My 19 year old son was traveling home from a Virginia Tech football game on a late Saturday night in November 2024 when he was pulled over going 89 / 65 -- Reckless Driving -- which comes with very steep consequences in Virginia. Even though we live 3 hours away from the Roanoke area where he was pulled over, we were easily able to find and secure the services of Mr. Kevin Gick based on his superior and well-deserved online reviews, and he did not disappoint. At all times, Mr. Gick was easy to communicate with via email and/or text, gave us a game plan to follow in the attempt to lessen the charge and consequences, and most importantly, was a kind, calm, honest, and non-judgmental figure of authority for our son . The charges were reduced and lessens were learned. GET GICK.

Took a while to get it done. Not really their fault. But it ended up definitely being worth the wait and they were still trying to get me more from working with the hospitals on bills that my insurance didn't cover. Would definitely go back for round 3 if I needed them again

Mrs.Bono is one awesome attorney she knows what she is doing in the court room she was very polite always listened to her clients and always returned phone calls you couldn't ask for a better attorney she helped my husband and I out a couple of times for assault and battery charges where they was wanting to put my husband away for something he didn't do to me and she went in and fought it and brought him home for us to continue our lives I'm so greatful for her if I could give thousands of stars I would have you definitely cant go wrong if you need a good attorney you need to choose her I promise you that you will not go wrong . The experience with Strickland, Diviney and Segura was great. After I was hit by a driver not paying attention and taking to the hospital. Anthony Segura one of the attorneys at Strickland. Anthony was communicated any and everything to me about my case and we got the settlement in a timely fashion. I would recommend Strickland to anyone no matter what kind of case it is.

John was great. I am from out-of-state and he handled everything for me. The thing I liked best about John was that he gave me a very realistic expectation as to what the outcome would likely be given my infraction. No "pie in the sky" promises. He was able to fulfil his promise and although I was not overjoyed, I was ok with the disposition of my case. Apparently going 10 MPH over the speed limit is considered reckelss and a criminal offense in Rockbridge County and could cost you up to $2500!!!. Who knew! John was able to get my "reckless" reduced to a a regular "speeding" and in Virginia, that's huge. I paid $200 in fines and court costs which I was ok with. No points would have been great, but I know he did the best he could given the climate regarding traffic infrations in Rockbridge County.
Also, John's fees were reasonable. I had talked to several other attorneys who quoted me as much as 3x's what John charged and I would be hard pressed to believe they could have gotten a better outcome.

Sheila is excellent.
I had a very complicated case (with three decent previous attorneys) but it was Sheila that brought it to resolution. She's a brilliant attorney with a tremendous depth and breath of legal experience, but it's her incredible ability to understand and work with people in high conflict situations that sets her apart.
Sheila was:
1. cool and calm under pressure, without fail
2. incredibly knowledgeable of the law
3. compassionate and caring
4. able to work with folks of all personalities (and my case had many complex folks with vastly different personalities and backgrounds)
5. tough. Sheila was tenacious. She was always kind and fought fair, but she was on it. She was incredibly focused. Sheila was a warrior for my family.
6. Sheila also has an incredible staff. Everyone was there to help.
Sheila helped my children. I will forever be in her debt.

Within the hour, the incredibly helpful office practice manager had secured an attorney who could be available to take the case right away. We did not know Ms. Henderson before, but the way she attended court and expertly and professionally engaged with the judge, prosecution, and officers, showed her ease and skill in that arena. Every authority in uniform in that courtroom was actually happy to see her. She is clearly considered a professional in high regard. I was surprised at the excellent outcome she was able to secure for my family member. She was calm, kind, and reassuring. While I hope to never have occasion to need an attorney in the future, if we do, Ms. Henderson will be my first call.

Mr. Damico helped through the process of working through a difficult custody case and a frivolous criminal charge my ex brought against me. I ended up after the lengthy amounts of arguments and cases with custody of my kid almost half of every month and found not guilty if the ridiculous charge that was brought against me.
He doesn't pull any punches and he'll give you his no BS opinion on things.

