First I want to start off by saying Mr. Doud is truly the best around. I have 3 cases going on, & he’s on top of every single one of them! So far he’s won one case, & I do not doubt him for winning the other 2. Seeing him in action is a whole different ball game, because he’s going to blow the hats off others who stands against him! You’ll regret it if you don’t hire him! Secondly Mrs. Tina which is Mr.Doud secretary! She works just as hard as Mr. Doud does! She’s very professional, caring, & supportive! I highly recommend, & there’s really no words to put into how awesome this lawyer is!

My brother a property buyer had an issue with a seller who held mortgage to his home, where the seller failed to maintain payment records and my brother also lacking complete records too. Attorney Finck negotiated the difficult personalities and drafted the agreements needed to protect from future disagreements and managed to get property paid off 12 years earlier than seller was claiming was owed. I also negotiated with a distant bank for purchase of Commercial property which I had spent years trying to acquire. Attorney Ryan Finck calmly took control of the process dealing with unknown parties at a distance in different states and quickly wrapped up title searches, tax issues and obtained approvals from banking reps, their representatives, their attorneys ti bring all parties to conclusion from a distance. In a world of doing business with handshakes, making deals where everyone is happy, seems to be quite risky and obsolete .... Unless Attorney Ryan Finck is silently dotting the i and crossing the t in the background ensuring everyone wins. He is essentually proactively solving disputes and issues before there is one. An asset to the integrity of the law profession.

...I would highly recommend Nicole. In my instance, Nicole provided input as to what was truly important to the Court and stuff that just I thought was important but would really have no meaningful impact on the outcome. Nicole used her experience to provide potential likely outcomes and options that I should seriously consider to improve my chances all while cutting to the chase and not just pandering to my wants and not echoing my wants and desires. Nicole made me feel better while involved in the worst situation that I had experienced to date. Nicole has law enforcement knowledge and near experience, she has practiced in Hernando County for a quarter century, she knows the “system”, the judges, the opposing counsels, and you just really need to let her do her thing and provide documents or whatever she is requesting. There are a lot of attorneys to choose from but Nicole made me feel like I was her only client. Do yourself a favor when your life turns upside down and retain Nicole to flip things back to a new tolerable normal.

When you are dealt with life surprises you need someone competent, confident and to the point. Nicole is that person and well respected by her peers. I needed representation and really didn't know what to ask or expect but Mrs. Klapka was always direct and reassuring of my concerns throughout the process. Mrs. Klapka is aggressive when needed and to the point with the facts. I would recommend Mrs. Klapka to anyone who would ask. Simply a great and confident Attorney.

I needed an attorney to represent me very quickly! I searched for attorney's in spring hill and I spoke to a few attorney before contacting Mrs. Klapka. I was unsure with my dissension but from our first conversation I had a good feeling about Mrs. Klapka. She is a very professional and honest person. She was very informative and straight to the point, I liked that very much about Mrs. Klapka. I would recommend anyone and everyone to hire Mrs.Klapka if your in need of honest and aggressive legal help. I have fought in both Iraq & Afghanistan wars in some of the most dangerous places on earth and some people tell me I'm a hero after hearing my story or reading my combat awards, my response is always the same and i tell them it was my job and i loved doing it. Mrs. Klapka your my hero and you saved the day for me. there are still great people in this country that fight for what's right and you have helped me not just legally but in a very big way. thank you very much and god bless you .

I needed to update my will after moving to this state. Chris Kane thoroughly explained the difference between wills and trusts in understandable language instead of all legalize. I felt very comfortable with her knowledge, she was also very patient in making sure we understood everything . It originally was just a consultation, but I felt so comfortable with her that my husband and I decided to have her do a Trust for us, along with health care living wills and the necessary power of attorney. I definitely recommend Chris and her team, who also handled my real estate closing.

In the attempt to secure legal counsel for a family member, I attempted to call this office, I ended up going in a different direction in the end, but I feel this particular office would be capable of doing what I asked, if I had the money they were asking for. Price does not necessarily dictate skill or ability when looking for representation, in the end I go on the feel I get from the first serious discussion with the actual attorney whom will be handling my case, and of course hope he's got a good paralegal, cuz they'll be doing most of the work anyways!

Buck law helped me administer my mom's trust after she passed away. They were compassionate and very helpful to me, the trustee. I'm someone who has never delt with trusts or estates, and they provided the needed guidance and options (including pros & cons to the options) throughout the journey. Ours was not a cookie-cutter administration with some little complications, but they helped me navigate through the complications, ultimately bringing everything to a conclusion.

