Adam stepped in during a difficult situation for a PRB hearing with 24 hours to prepare. His knowledge and confidence resonated during the hearing. With his help my significant other is coming home. I can never thank him enough for all he has done. These last months have been so difficult but all that being said Adam stepped in and was amazing.

Adam came highly recommended by an other attorney and now I can see why. He was able to obtain my vehicle back after it had been seized by the police. His vast knowledge in this type of matters resulted in getting the civil case dismissed. I was in constant communication with him throughout this entire process. There wasn’t a call or text of mine that he wouldn’t answer.

If you’re reading this review today, chances are you or someone you know are in need of representation in the court of law. I hired Adam Bolotin in February of 2020, after an unfortunate misunderstanding that led to my untimely separation from my company and a dream career that I had waited for over 35yrs:( Due to the pandemic the city of Chicago literally shut down in March of 2020, which pushed my court dates further and further back, with the unknown and uncertainties, a widespread pandemic and no employment I found myself at a low point in my life, but through it all, Adam was extremely encouraging and reassuring by reminding me of how he was going to fight for me and that the law was there to protect me. I will forever be in this man’s debt as he time and time again rushed to represent me even after the case was dismissed, yet my new employer needed some legal final papers. Adam has definitely restored my faith in humanity. Thank God for attorneys who remain faithful to their oath to protect the citizens of this country. Today I am with a different company doing the same dream career and enjoying my life, thanks to Adam’s continued support and legal representation.

I am not a client of Mr.Arce however I inquired about retaining Mr.Arce's services. Mr.Arce not only swiftly replied to my inquiry, he spent the time to write me out a detailed response to my inquiry and give me guidance and how to proceed forward. Good people like this who go out of their way to help the least I can do is let potential clients know how great Mr.Arce treated me.

My experience with this firm was amazing from my initial consult through to the end. Even more highly recommended would be my attorney Max Bracero. He was aggressive, optimistic, direct and friendly. All the traits an attorney needs for legal matters I’d highly recommend the firm and Max.

Updated review. I cannot stress to anybody reading this enough: who you hire matters and you get what you pay for. Attorney’s have case after case slide across their desk. It’s a job at the end of the day to most. If Aaron Shapiro or the force that is Amanda Schaffer takes your case, TRUST THEM. Full disclosure: I am a nightmare client. On a scale from 1-10, I’m an 11 in terms of annoying. My son is my absolute world. I have been a “white pony” more times than you can imagine. Over-billed. None of it made sense. Those attorneys cared about a paycheck. Aaron and Amanda are not only EXCELLENT attorneys, they’re good people. They have a backbone. Their time is valuable. They’re not cheap. Know that. When your child, freedom, or immigration status is on the line — don’t put it in the hands of someone who treats you like a file. The legal progress is exhausting (mentally and financially — I know it all too well.) It’s unfair. Read that again. No attorney should ever promise you a victory. Here’s what this random stranger who’s been put through the wringer for 3 years can promise you first hand — this firm cares and they’re your best shot.

He had me sign the retainer, pay almost $7000 and disappeared. He did not show up in court saying I still had to sign a form. I never received said form and he stopped answering altogether. I cannot believe he would do this to families in need of help.

I'm not one to typically write reviews, but my experience with Amanda Shaffer from The Shapiro Law Firm was truly exceptional and warranted sharing. I had the pleasure of working with Amanda on my immigration case, and I must say, she exceeded my expectations in every way. Her professionalism, expertise, and dedication to her clients are truly exceptional. Unfortunately, my case was previously mishandled by another lawyer, who failed to properly file my application, leading to potential denial. However, Amanda Shaffer stepped in and quickly turned things around. She was frustrated by the mistakes made by my previous lawyer and immediately took action to combat their response. Amanda's expertise and knowledge of immigration law are impressive. She took the time to understand my situation, answered all my questions, and provided clear guidance throughout the complex immigration process. Her attention to detail and ability to navigate intricate immigration laws with ease are truly remarkable. What impressed me most was Amanda's proactive approach to resolving my case. She identified solutions and opportunities that I hadn't considered and worked tirelessly to ensure a successful outcome. Her dedication and commitment to her clients are unparalleled. I also valued Amanda's empathetic and understanding nature, which made a difficult and stressful situation more manageable. Her kindness, patience, and willingness to listen made me feel heard and validated. I highly recommend Amanda Shaffer and The Shapiro Law Firm to anyone seeking a skilled, reliable, and empathetic immigration lawyer. Amanda is a true asset to her profession, and I feel fortunate to have had her by my side during a challenging time. Thank you, Amanda, for your outstanding service, support, and dedication. You truly made a difference in my life and helped me achieve my immigration goals, despite the mistakes of my previous lawyer!