Matthew Liller represented me after I received a speeding ticket for reckless driving in Virginia. Since I was an out of State resident, Matt took all the steps to ensure that the case could be handled without me returning to Virginia's General District Court. He requested information from me and that I take certain actions before the case was heard before the judge. How have I not reviewed Mr. Spencer on this website already? Mr. Spencer is incredible. He truly gives so much time and attention to your case and tells you exactly what his expectations are. To be honest, he has never steered me wrong in any of the custody cases (there have been way more than I’d like to admit, unfortunately) he has represented myself (and now my husband) in. In fact, he has never even been wrong in his expectations of the outcome of any of my cases thus far. I was I charged with theft in Roanoke. I explained my charged to Mrs. Federico she listen and told me up front what my story sounded like and believed me. I did not steal anything, but she told me it was going to be very hard or to even get this dismissed. We went to court did the whole process. In the end she got the case dismissed. I admit I have do many things in my life and have never took anything from anyone before in my life. When I hired Mrs. Derrico I had been clean from drugs for 18 months. When I was using for 2yrs of my life I never took anything from anyone. Mrs. Derrico was upfront and honest with me and even put up with high strung fear of this charge. She believed me and I placed my faith in her. Believe if want to complaint about the cost of a lawyer then go with court a appointed lawyer and take your chances. Hiring a good lawyer is worth your future. To Mrs. Derrico is that lawyer. She was wonderful and did not play games. She was stright forward and did not tell me something to give me false hope. Vicki and Barb were amazing throughout my divorce. Vicki will not waste your time/money with pointless meetings or calls, but she will show up for court prepared and organized. She made my spouse's attorney look incompetent and unprepared when she walked in with a binder for testimony with color-coded tabs for each section that we covered. Vicki was able to find a case law that got my foot in the door in a court system that otherwise would have refused to hear my case and continued to let my financially dominant ex continue to exert power and control through financial manipulation. But mainly, Vicki and Barb truly care about you on a human level and will treat your case with care and compassion. The family you created being legal broke apart is NEVER an easy thing but I am sure that having Vicki and Barb's support made it so much better than it otherwise would have been. Thank you!

I cannot express how extremely happy I was to have Vicki Francios as my lawyer during a very long 2+ year custody and child support battle. Vicki was not only extremely knowledgeable, but she explained everything to me with extreme detail and on a level that I would understand. I hired this law firm due to the consultation being exactly who I needed in a lawyer for my case. Once hired, Rick and Michelle Derrico do not follow thru with their statements. They were provided funds in a retainer. Michelle was the only one I was allowed to speak to and once hired she became veryrude. Sent out a demand letter and I had not heard from them in 2 total months. I tried reaching out for an update as circumstances with my case were changing and I needed to make them aware. Michelle and Rick stated they did not need to provide me with any information or decision making on my case and stated they no longer were representing me. If you want a lawyer to take you for your money and do the bare minimum with no results then this lawyer is for you. Beware!!

I hired Lugar Law of Roanoke, VA on May 4, 2020 to represent me in regards to a speeding ticket I received in Roanoke County. At first I was pleased with their responsiveness and they quoted me a fee of $150.00 for them to represent me, which was considerably cheaper than other law firms that I had spoken to. I paid the fee and sent them a copy of my insurance verification and a copy of the ticket. At Cerid Lugar’s instruction I had my speedometer calibrated and emailed the firm a copy of the results. They in turn sent me an email showing a letter that they sent to a judge, noting that my speedometer was inaccurate. I was content that the matter was being taken care of.
On Friday, May 22, I received a call from the admin at Lugar law stating that they had erred, and that they thought the speeding ticket had been issued in Franklin County instead of Roanoke County. I found this to be a bit incredulous given that they had a copy of the speeding ticket and it states clearly in boldface red letters ROANOKE COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT. The admin advised that since the offence happened in Roanoke County instead of Franklin county, that the fee would be $700 instead of the $150, which I had already paid. I was shocked to say the least. I had spoken to a few other lawyers in the area and the average fee was $360.00 and if Lugar Law had stated that ballpark figure, I would not have been that dumbfounded but an increase of FIVE HUNDRED and FIFTY DOLLARS??? The admin stated she would talk to Cerid Lugar and see if she would consider a compromise given that I had already paid the fee and the ERROR was due to Lugar Law, but she called me back and stated that Cerid Lugar would not lower the fee. At no point did Cerid Lugar call me to offer any detailed explanation or apology. I FIRED the law firm on the spot and demanded a refund, advising I would seek representation elsewhere.
The fact that Lugar Law made such an egregious error and the fact that they were unwilling to acknowledge or accept responsibility for that error speaks volumes to their unprofessionalism. Attorneys are supposed to act in their client’s defense and a lot of trust is placed in them. Having that trust violated is a serious betrayal and what Lugar Law did to me felt like a SHAKEDOWN. If you are considering hiring them, I would advise you to FIND SOMEONE ELSE. Who knows how much they might SQUEEZE you for.

At the end of 2017 I purchased a vehicle and learned a couple months later after having some issues with the vehicle, that the odometer had been rolled back.