The complexity of trying to perform a buyout of a property with a sibling with whom I was having a hard time agreeing on the terms was overwhelming. However, once attorney Coleman Hengesbach took charge of the situation, everything fell into place. Mr. Hengesbach made sense of all the terms and solved the issue without going to litigation. I genuinely appreciate his consistent communication throughout the process and the fair price for his service. In the future, if I ever have legal issues with my property, Coleman Hengesbach will be my go-to attorney.

I hired this so called lawyer ,gave me all kinds of promises and he destroyed my life . In my divorce I was left with nothing ,he didnt even try to get me my property from before marriage, and old family airlioms. If you hire this guy your life will be devastated and turned upside down . Lost from my share of house to everything I ever built in all my life ,and didn't even have the decency to let me know judgement was in so I could appeal. Refuses to calk back and keeps office door locked because of fear of clients retribution. Everything people wrote here is 100% true and the 5 star reviews are fake or were cases of little to no importance. Your better off representing yourself, because ultimately you will be.

Do not, I repeat, Do not hired this "attorney" for anything. All the negative reviews are true, they took the words right out of my mouth. Hired him to represent me in my divorce: he's very evasive and doesn't explain the law, allowed my ex's lawyer to do what ever he wanted, has no interest in helping his client, only out for himself! If you are thinking of hiring him, represent yourself, because in the long run you will be! I am filing a complaint with ACAP immediately for excessive billing and attorney malpractice.

Mr Reynolds is the most incompetent legal representative I have ever had the utter misfortune of hiring to resolve a simple mutually agreed upon divorce. Over a year later of countless delays and multiple failures to reply to attempted communications, I am still not divorced...and he is still demanding more money to continue to do nothing to resolve this matter. Considering the amount of negative reviews and complaints. Perhaps it is time for Mr. Reynolds to be brought up up for judicial review concerning his total lack of competancy in satisfactorily resolving mine and others multiple complaints?

What an Estate Planning Lawyer Can Do for You

An estate planning lawyer helps individuals plan for the management and distribution of their assets after death or during incapacitation. Their services involve drafting important legal documents, such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives. Estate planning attorneys work to ensure that your assets are transferred according to your wishes, minimize tax liabilities, and avoid probate court. They also help clients plan for potential long-term care needs and protect their estate from being diminished by healthcare costs.

By working with an estate planning lawyer, you can have peace of mind knowing that your loved ones will be cared for and that your estate will be managed efficiently and according to your desires.

When Should I Hire an Estate Planning Lawyer?

Hiring an estate planning lawyer is beneficial in many situations, especially when you want to ensure that your assets are handled properly after death. Common reasons to hire an estate planning lawyer include:

  • Drafting a will: If you want to clearly define how your assets will be distributed after death, an attorney can draft a legally sound will.
  • Creating a trust: For those looking to avoid probate or provide for loved ones over time, setting up a trust can help manage the distribution of assets.
  • Planning for incapacity: An estate lawyer can help draft powers of attorney and healthcare directives so that your financial and medical decisions are made by someone you trust if you become incapacitated.
  • Minimizing estate taxes: If your estate is large, a lawyer can help create strategies to reduce or eliminate federal and state estate taxes.
  • Special circumstances: If you have minor children, blended families, or complex assets like businesses, an estate planning lawyer can create tailored solutions.
  • Guardianship or conservatorship: If you want to designate guardians for minor children or ensure proper care for incapacitated adults, an attorney can help.

Hiring an estate planning lawyer is especially important if your estate is complex or if you want to ensure that your wishes are properly followed.

What Does an Estate Planning Lawyer Do?

An estate planning lawyer provides a range of services designed to help you organize your affairs and ensure your estate is managed according to your wishes. They can:

  • Draft wills and trusts: Creating legally binding documents that dictate how your assets will be distributed and managed.
  • Create powers of attorney and healthcare directives: Appointing someone to make financial or medical decisions for you if you become incapacitated.
  • Minimize taxes: Developing strategies to reduce estate taxes, gift taxes, and other financial liabilities for your heirs.
  • Help avoid probate: Structuring your estate plan to avoid probate, which can save time and money for your beneficiaries.
  • Advise on long-term care planning: Helping you plan for potential healthcare needs in the future, including Medicaid planning and protecting assets from being depleted by nursing home costs.
  • Assist with beneficiary designations: Ensuring that life insurance policies, retirement accounts, and other financial instruments are correctly designated.
  • Handle probate and estate administration: If a loved one has passed away, an estate planning lawyer can help guide you through the probate process or act as an executor.

