Mark is one of the most proficient and calculated lawyers ever. Would say he doesn’t boast how efficient he is so I’ll speak for him. He fights tooth and nail for you and knows his work. Was referred to him from my personal lawyer and he’s worth every cent he requests. Almost like after he’s done you may feel you owe him more the way he represents you in the court no matter what evidence may or may not against you. Dismissal was my result. It’s rare you see a judge smile at how a defense attorney present and represent his client thru trial. Mr. Andrews is one of kind. You will not be disappointed!

I was referred to Mr Pettrey by my personal lawyer regarding a formal separation with my husband. My lawyer could not handle the case because in the past he had done work for us both . Mr Pettrey is a no nonsense , determined lawyer that WILL yield results for his client. My husband did not want to do anything , tried to change the terms of our agreement . Ms.Lu Aloupas is awesome. I am a father/Soldier that lives in North Carolina that was enduring alot of resistance from my children's Mother that lives in Virginia regarding Custody/Visitation. I called Lu Aloupas and explained to her everything that was going on and she jumped right on it. We then went to court on the day and she held her ground on what I told her I wanted and now instead of me only getting to see my kids 3 times a year I now get them every other week and more. Lu Aloupas is an extraordinary lawyer.
I had an issue with a neighbor who asked the court to grant a Protective Order against me.
I was innocent, but I did not have the knowledge to fight this on my own.
Based on online reviews, I decided to call The Law Offices 0f Lu Aloupas. This is the best decision I’ve made in a long time.
In our first phone call she patiently listened to my jumbled story (I was nervous) and then advised me what to do immediately. She then asked if I would like to come to her office (she has offices in Hampton and Chesapeake) and because she sounded so knowledgeable (and calm) I agreed.
When I met her in the Hampton office we went through the basics of the case and then she asked if I would like to retain her services. We discussed the price, and I agreed. Here is my opinion about the cost. Of course I think that lawyers make waaaay to much money. But as I found out, if you don’t hire a lawyer, you will be overwhelmed by the system, and by stress. Her prices are fair. There might be a cheaper lawyer, and I know there are more expensive lawyers, but her value in my case totally justified the cost.
My case was heard at the York County Circuit Court. On the date of the court hearing we met before the scheduled time and she explained exactly what would happen. She said “I know you are nervous, but stay as calm as you can.” I thought that’s easy for her to say. She told me to not be surprised if the other party changes his story, it happens all the time. She said not to react to this, that she would handle it. Just listening to her gave me confidence and remarkably, I was less nervous.
From the beginning the outcome never seemed to be in doubt. The other party represented himself (huge mistake) and Lu was like a TV lawyer. You honor “Motion to Separate”, objection your honor “Relevance”, Move to Strike Your Honor “Hearsay”. The Judge sided with Lu every time. The Judge dismissed the request for a protective order against me and restored all my rights. I was like someone lifted a building off my shoulders.
You might have heard the saying that nobody likes lawyers until you need one. I can personally testify that if you are involved in any legal action you need a lawyer.
And if you need a great lawyer, at a fair price, I can, without reservation or hesitation, recommend Ms. Lu Aloupas, Esquire.

First of all, may I compliment on how awesome he is??? The most affordable lawyer I have ever seen for a case like this. So affordable I don't even want to post how little my fiancé (at the time) had to pay in case he changes his rate into the future. That's how affordable and fair he is. In all fairness, I did his filing for him. Haha
If you have a lazy gold digger for a wife who wants to take your money bone dry he is definitely your man. I would say he is the best divorce lawyer in Hampton Roads. The best quality and price that I have ever seen. And he will end it! End it! End it!!!! He got her to agree to terms of my fiancé to sign...and this is a woman who initially wanted to murder him! I thought I was saving a life when we met. Anyway...
I know he thinks he was always in email corrospondance with my fiancé but it was always me that emailed him, found him in the first place and made things looked like my fiancé had sent it. I did it out of love *sigh* at the time *sigh*. Only thing he ever did when it came to you was verbally speak. Never email. You were always speaking to yours truly. I'm just really good with writing things. Kinda my schtick.
I wasn't impressed with any other 10 or so lawyers I checked out, some even in person...I thought he was screwed. Lol. Because my fiancé at the time had no money because he pays child support and apparently still doesn't understand responsibility until he has to get it court ordered. Which I think is ridiculous. Who likes court??? Mark is your man. He can handle it. He may be the only one that I could ever envision to be chipper in court. Probably because he knows he's going to win. Lol:
So glad I found him because prior to him, he had another lawyer I literally fired. So when I found this website I remembered I forgot to rate the poor man! Mark! Here's a read so long it will make up the time it took for me to actually rate you.
Finally, a message to Mark. You did such a wonderful name on my fiancé's case. I really really appreciate you more than you will ever know. I was raised around lawyers my entire life and you are such a JOY to be around! Most lawyers are such a snore or they're scary. You did a great job assuring a lost man, that you could turn his life around. I was in love with him. You did great! And for that, I forever thank you. But wasn't that the best filing job, you've ever seen??? I did that to save on cost and time. Best of luck to you and your family.

