In July of 2020, I was falsely accused of Domestic Violence.
I had no idea what to do here. I was given Maureen's name by a friend of mine. Since I had never been in trouble before I was totally clueless on the way the courts/justice system worked. Maureen explained everything to me basically holding my hand throughout the whole procedure. I didn't realize that a person can be thrown in jail for DV. After this happened to me Maureen was able to get me out of jail very fast. Maureen is a very good attorney that she is easy to talk to, understands the legal system, and can stand up for her client. Maureen was able to convince the prosecuting attorney that there was not enough evidence to go to trial.

Rachel Oliver is the best attorney I've ever had. She was working for the Jefferson County Public Defender's Office at the time. This was my fourth DUI in a lifetime , My last DUI was 20 years ago. I went to AA and treatment and I have been sober for over 2 and 1/2 years. She believed I took responsibility for my actions and I was ready to take the punishment I deserved. I was also looking at a extensive jail sentence, but I ended up with a much shorter sentence. I have had other attorneys over the years that I actually hired and paid. I have never seen or heard of a public defender attorney fighting so hard for their client. I know they are so overwhelmed with clients.. but despite that she spent a lot of time meeting with me and treated me with respect and courtesy. Rachel really cares about all her clients . I feel I owe her so much. I would hire her for anything at any time. I have recommended her to anyone I know that needs an attorney. I would never hire any other attorney except for her! She goes to bat for you, and fight as hard as she can for you. She really, really listens to what you have to say. I could go on and on how great she is , but I would run out of room. I thank her sincerely from the bottom of my heart.

A year and a half ago, my 19-year-old daughter was arrested and initially charged with 18 charges, one of which carried a mandatory sentence of life without parole. I am so glad we hired Rachel. Her and her team worked so hard for her, overturning every stone, peeling back every layer. She fought for my daughter to the very end and we were so fortunate that through her dedication, my daughter was sentenced to probation. Rachel is truly passionate about what she does, and her work and results are a direct reflection of that. She is kind, straightforward, honest, has great people skills, great communication skills and she does not fear or avoid hard work. Rob Sutton handled our small civil matter quickly and efficiently, and I can't say enough good things about him. We had called several other attorneys who had no idea what to do with our case, and who proposed a variety of inappropriate (and ridiculously expensive) solutions.

Excellent lawyer, excellent trial lawyer. I was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor DV. Lost my job and was threatened to loose my means of making a living. The hearing was scheduled three business days into the future. I was able to retain Mr. Tooley in which he pushed the hearing to a future date. He allowed me to make my own decision, after informing of the different directions I could go. I decided to take the case to trial, instead of a diversion program, in which you admit guilty to something your not in my case. Mr. Tooley was very knowledgeable and very professional. I want to start by saying that I did not know whether my case even had a chance of going in my favor, even a little bit. I had never really had a lawyer that I had worked with this closely before, so I didn't know what to do.
I was probably one of the most difficult clients that they've had. Meredith was very patient with me, even though I kept getting frustrated and angry about all of this. She wasn't the type of person to be super effusive and overly reassuring - she was very practical and I needed that. "No, he can't do that." "Yes, that's correct." I was frustrated with the process over and over again, because my ex would say one thing to my face, and then turn around and say something else to her, the mediator, the children, or the court. I want to be clear that I had a lot of responsibility for the situation that required legal proceedings to begin with.
But because of Meredith, I feel like the judge was able to see all of the hard work that I've put in and I ended up getting the most favorable ruling I could have imagined for myself and my children. There's still a long road to go. I have to keep proving every day that I deserve what the judge has granted me, but I don't mind. Meredith had the faith in me that I hadn't experienced from someone involved with this case and she helped me show the court that it was in the children's best interest that the court have faith in me too.
Meredith did her job and she was good at it. But what made Meredith's work on my case so meaningful was that she could look at me like the mother and human being that I am. I didn't feel like a paycheck to her.
I also want to mention Kimberly Kendle. She was Meredith's paralegal for most of the case and she always took the time out to call me and answer the questions that I had. That was really important to me, just to hear back.
I can't go into a lot more details because unfortunately the case is still going in another manner. I can't afford representation anymore, because I honestly couldn't afford it to begin with. But I did want to say that if you are in a similar situation and aren't sure whether or not you can really afford New Leaf I might at least just talk to them. They don't do hourly billing, but monthly and there were fewer surprises. Ultimately I would recommend specifically Meredith and/or Kimberly and even though I can't afford representation anymore I feel like Meredith gave me advice I can take into my pro se part of this journey.

