Working Daryl and his team was a great experience. They made it all very simple, right down to the “sign right here” moments. Often times I was out of touch and my wife’s English was not very good at the time but they were patient and understanding. When we were a bit worked up, they took the time to put our worries at ease. Absolutely would recommend.

This firm took my case immediately and hit the ground running. They handled everything for me, even paid for the filing fee for arbitration. All I had to do was provide service records and facts. David and his team handled the rest. The day before my arbitration hearing, David called me to prepare for the hearing and discuss how it would go, this really eased my nerves. On the day of the hearing, David was a true professional when presenting facts and speaking on case law and statutes. His years of experience and knowledge became apparent immediately. He could not have been more prepared. Although I hope I never experience another lemon, this firm has earned a life-long client. I got a traffic ticket while vacationing in Hawaii. I approached Damir for guidance and help. Great prompt service, period. I was surprised at how fast and how reasonably priced the handling of my speeding ticket was. Damir found inconsistencies in the ticket and drafted a letter to submit to the court. He provided all the instructions on how to submit the paperwork , etc. Ticket was dismissed all together. Thank you ! If you are looking for an attorney, give him a call, i wouldn’t hesitate!

Very seldom does a person get to deal with a professional who deserves more than 5 stars! Thankfully we were able to find such a person in the sad period after our good friend died in Honolulu, HI.
We needed an estate and probate attorney to discuss and handle the distribution of the estate. We contacted Samuel Suen by email on a Sunday. He responded within a few hours and we set up a conference call for the following morning. Mr. Suen answered all our questions clearly in both a friendly and professional manner.
At the end of an hour-long discussion, for which there was no charge, I asked how we would pay his very reasonable hourly rate. Much to our surprise, he said we shouldn't hire him because there was no need to probate this particular will.
His honesty and forthrightness was amazing! We tried to figure out some reason to hire him but to no avail. Ultimately we wished him a very fond farewell.
Based on our experience, if you need an estate or probate attorney, you can't do better than Samuel Seun.

Words just can't express how grateful I am to have hired Alita as my attorney. I had a custody trial coming up in a month and my prior attorney could no longer help me. It was around the holidays and I was scrambling to find a new attorney. No response by a few, some not taking in any new clients, and a couple just seemed to not really care and gave a negative vibe. As soon as I had a consultation with Alita I immediately knew I had to hire her, if I could go back in time I would've hired her from the start. She is very genuine, compassionate, and easy to talk to. She accepted to take on my case and has done and helped me so much in such a short amount of time to prepare for trial and just with my case in general. She always kept me updated and responded quickly to my concerns. After all the preparation for trial it ended up getting pushed to a later date and from there she made it possible for an agreement between both parties to be made and trial set aside. My mother suffered a fractured jaw and bruised ribs from a fall at a commercial parking lot in Kailua. It was obvious the property management firm was negligent due to no lighting and obstructions leading to the overflow parking lot. You never want to settle directly with the insurance adjuster unless you have representation from an attorney. After consulting with dozens of attorneys who claimed they specialized in personal injury claims 99% refused to take the case citing: age of mom, Medicare issues and/or trouble prosecuting premise injuries. I finally came across with Sam King. Wow immediately I knew I found the right attorney. Most lawyers did not even want to spend much time on the phone discussing the issue but Mr. King invited us to his office and I could immediately know he was knowledgeable and very experienced in handling such cases. He knew how to work the system and who to talk with to get a good settlement. Other attorneys were simply clueless on many of these matters. I also liked that Mr. King never charged a penny upfront and I was free to consult with him regarding matters to this case. Very friendly and honest he could discuss the possible issues to expect. What my mom and I REALLY cherished from Mr. King was his ability to really listen. All these other attorneys talk and interrupt you constantly. Many times victims are formulating their thoughts and instead of assisting your thought process other attorneys cut you off. But not Mr. King. At the end we got a really big settlement w/o even having to go to trial. I would overwhelmingly recommend Mr. King to anyone who has experienced a personal injury.

