The thoroughness and preparation with which Melissa approached my case was exemplary! That, along with the innovative strategies she incorporated, reduced the time frame of the divorce from a year to seven months. It was moving towards a trial which would have added another four to five months. In the courtroom, Melissa was sharp as a razor's edge. Respectful and amicable with the other side until they began personal attacks and bullying in and out of court. Melissa was not having ANY of that nonsense and the gloves came off both in and out of court! She was prepared for the other side to try that tactic and fought back with facts they weren't prepared to address. Ultimately, she did not allow my character to get decimated due to false accusations. She also read me as far as how much and which kind of information I could could take at any given time, she did not inundate me but rather waited until she knew I was ready to hear it. I could go on all day and write many more paragraphs. Simply put... the opposing attorney and ex-wife were on a mission to destroy my character and break me financially which is NO exaggeration. I know if I did not have a lawyer the caliber of Melissa, not only would these proceedings still be going on, the other side probably would've achieved their goal. You will not go wrong or regret retaining Melissa as your lawyer, it would be the smartest thing you could do!

Claire defended me when my ex decided to file a motion to reduce his alimony payments. This is my story, In 2016 I started my journey at nursing school at Stone Academy in the evening program. I encountered many delays during this time, I finally graduated in the year 2020 instead of 2019. I have been trying to pass my NCLEX from November 2020 until January 2024, I passed. I felt accomplished and all congrats were in order. I applied for a job went through the process but my license keep saying pending on DPH website.
I called the Board of Nursing and the person who answered the phone informed me that my license will not granted until they receive an updated transcript that I graduated from this institution as the one they have on file said withdrawn. The emotions were high when I heard these words my response was how could you have sent me ATT to write my boards for the past 3 years? The backlash was awful, detached and no empathy. She did refer me to call OHE ( Office of Higher Education) to find out if they have the transcript but they did not! Long story short….OHE put me on a list to request an official transcript from Stone Academy, this school stop existing in 2022 and currently have lawsuits.
I decided to higher a Lawyer, I called Keily Mira Law Firm and was connected to Jon. I went in the office, I explained my case but he never had a case like mine. He got the understanding and decided to take my case, he was also hitting close doors! I gave him all the information for him to work with, when I thought getting a Lawyer would perform a miracle, I felt frustrated and overwhelmed. Jon reminded me that he is working on my behalf and he is my ADVOCATE, I would have to be patient because it wasn’t an easy task.
OHE placed my name on a list to receive my official transcript, even though a copy was sent wouldn’t be enough, on 2/20/2024. I emailed OHE 2 weeks ago to find out if there were any updates the person responded to me yesterday 4/18/2024 “as of right now there hasn’t been any updates and I have escalated your case”. I forgot to forward this email to Jon yesterday, I was rushing to work. While I was at work yesterday my phone rang and I saw that the call was coming from Jon’s Office.
He was excited too, He said your license is in your inbox, I was thinking this is too good to be true but he kept saying it. I started crying on the phone, He insist I check and so I did. I couldn’t see from my eyes being filled with tears. I said where is it coming from and he told me and I saw it! Awwwwh what a relief Jon has been working behind the scenes while I was being patient, Jon was definitely my advocate! I am forever grateful, I am now moving forward with my life to make a better living for myself and my family. I cannot thank you enough! You didn’t turn me away. Thank you! Thank you!

I was attempting to locate a decades old divorce decree online with no success after several hours of trying. By chance, just happened to click on a website, not knowing it was a law firm, but a phone number attached to my question. It was after 5 pm in Connecticut, yet Mr. Stanger answered. After explaining what I was looking for, this man looked up a phone number for me to call where I could find what I was looking for.