Mr. Woods handled my DUI case very well. He met with me twice prior to the first court date, and again the day before to refresh his memory. At the trial he was excellent throughout, pointing out inconsistencies in the police officer's testimony that, in my opinion, had the judge on the verge of acquittal. Mr. Woods's fees are reasonable and I recommend him without question.

Mr Short and his secretary were very responsive and helpful. He recommended I do some things to help with my case. He showed up promptly before the court hearing and quickly got my reckless speeding (20 over in a bad spot that’s heavily patrolled) reduced to improper driving.

We had a friend who skipped out on probation when he was released back in 2020. He has been incarcerated for almost 2 months. We drove from NC for the hearing and James explained everything in detail from the best case scenario to the worst, depending on the Judge. He later told us he liked the judge and that there was a good chance our friend would get out that day. Everything went just as he said and we were able to take him back to NC that evening. James was great, he did not sugar coat anything and we could not be more happy with the result. If you are looking for a great lawyer this is the one. Thanks James.

Very disappointed in Mr Barlow and his handling of my daughters case - he was good as long as he was with the judge he wanted but when he was moved to another judge he sat like a bump on a log and did nothing - he did no defense or challenged the prosecutor in any way - he told me later that the outcome would have been totally different if the case had not been moved which I believe was done intentionally as this case had to do with drug court -which all this will hopefully be exposed soon- my daughter talked to several lawyers before choosing Mr Barlow who bragged on himself and took our money but then failed horribly in the court room - I do not even want yo give 1 star to be honest!

I received a ticket for an accident that was my fault. A friend recommended that I contact Mr. Barlow. I dealt with his para legal Miss Whitmore who walked me through the entire process, she explained whar would be needed and the time frames. I was kept up to date on any changes. she was very friendly and pleasant ,answered all of my questions and messages in a very timely manner. We went to court and my case was dismissed. The judge made a comment that all documentation and driving course that she would have recommended had been completed. I believe this was all due to the guidance of Mr. Barlow And Miss Whitmore. Their expertise and knowledge Made the entire process smooth. This outcome means my driving record.Will show the ticket was dismissed and also my insurance did not go up due to the driving course which they had advised me to do. DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY …. These people use to call me everyday trying to get me to hire them and when I finally did I never got a phone call back again lol was told that once I hire them my court date would be pushed back just to come to find out they never pushed it back and now I have acapius out for me and have to turn myself in after I. Called almost everyday to make sure I didn’t have to go to court on my original date and was told “not to worry about it we got it tooken care of” thank god I checked online for myself because like I said they have never communicated with me after payment like never not even once literally. Even asked for a refund because I was fed up and the lady told me she can’t do that unless the attorney is there yea I still have yet to even talk to the attorney myself this place is a complete scam I would’ve been better off with a court appointed lawyer

Why do you hire a lawyer? To get a favorable outcome on your day in court. This is what Brian and his team at Dunnigan Law delivered for me.
When I took my case to them, Brian listened to the story of what happened (reckless driving charge and fail to stop at a stop sign charge) and then gave sound advice before even discussing his fee. Having spoken to other attorneys who went right to a sales pitch about "why them" and their fee structure, this personal touch caused me to hire Brian on the spot (his fee is reasonable too, by the way).
He and his team then advised what steps I should take before my court date to give us the best chance of a win on the day.
While there was a moment I wish Brian himself had communicated a bit better with me about the process on the day, it turned out to be fairly straight forward so I have decided not to bump this review down to 4 stars based on that one blemish... After all, why do you hire a lawyer? To get a the best outcome in court, and this is what Brian delivered. My reckless charge was reduced to a mere speeding fine, and the fail to stop charge dismissed.
All in all, I recommend Brian and his team to anyone who needs a lawyer. A big thank you to him and his team!