I had an overall positive experience being represented by Nathaniel. I thought that he did a great job behind the scenes working to get the prosecutor to dismiss my case. I wish he had done a little more to let me know what the status of my case was but whenever I had questions, he got back to me and filled me in on the issues that I was worried about. I would give this attorney ZERO stars, but that is impossible. I hired Mr. Baca to represent me in my criminal case. He claims his flat fee is warranted because he is to do the same about of work if the case goes to trial or if a plea is accepted. He advised me to plea. I should of seen that coming. He spent about 10 mins in court with me. He must of spent 30 mins total on my case, and most of that was him notifying the court of his entry of appearance. He never contacted me about my case. I was in jail, and he never spoke with me. He did not review the discovery with me and he did not even formulate a defensive for me. He sure kept that flat fee he charged and he did nothing for me. Nothing. He has not taking a case to trail in over 6 years. . A public defender would serve you better. Save your money. He demonstrated limit knowledge of the law and even less knowledge of court room procedures.

I want to think Nathaniel for the work he did for my brother. My brother was fetching a life sentence in Arapaho. The case ended up taking a couple of years. Nathaniel kept fighting the whole time. He never give up on my brother when he needed it. Nathaniel managed to get a really good offer out of the DA and my brother happily took it. I am getting to see my brother again.

I owe u bigtime!
I had criminal case and went to court without a lawyer. The judge said I needed one, and I saw Mike in court. He looked and talked like the smartest guy there and I talked to him outside. He was real easygoing. Not like most lawyers, who are real dicks. They think they're god's gift, if you know what I mean.
We went to court a bunch of times and nothing. I told Mike, "I can't do jail. I can't do jail. Whatever you got to do to keep me out of jail."
He kept telling me to relax. Let him worry about it.
The day of trial, the DA offered a deal. It was a lot better then the 2 months of jail they wanted before. It was only 30 days staying at home with 2 years probation. Mike told me they didn't have a case and the reason they dropped was because they were weak. I told him 30 days on the ankle monitor was perfect. He said let me see if I can do better. And he made me a deal. He said if he can't do better than 30 days, he would give me all my money back. He went to talk to the DA in the hallway, and I was standing about 10 feet away. The DA offered 10 days, Mike said...."Are you f-ing kidding me. I don't even have to present a defense and we win. Just dismiss it and I'll buy ya lunch. Call it a good day" The DA, who was a real a-hole to me, said, "Come on, what do you want?" Mike said, "Dismiss it...or let's just go to trial. I'm board. I cleared two days for this, so F-it...let's go."
They dropped everything!
Now that's what I'm talking about!
That guy has some big ass balls because I didn't think we had a chance to win the trial. He did.

Michael represented my son in a criminal case and from the moment we first met at his office to the end he was incredible.
He did everything he said he would and more.
When we went to trial, he explained exactly how we were going to win, and it was unbelievable. The district attorney did everything Michael said he would do. Michael had everything covered and the jury loved him. There is something about him that juries love. I don't know what it is. I know he's really cute and very friendly and a nice guy and from just listening to him you know he's super smart. But there's something else about him that people just like him and want to believe him.
I'm so happy for my son that we found him.

Armando Aguilar did not respond timely to me or to my attorney, but he repeatedly threatened legal action if I didn't respond to his requests in a prompt and timely matter (which he made virtually impossible to do). He and his client hired a company to replace the shared sewer line in spite of our repeated requests to look at other, similarly priced companies with better online reviews. Armando missed several meetings with my lawyer, and then said that he had tried to call so that he could cover his tracks for missing the scheduled meeting. These missed meeting costs were then passed on to me, while the matter itself continued to go unresolved. Avoid him at all costs. He's sleazy. It's also strange that there are no online reviews of them. I'm guessing he'll try some kind of retribution for this review...

Mr. Martinez was biased in his opinion of the case that we brought to him and he did not represent us to the extent of our requests. He often dismissed our concerns and didn't act on our requests. The money that we spent was enormous to have such a negative outcome.
