I was involved in an accident on November 9, 2024 in Paterson, NJ. My car was parked and friend in the back opened the rear driver side door. A Tesla unfortunately hit part of my door. The Tesla owner and I, exchanged information, took photographs and decided not to call the police since the damages were not warranted. The day before Thanksgiving I was received a letter from Paterson Municipal Courts that I evaded the police following the accident aka a hit and run. That was not the case at all. So I called the Torrey Law Firm for a consultation. Within two hours I received a call from Louis Keleher and immediately I knew he would help me out. He explain the process on how my case will go. Looked into my clean driving record and requested photographs proving I did not leave the scene of the accident. He was able to get my original charge that involved a 6 month suspension to a minor fine with no points!! Louis helped relieved any stress I was dealing with for the final two months of 2024. I cannot thank him enough. If you are involved in any traffic related cases. The Tormey Law Firm is the place to GO!

I am incredibly thankful for Travis and Alyssa at The Tormey Law Firm. They were able to turn a nightmare of a situation into complete and utter relief. My fiancé got arrested at EWR with a firearm in his carry-on that he completely forgot was in there. He ended up at Essex County for a week before he was released back home. The Friday morning after his arrest, and while still in custody, I decided we needed to find a lawyer and quickly. Immediately The Tormey Law Firm popped up. I was hesitant at first but within one minute of submitting an inquiry, Travis himself called me to discuss. He took time out of his day, even at home with his children, to give me a call and let me know he could help. A few minutes later I heard from Alyssa and from then on I had some hope that things would get resolved.
Following his release we were waiting on his court date to find out next steps. To our surprise, Travis had spoken with the Prosecutor and we were now heading to a full dismissal of all of the charges. The RELIEF we felt. The initial situation happened in early August and by January we had the court date and all charges were dismissed and his record completely clean. For what we thought was going to be an uphill battle, Travis and his Law Firm truly went above and beyond to correct a mistake that should have never occurred in the first place. I couldn't recommend utilizing The Tormey Law Firm enough. They're professional, incredibly informative, and without a doubt know what they are doing. Do not hesitate to call them. I am now able to get married and know my fiancé can watch our daughter grow up.

Everything was filed quickly but they said “the court doesn’t provide updates” many times when asked.
Almost a year into my process, my ex heard from a friend that their divorce was finalized in less than two months and then she tried calling the court to get information, she was then told our divorce was finalized 7 months prior.
I went to court and was able to get the final decree, but still haven’t been notified by my lawyers that I’m divorced…

Not going to lie, they are quick with starting the divorce process but it has been almost 8 months and my divorce still isn't finalized...and I was told my divorce should be finalized from 6-7 months, then they pushed it back and told me it is now 6-8months. What's next, a year? I ask for an update and I get told that they will get back to me and they never get back to me. These reviews did get my hopes up unfortunately. I just want this process over with already.

Just not the type of attorney who should have handled my case in this lifetime, hopefully he'll think twice before stepping into other sectors of law that he has no place being in next time the opportunity comes his way and stick to what he knows best, defending criminals. Which there's nothing wrong with that, just victim advocate attorneys are very different from criminal defense attorneys and the two should not cross paths. There's a reason you have different lawyers, because cases are meant to be handled differently and a victim's case should be handled completely differently from a retaliation TRO case. There's people who use TROs and there's people who need TROs and FROs, that's why they have special attorneys that work with the population I am a part of, survivors of DV and SA.

Brent is a very calm grounded individual. When I first sat down with him, he listened, and after asking questions, he positioned a direction on how to proceed. We went to court several times and each time he was relaxed and advised me prior to the proceedings.