I was going through a very difficult extended divorce. My first lawyer and I did not see eye-to-eye, I found Lu through a Google search and I am so thankful! Lu took over and fixed everything. My divorce involved a difficult custody battle, military assets, property, retirement accounts, and more. Lu was knowledgeable, sweet, personable, and always showed up ready to battle despite the numerous continuations of the other party. Lu showed an amazing presence with the other attorneys and judges. She always had a light and calmness to her when the situation was so heavy and dark. I am very happy with the outcome of my case. This man was a GAL for my children. While my ex husband's lawyer put interesting and dishonest twists on my words (someone from her office even prank called me asking for my ex husband's wife and giggling the night before court) and I even felt like my own attorney wasn't very vested in my children at the heart of it, I felt like Brian was the most honest person in the room that worked within the court system. My children trusted him. It's quite possible that he, not my attorney, helped my case more than anything. For anyone reading, utilize the Divorce University Online Podcast like your Bible and keep your focus on your children and give no attention to distractions opposing counsel may throw your way unless it's seriously warranted. Keep your children at heart. It's not you you're representing in that courtroom. You are essentially standing proxy for your children. Request a GAL if you can, be honest, and your children are blessed if this is their GAL. Here I go for another round in the court room and maybe the new GAL can help my daughter. If he wasn't my children's GAL before, I'd hire him as an attorney to represent me because he will have your children's back. Since most comments are always complaints about people (natural way people work), I thought I'd leave a deserved review.

Should be given ZERO stars. This attorney and his co attorney at the time MSternberg, both gave false hope, inaccurate information, false promises, questionable attorney client privilege actions, including allowing my ex to speak to them at their office during the divorce process. Was also given false information regarding the trial, the rules of the court for contested divorces were not followed, which would be reason to ask for a continuance, yet they never asked the court, and despite being told in multiple emails that they would request the divorce trial date be continued, that I made them aware of months ahead of the date, that didn't happen. Due to their negligence, misrepresentation and failure to do their due diligence in legal representation, my ex was given primary physical custody of our child. They did not zealously defend all the lies and misinformation that was told by the opposing counsel, nor my ex, under oath, on the stand, nor was any evidence presented in my case. Completely untrustworthy and questionable lawyer in child custody representation based on actual facts of what happened during my case. I lost money, precious personal belongings, was further abused by my ex, and lost irreplaceable time with my child. If mine is a one off case compared to others that he represented, that clearly says something about it that is even more concerning.

Brian Thommasson advocates for abusers and perpetuates post separation abuse.
Yes, I have time because you helped my abuser take the custody of my two young children from me and are still trying to take my legal custody. And you can continue to try to tarnish my character I am still going to advocate for myself as a mother and domestic violence survivor. While you continue to aid abusers in keeping their victims in a perpetual state of financial, emotional, and mental distress. No wonder I have panic attacks in court that could require medical attention. Thank God all those officers were so calm and reassuring. Gas and food prices are extremely high, yet I drive over 4hrs in traffic every other week just to be with them for less than 72hrs. No wonder post pandemic and mid worst inflation this country has seen in my adult life I am struggling to afford the third child support increase you have helped my abuser obtain considering I was mostly a stay at home mom and navy veteran surviving on disability and the help of my friends and family. Thank God for my doctors at the VA and advocates who have helped maintain my mental health despite the clear distress not only the abuse but also the post separation abuse has caused me. While my fashion choices in court may have more of an impact on a judges decision, I managed to avoid the jail time you were requesting because I advocate for the use of medical marijuana as a veteran with PTSD, I served my country honorably. And I have always financially supported my children which is another reason I was not thrown in jail like my abuser wants so badly to see. You use shady tactics along with the GAL who failed to do a thorough investigation, and you two seem quite friendly in and out of court working together to shame me and avoid my abuser taking accountability for something he no longer admits to doing since your law firm began handling this case. My grandmother died of cancer in 2021 just a few weeks after we broke the news to her about what happened in court. She told me to keep fighting…and I will for her and my two kids.

