Attorney Sills was incredible. Not only is he personable and guided me through the uncomfortable and stressful process without a hitch, but he also knows his stuff and his knowledge made the difference in my case. I did not know about the "clean slate" act. I had a misstep as a young man 20 years ago, and it would have affected my case. Attorney Sills argued my past charge should not be taken into account because of the Clean Slate Act, and because of that I was treated as a first offender. I was handed down a much more manageable consequence as a result. I'm dumb for the mistake I made, but overall I'm a good law abiding citizen and family Man, and I needed his help to guide me through this. If I tried to save money and go at it myself, I would have not known that and would have been given a much stiffer punishment. Having Attorney Sills on my side made all the difference.
Another reason I liked working with Mr. Sills was because he was trustworthy. I spoke with a different lawyer before I called Attorney Sills. That lawyer said my case should be $10,000 but he would "cut me a deal for $8,000 because I was a veteran". SMH, I felt like I was buying a used car. I then called Attorney Sills and he was a straight shooter, it was just "here's our rate", no haggling, this is what it is. I liked that a lot, and the price was half the price of the other guy who supposedly "was cutting me a deal". He's fair, friendly, and knows his stuff. He and his paralegal team were very communicative with all the steps in the process, all I needed to do was follow their direction and I was good to go.
One last thing I liked, which seemed to help although I never discussed it with him. He is local to the greater Hartford area and seems to knows these folks well. The prosecutor, the judges, Bail commissioner, etc. He seems to have everyone's respect, and when negotiating a case that personal touch has got to matter somewhat I would guess. I don't know how much difference it made, but it did give me comfort that he seemed to know the room and they seemed to know him.
All in all, I can't say enough about the guy. I know this may sound embelished like I'm his Aunt writing a review or something, but trust me, I'm a real dude. A 45 year old Army Vet, football Coach, career in sales. I'm a legit person who was very fortunate to have made the decision to go with Mr. Sills. I never stop to write reviews but after how great he was, I had to leave him a top rated review, he deserves it and I couldn't be more thankful for his help.
On his Website, he has a phrase that says something along the lines of, "Don't allow your life to be ruined because of one mistake". Theat originally caught my eye because overall I'm a family man that made a rare mistake but shouldn't be ruined for it. Exactly what that phrase said is what happened. I did have some consequences as I should have, but my life is not ruined from it and I am able to stay afloat and get back on track moving forward thanks to Attorney Sills.
If you ever find yourself in a jam, Mr. Sills is your Man. You will not regret it, and hopefully this review helps steer you in the right direction.

So….My accident happened in August, I waited a day to get a lawyer, it was my first accident. I never been through any legal matters in my life. I get a big law firm to represent me and they tell me to keep them posted as I go through everything regarding my accident as far as medical treatment, after about 2 months I find out I need surgery. My wife just had surgery so she is out of work and I’m about to be go on leave. The law firm I hired calls me the day of my wife surgery and tell me they can no longer represent me….it took 2 months to get this info. I’m furious but I can’t waste time I need to find a lawyer, I call 5 law firms and 4 get back to me. The first 3 firms I speak to were almost exactly the same, have me explain my case and have me signed up, so they can start, I was losing hope and I get a call back from Ayme Calderon from Law offices of Michael E. Skiber, she was the first to ask me questions, and to give me insight on how cases like mine work. I hired Attorney Page when my ex boyfriend stole my dog away from me and I had to attend court to get her back. He was very thorough and paid attention to details throughout out my case. I have had a mental health condition for over 25 years now and because I often refused to take my medication I racked up a pretty extensive criminal history. A rap sheet. When I received charges of Robbery, Threatening, and Assault I feared I would be doing some more jail time probably like a year or so.
Fortunately, a bail bondsman recommended Attorney Klein to my wife. We had a consultation with him. After reading the police report and asking me a few questions Atty. Klein immediately noticed that there was no Robbery and no way that a judge would convict me on that charge. Right away he was going to take the felony out of the equation. He also said that because there were mitigating circumstances he could probably get the two misdemeanors of 2nd degree Threatening and 3rd degree Assault reduced to probation. I was confident in his ability after speaking with him and seeing some of his testimonials on the wall in his waiting room. So we retained him.
In the first meeting with the prosecutor, the prosecutor brought to the surface that I had fourteen convictions. I was worried, but confident in my counsel. Atty. Klein did just what he said he was going to do and he got the Robbery charge thrown out. So now we were left with two charges, one of them being violent. Atty. Klein told the prosecutor we could settle with a short amount of probation.
I was still a little worried that the prosecutor might not agree to my Attorney's proposal but Atty. Klein informed me that the prosecutor was considering it based on how the victim reacted.
So we had to wait longer while the victim's advocate did their job. It turns out God was with me because the victim did not want to condemn me but just to see me get some help.
So when all the dust finally cleared after long continuances do to Covid 19. Atty. Klein did exactly what he said he could do in his consultation and the Robbery charge was dismissed and I was able to plead out to two misdemeanors and ended up with a short probation. At the time I was eligible for a public defender, but after years of dealing with court system I know that had I chose to take that course my outcome would not have been as good. A public defender also known as public pretender in the incarceration system and is a state's attorney just as a prosecutor is a state's attorney. In my experience they are just there to facilitate ease of operations between the judge and the prosecutor and the accused. They don't take the time to really hear you out or fight for your case.
If you are facing charges spend the money and hire a good private attorney because in the long run you'll be glad you did.
And if you need to hire a good private attorney hire Atty. Klein in Hartford. He is a powerful lawyer with almost 50 years of experience. He was able to keep me out of jail and he can do it for you too.