How Are Estate Planning Lawyers Paid?

Estate planning lawyers typically charge for their services in one of several ways, depending on the complexity of your estate and the type of services you need. Common payment structures include:

  • Flat fee: Many estate planning services, such as drafting a will or trust, are charged on a flat-fee basis. The fee covers all work related to preparing the document.
  • Hourly rate: For more complex planning, such as estate tax strategy or trust administration, lawyers may charge by the hour. Rates vary based on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Retainer: Some lawyers require a retainer for more complex cases, such as ongoing trust management or estate administration. The retainer is an upfront payment that covers future legal services.

It’s important to discuss fees with your lawyer upfront to avoid unexpected costs.

How Much Does an Estate Planning Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring an estate planning lawyer depends on the complexity of your estate and the services you require. Here are some general guidelines:

  • Simple wills or powers of attorney: A straightforward will or power of attorney may cost between $300 and $1,500, depending on your location and the lawyer’s experience.
  • Trust creation: Establishing a trust, such as a living trust or revocable trust, can cost between $1,000 and $3,000 or more, depending on the complexity of your assets and estate planning needs.
  • Comprehensive estate planning packages: Some lawyers offer packages that include wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives, which may range from $2,000 to $5,000 or more, depending on the estate’s complexity.
  • Hourly rates: For ongoing services like estate administration or tax planning, lawyers may charge hourly rates ranging from $150 to $500 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience.

Always get a clear estimate of costs during your initial consultation to ensure the services fit within your budget.

Top Questions to Ask an Estate Planning Lawyer

Before hiring an estate planning lawyer, it’s important to ask questions to ensure they are the right fit for your needs. Here are key questions to ask during your consultation:

  1. What is your experience with estate planning?
Ensure the lawyer has substantial experience drafting wills, creating trusts, and handling other estate planning services.
  2. How will you charge for your services?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges a flat fee or by the hour and ask for a detailed estimate of costs.
  3. What strategies do you recommend for my estate?
A good lawyer should be able to explain the best strategies for minimizing taxes, avoiding probate, and ensuring your assets are distributed according to your wishes.
  4. How often should I update my estate plan?
Ask how frequently you should revisit your estate plan, especially if your financial situation or family dynamics change.
  5. Do you offer ongoing support or updates?
Some lawyers provide periodic reviews or updates to ensure your estate plan stays current with changes in your circumstances or the law.
  6. How will you help my beneficiaries if something happens to me?
Ensure the lawyer is willing to guide your heirs through the estate administration process or help manage your trust after you’re gone.

How to Check the Credibility of an Estate Planning Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a credible estate planning lawyer, follow these steps:

  • Verify their state bar license: Check with your state bar association to confirm that the lawyer is licensed and in good standing, with no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Look for estate planning certifications: Some lawyers are certified as estate planning specialists, which indicates they have extensive knowledge in this area of law.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online reviews on sites like Avvo, Google, or Martindale-Hubbell can provide insight into the lawyer’s professionalism and client satisfaction.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should be able to provide references from previous clients who can speak to their expertise and client service.
  • Check for membership in professional organizations: Lawyers who are members of organizations like the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) or the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) often have a strong reputation in the field.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with an estate planning lawyer, it’s important to come prepared. Here’s what you should bring:

  • List of assets and liabilities: Provide a detailed inventory of your assets, including real estate, bank accounts, retirement funds, investments, and personal property, as well as any debts you may have.
  • List of beneficiaries: Be ready to discuss who you want to receive your assets and in what proportions. This includes naming guardians for minor children if applicable.
  • Existing estate documents: Bring copies of any existing wills, trusts, powers of attorney, or other relevant estate planning documents.
  • Questions about your estate goals: Write down your goals, such as avoiding probate, reducing taxes, or setting up charitable donations, so your lawyer can tailor a plan to meet your needs.
  • Information on medical and financial decision-makers: Be prepared to discuss who you want to appoint for healthcare and financial decisions if you become incapacitated.

By being well-prepared, you can ensure a productive consultation and begin building a comprehensive estate plan that meets your needs and protects your loved ones.