I’m not one to usually write reviews, but under these circumstances it seems appropriate. I hired ms Shannon to represent my sister on a motion to reconsider and at the beginning she seemed very sincere in her desire to help. Something had changed once she got paid and it seemed like i was working for her instead of her working for me. After all it must be a very strenuous process to write a letter under these current times we live in. My sister by no means is a bad person she suffers from addiction and nothing more then a possession charge. My father has been in and out of the hospital for the past 4 months and will soon pass without seeing his daughter again. I have lived in another state for years and get back to visit pretty regularly. However i cannot stay full time to help out. It took her three weeks to get the motion ready after i had given her information about the second part of my sister sentence which is a useless subcontracted state run reintroduction program. After waiting the 3 weeks and finally seeing the motion she wrote it wasn’t even close to the information i had given her. The state i was living in was wrong, my fathers ailments and the severity of them was incorrect. I had given up at that point and decided to accept things as they are. I am aware that most individuals usually have things going on in their lives which prevent them from being present, however i would not recommend her under any circumstances . She appears to Andy be in it for a buck and she is really not that good at it. Her assistant was very pretentious and you would think she is the one with the law degree.

As an out of state driver that was ticketed in Virginia, I was concerned that I would not be able to keep the ticket off my record. I hired Kristen Shannon by phone and we had several conversations about the importance of keeping the ticket off my record. Kristen suggested that I provide a clean driving abstract, do an online defensive driving school and let her do the rest. I'm happy to report that Kristen was able to have my speeding ticket dismissed with no further cost, and no damage to my driving record. Thank you, and although I hope to not need your services for a traffic violation, if I ever do, I am sure to call!!

I am an extremely satisfied Commercial Driver of 20 years!!! Attorney Shannon's knowledge of the charge I was ticketed with and the assurance that this would not follow me into my future, put my mind at ease. Every question concerning my case was answered before my court date. She and her staff were personable and very professional. I live in the Richmond area of Virginia, and had to call at least 7 attorneys in the Va Beach Area and Attorney Shannon was the best choice !!! I have hired C. Eric Plumlee for numerous issues as he has earned my trust. Nice quaint office, he works well for me needs. I really appreciate that he keeps a Bible in the reception area. I've never seen any other lawyer do that and it meshed with my faith and values. We have a good relationship and I recommend his practice.

The lawyers of this lawfirm argued this is court "the “unfortunate reality” that teaching in the United States — even for first grade teachers like Zwerner — isn’t without its dangers". At no point should any person considering becoming a teach expect that their future school administrators will brush off an identifiable threat rather than take action. It's a shame that this law firm thinks that teachers should just expect to be shot with a gun by their students. Diane Toscano, Jeffrey Breit, Kevin Biniazan and the school district they represent are morally bankrupt. I will never use them again, and I implore others to do the same.

I have hired Mr. Barlow twice now, and he has done a great job of communicating with me and got me some of the best deals possible with the prosecutor that he could have gotten.
He is always very nice when I go in to talk with him and has a calm demeanor. If I ever hear of anyone with legal problems, I give them his card.
I've hired 5 other lawyers in my life and none have been nearly as professional as Mr. Barlow.

This lawyer Wes ver unprofessional, He waited until he used all of my money unti he told me that he was not going to be able to help me. He schedule two appts. for me and he waited that day of and cancel both appt. at the last minute and I took of work both days and I had to take him to court and ended up firing him be cause I was very dissatisfied. If you care about you best chances avoid Ron Slaven! The rest of the staff are nice. Slaven is not worth the price and most likely won’t use any evidence in court that you’re paying for and will not use any evidence you give him or legal aid. Most important he will not update you how he will proceed to handle the case. John and Janet and Angel are much better. Avoid Ron Slaven he even forgot to bring up my only witness and did not use one single document or evidence that he printed out or document you pay for such as police, medical, or legal documents. He wings it the day before unprepared, forgetful, and used no evidence that I ended up paying $2,000 for he never brought it up in court. He only cares about money not you don’t make the same mistake.