What a Drug Crime Lawyer Can Do for You

A drug crime lawyer specializes in defending individuals accused of offenses involving controlled substances. These offenses can range from simple possession to more serious charges like distribution, trafficking, manufacturing, or possession with intent to distribute. Drug crimes can involve illegal substances such as marijuana, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, as well as the unauthorized use or distribution of prescription medications.

A drug crime lawyer has in-depth knowledge of federal and state drug laws and can navigate the complexities of the legal system to protect your rights. They can challenge the prosecution's evidence, negotiate plea deals, and represent you in court to potentially reduce charges, dismiss the case, or minimize penalties.

When Should I Hire a Drug Crime Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a drug crime lawyer as soon as possible in the following situations:

  • Under Investigation: If you suspect you are being investigated for a drug-related offense, consulting a lawyer early can help you avoid self-incrimination and prepare a defense strategy.
  • Arrested or Charged: If you have been arrested or formally charged with a drug crime, immediate legal representation is crucial to protect your rights and begin building your defense.
  • Search and Seizure Issues: If law enforcement has conducted a search of your person, vehicle, or property, a lawyer can assess whether your Fourth Amendment rights were violated and if any evidence can be suppressed.
  • Facing Serious Penalties: Drug charges can carry severe consequences, including jail time, hefty fines, probation, mandatory rehabilitation programs, and a permanent criminal record.
  • Complex Cases: Cases involving multiple charges, conspiracy, trafficking across state or national borders, or allegations of involvement with organized crime require specialized legal expertise.

What Does a Drug Crime Lawyer Do?

A drug crime lawyer provides a range of legal services to defend and support you throughout the legal process:

  • Legal Consultation and Advice: Explain the charges against you, your rights, and the potential consequences. They will help you understand the legal process and your options.
  • Case Investigation: Examine the details of your case, including police reports, evidence, and witness statements, to identify weaknesses or violations of legal procedures.
  • Defense Strategy Development: Create a tailored defense strategy, which may include challenging the legality of the search and seizure, disputing possession, or questioning the credibility of witnesses.
  • Negotiating with Prosecutors: Work to negotiate plea bargains or reduced charges when appropriate, aiming to minimize potential penalties.
  • Court Representation: Represent you in all court proceedings, advocating on your behalf during hearings, trials, and sentencing.
  • Protecting Your Rights: Ensure that your constitutional rights are upheld throughout the legal process, including protection against unlawful searches, coerced confessions, or violations of due process.
  • Post-Trial Assistance: Assist with appeals, sentence modifications, or expungement of records if applicable.

How Are Drug Crime Lawyers Paid?

Drug crime lawyers typically charge for their services in one of the following ways:

  • Hourly Rate: Charging an hourly fee for the time spent on your case. Rates can vary widely based on the lawyer's experience and geographic location.
  • Flat Fee: A set amount that covers specific services or the entirety of your case, providing cost predictability.
  • Retainer Fee: An upfront payment from which the lawyer deducts hourly fees and expenses as they work on your case. The retainer may need to be replenished as the case progresses.
  • Payment Plans: Some lawyers offer payment arrangements to make their services more affordable over time.

It's important to discuss payment structures and fees during your initial consultation to understand the financial commitment involved.

How Much Does a Drug Crime Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a drug crime lawyer depends on various factors, including the complexity of the case, severity of the charges, and the lawyer's experience. General cost estimates include:

  • Hourly Rates: Typically range from $200 to $500 or more per hour.
  • Flat Fees: For less complex cases (e.g., simple possession charges), flat fees might range from $2,000 to $7,500.
  • Complex Cases: Cases involving multiple charges, felonies, or trafficking can cost $10,000 to $50,000 or more due to the extensive legal work required.
  • Trial Costs: If your case goes to trial, costs can increase significantly, potentially exceeding $25,000.

Additional costs may include:

  • Expert Witness Fees: Costs for specialists who may testify on your behalf, such as forensic experts or toxicologists.
  • Investigative Expenses: Expenses related to gathering evidence, hiring private investigators, or locating witnesses.
  • Court Fees and Administrative Costs: Filing fees and other expenses associated with court proceedings.

Always request a detailed fee agreement and discuss potential additional costs to avoid unexpected expenses.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

    • Search warrants
    • Any correspondence from law enforcement or the court
  • Witness Information: Provide names and contact information of any potential witnesses who can support your defense.

  • List of Questions: Prepare questions about your case, the legal process, and the lawyer's experience.
  • Honesty: Be prepared to discuss all details openly and honestly; attorney-client privilege ensures confidentiality.

By being thoroughly prepared, you enable the lawyer to assess your situation effectively and provide the best possible legal advice tailored to your case.
