In going through an unwanted divorce as Defendant, and soon to be ex-wife making fantastic claims, I was very fortunate to have Jill Bolton represent my issues in the divorce. Jill stated her expectations for the outcome of my divorce at our very first meeting. I honestly didn't think what Jill expected was possible.
Not only was it possible, it is exactly what happened.
In reading other testimonials about Bolton Law, you will notice that everyone calls her Jill. Not Ms. Bolton, or generically Bolton Law, but Jill. That is because you develop a personal relationship with her, even in this professional circumstance. Jill is open, warm, friendly, present, and above all else, extremely gifted in Law and the legal application of our rights under those laws. Jill is tenacious, informed, and pro-active on our behalf. The MyCase portal that she and my assistant Alexis in her office use, is up to the moment with developments and information for quick, easy, and confidential communications between us. Alexis is also extremely good at what she does and reflected Jill's ethos and approach to my divorce case.
Jill's fee schedule is worth every penny and then some. You pay as you go, and get billed monthly, which is convenient, and to my surprise, was a lot less than I expected. Most people like me say "I can't afford an attorney". Trust me, you can't afford to NOT have Jill as your attorney.
As a side note: At one point during the divorce, my ex told me that I had the best attorney in the Inland Empire, and "How did I get her?" My ex could only have come to that conclusion from her own attorney group. To the best of my knowledge, our divorce has been her only interaction or point of reference for legal services for the course of her life. I have secured the services of my ex's legal group in the past, and considered them to be very good, and am happy to report that for our divorce, my ex retained them first.
The point being, Jill and her staff are respected at a level of competence and tenacity by her peers that I find comforting.
My divorce was emotionally devastating at the very least, and Jill understands that. By her very nature, she was empathetic to my distress and sorrow. I never felt like I was "just another client" or source of revenue. She cares and it shows.
In closing, I can't thank Jill, Alexis, and Bolton Law, enough for their handling of my case. I will refer anyone that I come in contact with who needs legal representation to Jills' office.
I will also use Jill in any capacity that she practices in, for any future needs I may have.

Over the past 12 years, I have modified my childrens’ custody on multiple occasions. In 2018, I switched to attorney Jill Bolton as I honestly needed a more thorough and aggressive engagement in my case than other family law lawyers in Coeur d’Alene could provide. The change both in the law office and the courtroom was noticeable. The MyCase client platform kept me informed of my case progressions in real time. It was amazing to see how quick and knowledgeable Bolton argued my case in front of the judge. It is obvious that she has the respect from opposing attorneys and the judges alike.
With an attorney step brother and a CDA native myself, I have some understanding of which lawyers to recommend. For anyone looking for a family law lawyer, I cannot recommend Bolton Law enough. I have done so for 3 close friends and plan to continue doing so in the future.

I hired Michael G. Palmer of Palmer/George Law firm as my criminal attorney. In a criminal case it is important to establish a time line. Michael’s meticulous attention to detail did just that, allowing for a very congested mound of facts, figures, specifics, and hearsay to all be succinctly aligned to tell a story to the jury. He surrounds himself with a very skilled, efficient, tenacious staff and consultants, who will in turn, benefit you as the client. His staff’s courtroom preparation was spot on and Mr. Palmer’s professional interaction, clear communication to the jury, witness, and judge surpassed all expectations. I have a close friend who was falsely accused of a horrible crime and he and his staff handled the entire case as a real pro and got her an extremely fast acquittal from the jury. Mike is a defense attorney "force to be reckoned with"! Not only is he extremely professional, qualified and experienced, he also has an AMAZING and UNMATCHED presence and demeanor in a trial setting. To quote my husband..."Watching him in the courtroom was mesmerizing....Mike was BORN to do this!" Worth every penny!
I have also used Mike myself for a small family law issue but it didn't include a trial or any hearings. I have had other family members use him as well. I highly recommend him!

Not very happy with my divorce with Melanie who represented me. I asked her not to answer any questions from my ex who would call her wanting something explained regarding issues in the procedure. Any time he called her it racked up my fees. She had no business explaining anything to him as she represented me not him. He did not get an atty and I ended up paying for this. This was a tatic he was using on purpose to get back at me for filing for divorce. She continued to do so regardless of my request which added over $600 more to my atty fees. This was half way thru the divorce and I felt that she did not represent me as the one who hired her and did what she wanted regardless of my request. It still upsets me 3 years later. Be cautious of her integrity and make it clear who she represents and that it's not the other party.

Martha was so easy to work with for our adoption of our foster child. The Judge complimented her as well. He said, “I want to mention I do appreciate how prepared you come into court and always provide printed copies of documents as you know I like, along with having them organized passing them to me before I need to ask.” Her paralegal Penny was a hoot to speak to and both had very quick responses in which as you all know is rare for lawyers. We hired Mr. Waite to assist with a divorce situation. Sad to say working with him created tremendous additional stress due to poor advice and guidance, clarity on the process, lack of timely communication and his not being properly prepared to represent our information in hearings. Ultimately we parted company, but it cost us a lot of time and money for minimal benefit. I can safely say I personally would never hire Mr. Waite for any type legal needs in the future.

Unethical and prone to overbill. I hired them to represent me in a construction defect case. He never did anything and then sent me a letter saying he cannot represent me since he never agreed to represent me. But in the same letter he said I never paid the retainer. Why would he ask for a retainer if he never agreed to repersent me? They also tried to bill me for speaking with an attorney when I called to talk to the receptioist about a previous bill. She just patched me through to the attorney. I never asked to speak to the attorney, yet they tried to bill me for the call. Many attorneys are bad and this guy fits right in that category.

Hired Mr. Redal, wasted my time and money. I’m pretty sure he pleaded out my case before I even saw Judge Peterson. Both him and his office staff are horrible communicators. I still have no clue what he actually stated to the judge and when I requested my records, I was told to contact the court for records. Unprofessional and unethical. I sent him an email with pictures to prove I was at court via zoom, but because of my internet connection I was unable to speak to the judge. I was given a FTA and Redal did nothing to fix the situation with the judge. I emailed him evidence that should have had my case dropped, but he did nothing with it. Don’t waste your time or your money hiring Redal, you’re better off representing yourself…

John's skill is limited to criminal cases, and he is a deal maker, not a fighter in court. Communication with clients is horrendous; lucky if get any paperwork even if you ask. He's a has been, focus is on Selling you on hiring him, money talks, but it's short lived. Mike Palmer is awesome, so is Erik Smith, avoid Redal

I retained her to take over my divorce case. She had me sign a medication agreement (in the middle of the night, while I was driving cross country!), which seriously hurt my case since she didn't bother reviewing the document. She was not careful at all with what she had me sign, promising something that wasn't actually in the wording. The judge later said Alex screwed up telling me the document was only a short-term order. If you have a contested divorce, you don't want Alex, she's sloppy.
