Jess Forbes and I serve on the Kanawha County (WV) Deputy Sheriffs Civil Service Commission. As President, I am faced with many decisions that are legal in nature and I can always depend on Jess to provide excellent feedback based on the law as written. Most of the decisions rendered impact the Deputies, the Sheriff and most importantly the safety and security of the citizens of Kanawha County. I couldn’t expect a better outcome. Harley was able to wipe out three of my charges. I did have a child endangerment charge and he got it reduced DUI with minor and I was never so scared in my life. Heather His assistance is so kind, caring and very understanding she is a super sweetheart and as forHarley himself, he is professional polite, understanding, straightforward I could go on and on. I was so scared. But his assistant kept me calm. This is his second time and representing me the first one he did get it dismissed , and the second one that I’m talking about here today he did what he could do and I could not ask for a better outcome I believe if I didn’t have Harley The outcome would have been far worse, and I cannot think him enough for him being on my side and understanding my circumstances, but I recommend Harley and Heather.

Shortly before trial, our attorney had to step down. GBBJ was recommended and that's when we were lucky to meet Jason Wingfield. From that point on, Jason took complete control, having to learn the details of the case with very little time before trial. If you want wood-paneled office walls, posh client accommodations, and sky-high fees to help pay for those and other unnecessary things, Mark Sutton and his office are not for you. I hired Mark to defend my son who got into trouble with a group of juveniles. I wanted him to take responsibility for his actions, pay his fair share and learn from the experience, but the police were out to ruin his future with felony convictions and jail time.
Working with an attorney is not something that most people do every day, so it’s hard to know what parts of a case to expect an attorney to handle, and which you should expect to handle yourself. To be honest, I’m still not really sure exactly where that boundary is, but I learned that you and your lawyer are a team, and Mark was an excellent teammate.
Why do we need lawyers? To understand the legal jargon and speak for you in court; to negotiate offers; and to guide you through the basics of the legal process. But more than that, you need someone that understands the intricacies of negotiation and has good instincts on what will and won't work in court. Mark is that lawyer.
I am a very proactive person, and waiting for the wheels of justice to turn was very frustrating for me. Mark worked very hard on several occasions, to keep me from making rash decisions in my frustration and explained how important patience was in any case.
With Mark’s guidance, and when the time was appropriate, I was able to communicate with the plaintiffs, at their discretion, and discuss what they thought was a reasonable punishment for the offense. This helped in softening the prosecutor's stance on the case.
We also gathered as many witness statements as possible for Mark's review and use in the case. Mark pretty much did the rest.
He has a great understanding of how cases make their way through the courts, when to negotiate, how to press for action and how to get all parties on your side – as much as they can be.
He has a good working relationship with the prosecutor, which helped convince the police to look at the statements we had collected and take a full and honest statement from my son.
After a great deal of effort on both our parts, we got the reasonable settlement we were looking for with a misdemeanor charge and probation in place of felonies and jail time.
The lesson for my son is paying off. He broke ties with the juvenile troublemakers, is working hard and is not far from paying off his settlement.

The first time I met Mr. Weston I was languishing in a county jail charged with first-degree murder ill treated by the authorities and just hours after A man on drugs attempted a home invasion in the middle of the night of my house where my three small children, wife and I slept I was confused and disheveled I had never had any experience with the criminal justice system Mr. Weston treated me professionally and as if we were sitting in his office or my home and not in a prison within days I was out on bail Mr. Weston stuck with me In what became close to a two-year process to prove my innocence he did this in spite of the fact it was not a popular case the man who broke into my home on drugs was claimed as the grandson of a popular city Councilwoman the judge presiding over the case announced to the entire courtroom that he was good friends with this councilwoman this did not intimidate or scare Mr. Weston His team including Danny Lane found evidence that not only did the man who broke into my home did drugs he also sold drugs Mr. Weston then provided the information on our case to a self-defense and law-enforcement expert Mr. Dennis root who showed through his testimony and report that I did what was necessary to protect my family I was found innocent by a jury of my peers on all charges I would love to say this is because the system worked and yes I was innocent but I have no doubt the reason I am not in jail for the rest of my life and my children are not orphans is because Richard Wallace Weston represented me as my attorney

A little back story prior to the accident. We just lost a dear young relative unexpectedly and tragically a week and half before the accident. The accident itself occurred leaving the hospital where I was visiting my cancer-ridden grandmother in the hospital. We experienced so much trauma, heartbreak, and grief then came the accident. Words cannot express how devastating and stressful all of it was. I felt like I was hanging on by a thread. Then a family friend suggested Cranston & Edward’s to take care of the accident since we had so much else going on.
We called and truly believe it was a Godsend. They were so compassionate and caring. They took care of EVERYTHING!!!!! Health insurance didn’t want to take care of bills, so Stephanie called and took care of it. When the party at fault’s insurance didn’t want to give us a fair deal for the cost of the vehicle which was totaled, Brian helped. Whenever I had questions and wanted to talk, they were always available or called me back THAT DAY. They took away the anxiety and stress of the process and Brian fought hard to get us a good settlement.

I had the pleasure of working with his father during a divorce decree on my behalf. I had the pleasure of watching this little blonde hair with bunches of curls. He stayed very close to him that he sat at a table with a WV STATE CODE BOOK. He started argument with his mother on a daily basis.
