions opposing counsel may throw your way unless it's seriously warranted. Keep your children at heart. It's not you you're representing in that courtroom. You are essentially standing proxy for your children. Request a GAL if you can, be honest, and your children are blessed if this is their GAL. Here I go for another round in the court room and maybe the new GAL can help my daughter. If he wasn't my children's GAL before, I'd hire him as an attorney to represent me because he will have your children's back. Since most comments are always complaints about people (natural way people work), I thought I'd leave a deserved review.

Should be given ZERO stars. This attorney and his co attorney at the time MSternberg, both gave false hope, inaccurate information, false promises, questionable attorney client privilege actions, including allowing my ex to speak to them at their office during the divorce process. Was also given false information regarding the trial, the rules of the court for contested divorces were not followed, which would be reason to ask for a continuance, yet they never asked the court, and despite being told in multiple emails that they would request the divorce trial date be continued, that I made them aware of months ahead of the date, that didn't happen. Due to their negligence, misrepresentation and failure to do their due diligence in legal representation, my ex was given primary physical custody of our child. They did not zealously defend all the lies and misinformation that was told by the opposing counsel, nor my ex, under oath, on the stand, nor was any evidence presented in my case. Completely untrustworthy and questionable lawyer in child custody representation based on actual facts of what happened during my case. I lost money, precious personal belongings, was further abused by my ex, and lost irreplaceable time with my child. If mine is a one off case compared to others that he represented, that clearly says something about it that is even more concerning.

While you continue to aid abusers in keeping their victims in a perpetual state of financial, emotional, and mental distress. Thank God for my doctors at the VA and advocates who have helped maintain my mental health despite the clear distress not only the abuse but also the post separation abuse has caused me. While my fashion choices in court may have more of an impact on a judges decision, I managed to avoid the jail time you were requesting because I advocate for the use of medical marijuana as a veteran with PTSD, I served my country honorably. And I have always financially supported my children which is another reason I was not thrown in jail like my abuser wants so badly to see. You use shady tactics along with the GAL who failed to do a thorough investigation, and you two seem quite friendly in and out of court working together to shame me and avoid my abuser taking accountability for something he no longer admits to doing since your law firm began handling this case. My grandmother died of cancer in 2021 just a few weeks after we broke the news to her about what happened in court. She told me to keep fighting…and I will for her and my two kids.

I’m not one to usually write reviews, but under these circumstances it seems appropriate. I hired ms Shannon to represent my sister on a motion to reconsider and at the beginning she seemed very sincere in her desire to help. Something had changed once she got paid and it seemed like i was working for her instead of her working for me. After all it must be a very strenuous process to write a letter under these current times we live in. My sister by no means is a bad person she suffers from addiction and nothing more then a possession charge. My father has been in and out of the hospital for the past 4 months and will soon pass without seeing his daughter again. I have lived in another state for years and get back to visit pretty regularly. However i cannot stay full time to help out. It took her three weeks to get the motion ready after i had given her information about the second part of my sister sentence which is a useless subcontracted state run reintroduction program. After waiting the 3 weeks and finally seeing the motion she wrote it wasn’t even close to the information i had given her. The state i was living in was wrong, my fathers ailments and the severity of them was incorrect. I had given up at that point and decided to accept things as they are. I am aware that most individuals usually have things going on in their lives which prevent them from being present, however i would not recommend her under any circumstances . She appears to Andy be in it for a buck and she is really not that good at it. Her assistant was very pretentious and you would think she is the one with the law degree.

As an out of state driver that was ticketed in Virginia, I was concerned that I would not be able to keep the ticket off my record. I hired Kristen Shannon by phone and we had several conversations about the importance of keeping the ticket off my record. Kristen suggested that I provide a clean driving abstract, do an online defensive driving school and let her do the rest. I'm happy to report that Kristen was able to have my speeding ticket dismissed with no further cost, and no damage to my driving record. The lawyers of this lawfirm argued this is court "the “unfortunate reality” that teaching in the United States — even for first grade teachers like Zwerner — isn’t without its dangers". At no point should any person considering becoming a teach expect that their future school administrators will brush off an identifiable threat rather than take action. It's a shame that this law firm thinks that teachers should just expect to be shot with a gun by their students. Diane Toscano, Jeffrey Breit, Kevin Biniazan and the school district they represent are morally bankrupt. I will never use them again, and I implore others to do the same.

If you care about you best chances avoid Ron Slaven! The rest of the staff are nice. Slaven is not worth the price and most likely won’t use any evidence in court that you’re paying for and will not use any evidence you give him or legal aid. Most important he will not update you how he will proceed to handle the case. John and Janet and Angel are much better. Avoid Ron Slaven he even forgot to bring up my only witness and did not use one single document or evidence that he printed out or document you pay for such as police, medical, or legal documents. He wings it the day before unprepared, forgetful, and used no evidence that I ended up paying $2,000 for he never brought it up in court. He only cares about money not you don’t make the same mistake.

I hired Ronnie to do a custody case for me.He was well prepared at the hearing. Slaven didn't think a judge would go for my case. The case has gone into settlement. Slaven has done everything I have asked of him.I have been given copies of all the paperwork done for my case. I have been kept up to date on very aspect of the case. I have monthly statements.
