I had recently received a summons from a debt collector. I did not discover this lawsuit until after I began receiving mail from various law firms regarding this. Having been trying to recover my financial stability from the pandemic and the loss of my partner, this was the last thing I needed. One of the solicitation letters came from this office, which I leaned toward due to its locality to me and the overall tone of it. I reached out them, starting the retainer process and then they took it from there, without me having to worry about anything, nor have to appear in court. A couple months later they got the case dismissed.

Back in January 2023, I thought my life was OVER because I got a DUI. My husband was detained by ICE and housed in BTC in Broward, Florida for one year back in 2010. It was unthinkably the most difficult time of my entire life. I went through multiple Attorneys’ (four to be exact) who just took my money and did nothing to help. My husband was not even able to bond out of BTC until a year later. Thankfully, when he did, it was the utmost happiest moment of my life but we knew we could stay with the current Attorney we had because of all the issues and extra money she cost us by refilling petitions based on her own mistakes. We searched up and down for someone who had extraordinary credentials, references and experience. No one willing fully took our case because we had criminal issues, overstay issues, marriage while in detention, etc. Thankfully, we found Attorney Elan Baret. We did not have an easy case and it was voluminous with issues all over. We were completely out of hope and we thought that deportation or voluntary departure would be our only option. We had no support from family and small support from friends, we felt no where close to having a strong case or even a chance. When we first met Mr. Baret his calm and soothing energy renewed our hope and our faith in the US System. Mr. Baret did not run us in circles and he did not play games. He was very straight forward with what we needed to do in terms of paperwork, filings, etc. in order to make our situation satisfactory. We did not have much money and his price seemed extreme, but we know now it was worth every single cent and we would even pay more if we had it with no regrets whatsoever. We did leave his office with a sense of sadness because we felt so strongly about our desire to hire Mr. Baret but we could not afford it. We explained this to Mr. Baret and he made the costs manageable for us by allowing us to make payments in installments. Being that we were so satisfied with his work from the moment we turned our case over to him, we couldn’t help but to pay him in full right away. Mr. Baret and his staff, worked on our case as if it was their own. They truly make it known that every case is a priority. They attach themselves to their clients and they became a part of your family by fighting harder then even your own blood relatives would. They do not leave any stone uncovered and they truly exhaust all possibilities in an attempt to bring forth satisfactory results. We went with this firm because of the rating and reviews - DONT make the same mistake we did…… I live out of state and my parents were based in Florida. We were looking for a group that would make this as seamless and easy as possible. Instead, we got confrontational rude and unprofessional. We dealt with Fernando twice and then he passed us off to his cronie Maribel. Maribel has no business dealing with people in general, especially people that are grieving the loss of their parents and trying to handle an estate from out of state.
Every time my brother or I spoke with this individual, it seemed as if we were a complete bother to her - she was hands down the rudest “ professional “ I have ever had the displeasure of paying to work for us.
Our estate was VERY small $237k - split between 3 youths ( as one share ) and 2 adults and yet we paid them 37k !!!!!!!!! An utterly ridiculous amount !~
Sadly and unfortunate for us , this was a process we knew nothing about and did not interview or research other firms so please do your research before going with these people.

I unfortunately hired this lawyer back in 2022 to assist me with my case. The communication from the start was great. It wasn’t until I paid the initial $2500 fee of the total $5000 that the communication started to become really poor. I would persistently reach out to him for info regarding my case and would hardly hear back from him. My biggest issue was that he advised me that I was being sued for $7000 when in actuality it was close to $14k! Talk about false information. But it doesn’t stop there! He OFFERED to assist me with getting my record expunged after my case closed and did absolutely nothing! I contacted his office and spoke with Jimmi, his assistant only to find out that after 2 months of receiving my application, it was not filed with the SA office. So I took matters into my own hands and did the entire process myself. My record was expunged 2 months after I filed it. Mr. Shwarz told me it would take 6 months! Ha! What a joke.

I had a situation where I was charged with domestic violence in a criminal case and was served with divorce papers within 2 days. Mike handles criminal and family cases and his knowledge of both areas of the law was very helpful to me. My wife filed the domestic violence case in order to get me out of the house and to attempt to gain an advantage in the divorce case. He was able to show the judge in the criminal case that the allegations were all lies and that case was dismissed. This became very helpful in the family case.
