I’ve been trying to complete my divorce now for over 3 years. He lacks communication with myself and my soon to be ex-wife’s attorney. He has repeatedly ignored requests from myself and her attorney. I’m ready to go straight to the courts to see what I can do. This has been a complete nightmare. I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

When two people just can’t work it out, sadly divorce is sometimes necessary. It is imperative that you find someone who will look out for your best interest and also help you navigate the whole process. I contacted Jennifer Harrington in Sept 2021 to start the divorce process. My ex-husband and I had been married for 11 years and have 2 young children. We also had a large house, land and assets that needed to be dealt with. Divorce is one of the most devastating things to go through. Jennifer was so understanding of what I was feeling and helped me sort it all out even when emotions were high for me. I stated the things that were the most important to me and she made sure to make my wishes heard and did an amazing job getting me everything I was seeking. If I ever had a question or a concern she was super prompt about getting back to me either via email or a personal phone call or text. We had to wait until our home and property sold before we could finalize the divorce but on March 1, 2022 we did sign off on everything. Jennifer made a really difficult time in my life manageable and she was definitely my back bone and strength throughout the entire process. If I had to do it all over again (thank goodness I don’t!) I would hire Jennifer again in an instant and I highly recommend her to anyone about to start their divorce.

This was not my first rodeo, so to speak. I was referred to Mr. Gaffney by a friend when I was much younger. He handled my divorce and helped me find my way through an incredibly hard time. Fast forward almost 30 years and I found myself needing his expertise again, unfortunately. A 26 year-long military divorce that was so much more complicated and overwhelming. When I got married 11 years ago, I never thought I would find myself single again. Even during many contentious moments throughout the marriage, I pressed forward and persevered. Mr. Gary Williams is a smart, thoughtful, knowledgeable and tenacious attorney. We recently settled an ongoing dispute regarding the enforcement of the terms of a prenuptial agreement. It was an arduous and frustrating 5 year long process as my ex fought us every step of the way. Mr. Williams and his staff stood by me through this whole ordeal with understanding and patience and ending up getting me a deal that was fair and protected me from my ex. My ex is a very vindictive person and I was concerned he may seek retribution now that the case was settled. Mr. Williams took my concerns to heart and included language in the settlement barring him from harassing me in the future. That meant a lot to me. His staff is also wonderful. Very professional and helpful. In addition, Mr. Williams’s staff ending up saving me some money on fees as he is able to delegate certain tasks to paralegals and other staff members that bill at a much lower rate. My ex initially had a lawyer that had no staff and ended up paying much higher legal fees as everything his attorney did was billed at the attorney’s rate. I hired Mr. Lykes to handle a personal injury case that was a result of a car accident. I was fairly young when it happened so I was pretty over my head when it came to legal matters. The whole process took about two years and throughout the entire process, I was informed about what was going on. Whenever I had questions I called his office and if he wasn't available at the moment, his secretary would relay the message and he would quickly get back to me. When all was said and done, I was very happy with the outcome -- especially after hearing other stories from other people in that have been in the same position as me.

Robert Todd is the best mediator and negotiator I've ever come across. I've been through mediation numerous times before. Robert knows how to handle people. I don't think my case would have turned out the way it did unless he were involved. He put 110% in once he saw how much I cared for my child. Divorce is such an ugly thing. It is usually something beyond draining in every way imaginable, especially in circumstances involving a non-amicable and/or entitled spouse. Often, such difficulties are compounded by concurrent issues with finances, health, etc. Most importantly, when innocent children are involved, it becomes crucial to protect them from the surrounding chaos.
During such a trying time, it is vital to partner with an attorney who is experienced, competent, trustworthy, diligent, discerning, and level-headed. It is also important to find an attorney who is well-connected and respected within the Florida law community. With my personal case now fully resolved, I can assert that Mr. Steven Hair, Esquire meets/exceeds all of these attributes.
Another characteristic about Mr. Hair that deserves mentioning is a certain humility that is rarely seen in successful attorneys, especially those with his extent of experience (over 30 years). If you are looking for an aggressive "pit bull" type of attorney who will invariably take extreme measures on your behalf, perhaps Mr. Hair is not for you (and he would tell you this himself). For us parents, divorce is something far more than just an elongated financial negotiation.