I can say in the beginning he was very knowledgeable seemed like he wanted to help protect me and my special needs child. Towards the end just seems like he did not care anymore he knew exactly what was happening, the fact that my supposed victim I threatened me and my child, was a known drug dealer, known to be married and frauding the government, proven to lie directly to a judge.the fact that she was I was told this is not substantial to my case. But then was told by several different attorneys it should have been included. The fact that he said I shouldn't have been arrested but did nothing about it as he was not at my arraignment. Seems when I got another attorney to ask him questions everything kind of went sideways as I was being told by Mr young one thing and being proven by different attorneys that was not the case. I spent my life savings trying to protect my special needs child that Mr Young knew was in very realistic possible danger period yeah he did nothing to prove my innocence just question me as if I was the bad guy never directly answering questions

Upon moving to New Haven I was having issues with the Board of Education not implementing my child's IEP I was referred to New Haven legal assistance. During the PPT meeting I started to notice that the attorney that was assigned to my case
was not addressing the important issues that needed to be addressed so my child's Services could be implemented. NO CHANGES WERE MADE.
I had to personally pay for a attorney.

The educational lawyer that I hired made sure that my child received the paraprofessional that my child needed but by the time I was able to afford this lawyer it was at the end of the next school year weeks before graduation.
Nhi had the opportunity to help my child who was struggling socially and academically due to the fact that the IEP was not being implemented and Nhi Did not change any thing. I wonder how she sleeps at night is she happy knowing that one less black child is being educated.
The moral of the story is New Haven legal assistance and New Haven Board of Education work with each other to make sure that special education children do not receive services that are legally on their IEP just to save money.

The best thing I did was call John I had two cases my first offer was 2 years he got me off clean with out probation or time he is affordable and reliable. Last year in a other city I got a other charge that carry mandatory 2 to 5 he got me to walk again with out any probation or time case he took his time and did his homework and took my case to heart. A few years ago, John took my case for two felonies I was being charged with. He was not only an amazing lawyer, but an amazing friend. He explained to me every step of the case and guided me in what I needed to do in order to win my case. He recommended places to help with my alcohol abuse. He spoke to me like he would to a friend, maybe even family. I knew I was going to be alright with his explanation of everything. This case which included charges like assault and reckless driving was ultimately dismissed. The dismissal of these charges allowed for me to go back to school and more recently obtain my graduate degree!!!! Furthermore, more recently I hired him to help with a friend was wrongly accused. He did a phenomenal job with this case as well. Helping to get my friend a PTA from a 155,000 dollar bond!!! I strongly recommend attorney Bowdren. Not only is he good at what he does, he is befriendable, understanding, kind and caring! I feel like he is part of my family. I recently hired Susan to handle a divorce that was uncontested and had a post-nupt guiding the entire divorce proceeding. Susan often called with confused questions forgetting the details of my case. Her continual delays in creating the divorce paperwork were inexcusable. Her overall gruff manner and lack of communication are infuriating. She neglected to file the post-nup in accordance with the law and left me at great financial risk. If she was so remiss in my simple case, you should be very wary of using her for yours. When confronted with this egregious error she agreed to return my retainer - and then reneged on that agreement by claiming her error was easily fixable. Be very careful. She is not a woman of her word and her legal skills are clearly are highly suspect.

Needed some simple advice to review an out of state order and have it moved to Connecticut. Victor took my money (twice), asked me to send him a document to review and act upon, but he (and his assistant) then failed to respond to several phone calls and emails when I tried to follow up. Victor seems to know his stuff, but is clearly not interested in the small stuff. (who is, I guess?) Many months later and I am no further ahead...trying to work it out on my own...

I used Vic for a custody battle in new haven and was over charged and had less them stellar results in the end I was even sued by Vic and had a lean put on my house by him this is not an attack just facts even the attorney that was hired as a Guardian at Leitem for my child was in agreement that his fees were way over priced needless to say in the end I did get my child back on my own after releasing Vic but still got sued by him and had a lean put on my house to insure that he got paid what he did not deserve

Victor knows his way around the law books. From a Non-Attorney perspective things seem to happen the long way around with a lot of extra hearings and aggravation that literally have no point. Victor is a very capable and knowledgeable Attorney fighting an up hill battle for most of us, yet I can not help feeling slighted and semi ripped off in the process. He is very busy, this however is no excuse for lack of preparation for a hearing... preparation that I have PAID for... a Hearing that I am PAYING for. Bottom line is, he has the knowledge, he has the skill, yet when confronted with these concerns will bail on you.
The Potential is there Victor. You could Shine like no other. Not one person in that Court House has more knowledge of the law than you. Slow down, use it like we all know you can.