I hired Brent DiMarco, Esq. after I was charged with four (4) misdemeanor charges. From the very beginning, the only thing Mr. DiMarco promised me was that he would do his absolute best to try and help me. And he did. He answered my phone calls and emails promptly. Mr Davies is compassionate, hardworking, and excellent negotiation. He helped negotiate a consent agreement with my highschool girlfriend who hit me with a huge surprise childsupport order after 13.5 years and would not allow me to see my son. She made up nasty lies and sent threats to my wife and I. He helped me have fair terms so I could take care of my current wife and kids. Now age 23 my son who doesn't want a relationship wants a 6th and 7th year of college paid for. I am using Mr Davies again because he is the best at what he does. There are no words to truly express how grateful I am that I met and hired Mr. Davies. My situation was a particularly difficult one as my ex had an addiction and moved out of state and getting him to respond to anything was difficult. Not to mention our daughter was 10 at that time. I had a challenging experience working with David Torchin in the past, who was our court-appointed Parent Coordinator. Mr. Torchin was assigned to help my ex-wife and I resolve disputes regarding the upbringing of our children. Unfortunately, he canceled our meetings on short notice multiple times and even double-booked our initial appointment, leaving us waiting in his in his waiting room for some time before informing us we needed to reschedule, as his other client took priority.
During our sessions, I found Mr. Torchin to be unprofessional. He frequently resorted to personal insults and attempted to intimidate me when I disagreed with him. Rather than working towards a compromise, he often tried to impose his opinions and would often resort to bullying tactics.
We then attended mediation with a different professional to help resolve some of these very same issues that Mr. Torchin was incapable of effectively addressing. The assigned mediator offered common-sense solutions that were "in the children's best interests." When confronted about his effectiveness in addressing our concerns, Mr. Torchin responded, "I never, in addressing the issue, imparted my opinion as to what was best for the children. Ultimately, when the parties could not agree, I left the decision to the discretion of the parent who had custody on that particular day." He also noted, "There is a difference in the style of mediation used by <Mediator Name>, which I do employ when retained as a mediator, and the style of mediation I use when retained as a Parent Coordinator".
His main focus seemed to be on maximizing billing rather than providing the best solutions. I recall one instance where, after being informed that "David is on vacation overseas," I discovered that many of his clients, including myself, were billed for "Telephone/International Calls" line item charge on the next invoice — as if his substantial hourly fee wasn't enough.
Given these experiences, it became clear that Mr. Torchin’s services as a Parent Coordinator were ineffective in facilitating resolutions that were truly in the best interests of our children. For those in need of a family law attorney or Parent Coordinator with a calm demeanor, I would advise looking beyond David Torchin.
I hope Mr. Torchin will not respond to me with insults, but instead will use my feedback as an opportunity to improve his services for future clients, as it was intended.

Mr. Torchin was appointed in my case, he is not the first PC to have been appointed in the case that has sadly continued for years. However, he is the first PC to genuinely care for my daughter's needs, and listen to her voice. Mr. Torchin provides sound recommendations that are child focused. Mr. Torchin is professional with the parents, and empathetic with the children. Mr. Torchin is not only an asset to family court, but also to the legal community.

I had three different attorney's during my divorce and she was the worse by far. During a hearing she was actually asking me what questions she should ask the witness. Was totally unprepared. To add insult to injury tried to double charge for her time. Due to her I missed 3 months with my children despite a court order saying I should have them every other week. Was prepared to offer less time with my children than a court order that was already in place. Once I changed attorneys their first course of action was to fix the mess created by Amy by reinstating an order that was already in place. In my opinion I would stay away from her at all cost.

Micheal has been my attorney through a horrible shameful divorce and custody battle since 2012.
After 5 long years, Micheal is still fighting the battles and the road blocks that my ex-wife keeps throwing our way.
The father always seems to be considered "second class" with the court system which makes it hard to always get to the truth. Micheal will always make sure that your child's voice is heard to help fulfill your child's needs.
We had 4 parent coordinators, 2 guardian alignments, therapists, and social services in place which has been extremely expensive and heartbreaking across the board. "I unfortunately had Alexandra Coglianese appointed as our parent coordinator. She exhibited bias and manipulated facts to fit her own narrative. Her dishonesty led to false statements, some of which she corrected when confronted. She even presented inaccurate information to the judge, some of which she later amended in an email sent at 7 PM the night before the hearing. Whether this was deliberate or due to incompetence, she failed to prioritize my daughter’s best interests by presenting misleading narratives to the court and making false statements and unsolicited recommendations.
If you’re seeking someone who is fair, honest, and genuinely looks out for the child’s well-being, I recommend avoiding Alexandra Coglianese.”

Really bad experience!! Nicole was appointed for my case.Not able to make ANY progress in my case. Dragged call after call for 6 months without 1 single written order. Billing went to 5X times the retainer which was already so high. There were times they didnt respond for 3-5 days. Just kept the billing going on time. Finally had to fire them for case and it got resolved within 30 days without any issues. Sorry to say but would strongly recommend to avoid using them.