When it rains, it pours, and it was “storming” in my life when I called Doi & Luke Island Lawyers. I was seeking a female attorney by referral but found that she no longer worked there. Emily, who received my call, warmly suggested that I speak with Kendal Luke, who patiently listened as I explained my situation and showed real concern.
It wasn’t until I shopped around and spoke with more than a half a dozen other attorneys, that I realized how fortunate I was to have found Kendal Luke on my first attempt. Every other attorney I spoke with after him I found to be abrupt, condescending and wary of answering too many questions during that first complimentary call. Kendal Luke, on the other hand, treated me more like a friend rather than a number, and was open to discussing any question I had. I felt at ease with him. He certainly stood out like a gem among the rocks. So, when it was time for me to hire an attorney, he was my obvious choice. But would he be a good attorney? Time would tell.
Throughout the proceedings, which took more than a year, there were many highs and lows and even times of frustration, such as that which occurs even between the best of friends. Yet, through it all, Kendal Luke and his staff stuck by me and always treated me with value and respect. He never pressured me to compromise on my values, even when I began to waver. I also appreciated that he didn’t nickel-and-dime me, as is so common with attorneys, but was always reasonable when accounting his fees. Most importantly, during the critical moments of the case, it would be his capacity for compassion that was key to representing me well. This is what drew me to selecting him, and I really feel that I couldn’t have selected a better attorney.
Now that my case has finally come to a close, I look back and am so thankful for having the team of Doi & Luke on my side. Kendal Luke and his staff often went above and beyond in various ways, so that I always felt as though I was among friends. “Island Lawyers” is a fitting name for this firm as they truly reflect the down-to-earth warmth that characterizes our islands.

The process of setting up a trust is just that, a process, and having someone who will take the time to sit, explain, answer questions, and then answer more questions as you go through the trust setup process is really important.
Keoni spent a lot of time with us, answering questions that came up along the way, gave us the guidance we needed to make sure we thought of everything and everyone involved. He was flexible is scheduling follow up meetings, due to our very hectic work & travel schedules, it took a few weeks longer then planned, but we are not done and feel better knowing we are on the right track.

When you're dealing with things like DV and custody, the last thing you need is to be used and abused by your lawyer/firm, someone who is supposed to advocate for and care about you.
I was with this firm for about a year. I was forced to switch to 3 different lawyers and was charged each time. DO NOT go with this firm. The first lawyer I had was so cold and gave bad legal advice that ended up screwing up my case. I was with the second lawyer for about a month before they switched me again. Again, I was charged each time for each new lawyer to review my case and to meet with them to catch them up. It was traumatizing because I'm going through a custody battle and DV case so each time I had to explain again about how my soon to be ex-husband is abusing and has abused me and my children. I've also been charged even when THEY had to reschedule a meeting. It was unreal. They called me a couple hours prior and I graciously agreed. Thankfully I watched the bills because they had the nerve to charge me for that call. It seems like they are very scattered, unorganized and greedy. I acknowledge that lawyers deserve to be paid but they absolutely went too far.
One of my lawyers I had literally called me the wrong name in court multiple times. One time mispronouncing it and one time calling me someone else's name entirely. It was humiliating. She also filed papers from someone else's case with my case papers. It was a nightmare! I'm so thankful I left and I now have a lawyer who genuinely cares.

Tom took on my case of coercive control. We settled a TRO, a cross TRO and a Paternity in 2 hearings. The father of my child is a police officer and really knew every card to play the system. Tom got me my child, child support, back support, and has held my hand through CPS interrogations, and every negative card my baby’s dad threw at me. He sees right through him. This process wasn’t easy for me, and I’m very young, and of course I made many bad choices and mistakes, but tom handled them all. Like I said, he stayed by my side through a CPS interrogation that was extremely biased. I will forever be grateful to this man for standing up for me in ways nobody else has ever stood up for me. My reputation and credibility was being slaughtered very quickly. Tom handled it. Period. End.

My family came to Ryan with a fairly uncommon problem. We needed his help transferring the guardianship of an adult from one state to another and also from one co-guardian to a new co-guardian. Sounds simple right? Ryan does not specialize in this type of law (I don't think many do), but he didn't bat an eye. During the initial consulting stages, we met several times or so to brainstorm and exchange information; I tried my best to be as thorough as possible without letting feelings come into play but in a post divorce case with my child involved, my emotions tended to come out at times. Ms. Lee was able to instinctively discern important information from the drama as we collaborated our approach to the case. She was compassionate toward the matter but when important elements of the case were needed to be brought to my attention, she did not hastily beat-around-the-bush or sugar coat it; instead, in a straight forward manner she informed me about what was at stake and the various options, if any, that could have been taken. After the initial meeting stages, she recommended that we meet with the opposing party in a pre-court settlement effort. I was definitely not in my element in that meeting, but which client really is? Ms. Lee's demeanor before and during the meeting put me at ease so I was able to think clearly. Both parties were able to settle a fair amount of issues in this meeting so the next thing was to await the court date. The court date arrived quickly and before I knew it, we were preparing to enter the courtroom. The outcome of the case achieved the end that was in my daughter's best interest. Ms. Lee had more than just knowledge of the law field, she had the ability to put this knowledge into effective action which demonstrated her wisdom of the profession.
