After my car accident there were so many question I had about how to handle the situation. I'm so glad I called Mark. I was hit in my car and had to be taken to the hospital. I ended up having to attend physical therapy for months which resulted in many medical bills. The person who hit me had insurance but I had no idea what to do to make sure everything got paid or what to expect them to pay me for pain and suffering. I received a speeding ticket for going 47 mph in a 35 mph and immediately tried to find a lawyer. After researching some places in the Las Cruces area, Mark Gemoets office had the best reviews so I called and was able to get him to represent me for my case. The fee was reasonable and he got my case dismissed no problems! Could not have asked for anything else. Sometimes his phone does get pretty busy so you may have to call a few times to reach his office but overall I definitely would recommend.

I got this office as a reference for a practice that is lgbtq conscious. I read their reviews and from the first contact I've felt very taken care of and at ease. Sarah is an incredible mother and that translates to her fierce fight for children's needs. I had a pretty complicated family law case that involved a federal agent who seemed to continuously get away with inappropriate behavior. Her official tackled this head on without the fear I had and it was so empowering. They communicated exceptionally well through the entire process. I’m the type of person that is able to figure how to do most things on my own, but I’m so glad that I hired Mrs. Van Cott because she did things that I would never have thought to or known how to do. When I was trying to do everything myself, the whole process was so confusing. It was such a relief to have someone else to file the paperwork, communicate with the court, communicate with my ex, know what questions to ask, and know what evidence to submit and how to submit it. It was also really convenient to have access to all of our documents and the court’s documents in the online portal she uses.
She was able to get me majority custody of my child, with my ex only being able to have them 3 weekends a month. This was better than I expected, because even though my ex was terrible, I didn’t have a ton of proof to back it up. My whole case relied on the few pictures and doctor’s notes I was able to provide, but mostly the questions Mrs. Van Cott knew to ask. My court appearance was done over video due to us being in different towns, and Mrs. Van Cott noticed almost immediately after we started that someone was in the room with my ex. I hadn’t heard or seen anything, but sure enough he had had our child in the room with him. I couldn’t believe she had noticed that, and I’m so lucky she did because of course I wouldn’t have wanted my child to hear anything being discussed. The judge was very upset at my ex for doing this, so I also believe that this incident provided further proof of the type of person he is. Overall, I’m very happy with the service and results Mrs. Van Cott was able to provide.

The white lady was amazing in court and I will always remember that. My situation wasn't great but one thing I knew I wanted time with my lil one . The other lady on the other hand didn't seem to care, she didn't explain anything . My baby mom quit her job to get me to pay the maximum child support and went back to work a week later the hearing. She had 3 sources of income , I only had one and it was a restaurant job at that. Plus I ended up having to pick up my daughter 4 hours away to get her.

I came to this law firm in dire need of assistance with the utmost belief that the name "Justice" was somehow upheld. I have absolutely nothing good to say about this disrespectful group of women. I trusted them with the most intimate facts of my case and when push came to shove I was left in deeper waters and worse off than when I started. Apparently "their" self image is more important than the client. I have never felt so taken advantage of.

We went for a consultation back in November, paid him $350 per hour. He gave us instructions on what to do before retaining him and taking legal action, then if it didn’t work he would draft a letter for us, of course we would retain him at that point. When we called him back it took over 3 weeks to get ahold of them. His staff apparently lost our file, then wanted us to pay another $350 consult fee. That seems fishy, because he told me that if a client doesn’t retain him after the consult he throws out the notes. He’s a thief. When he finally called me back he was arrogant and very unprofessional. He started yelling at me and telling me that we couldn’t afford him so we should just break this up. I was just trying to ask him why should we pay twice when he failed to keep notes. He took real offense when I told him I could send in our receipt. He’s a crook, and doesn’t treat people with respect. He kept saying I charge $350 per hour and if you can’t afford that then how are you going to afford my services. I never told him we couldn’t afford it we just didn’t want to pay twice for a consult visit, he just didn’t like being questioned. He’s not a good person, so be careful. Best thing to do is to find a reputable lawyer. Thumbs down to Matt Watson.
