Me Hudspeth not only helped us but he believed in me when others were doubting me. Not only was he attentive, focused but he also helped get my child’s voice heard as it wasn’t before. I can’t tell you how much he did for my family as a whole. He will forever be not just our attorney, but someone we call and friend for everything he did. If I could ever recommend an attorney in Onslow county or the surrounding area I’m telling you he is the way to go. Mr. Hudspeth took on my case when others would not due to a near future deployment. He navigated my work caused communication issues and assisted me through a difficult process towards an agreement with my X. He was reasonable and professional in his guidance. As a male service member I now have 50/50 custody of my children, still have ownership of the home.

I hired Mr. Hudspeth as a Divorce lawyer. He explained everything in detail. He promptly took action. Kept in touch through email. My case took longer than planned but to no fault of Mr. Hudspeth. The Coronavirus closed the courts around the time I should have had my hearing. As soon as the the court system opened my case was pushed forward. I am very pleased with the outcome. I would hire Mr. Hudspeth again if needed.

Mr. Shanahan was always very professional and caring. He listened to all my concerns about my case and answered every question I had. He was very quick with all his responses either via phone call or email. If I ever wanted to meet with him he was usually avaible that same week to sit down and discuss my case. His paralegal Suzanne was extremely nice and polite. They both made this experience less daunting. The receptionist Danielle was also very cheerful and inviting and the office was always kept very tidy. I would recommend Mr. Shanahan and his team to anyone.

1. Mr. Shanahan was instrumental in helping me to work through complicated, multi-sated guardianship issues successfully. His staff, especially Suzanne, kept me informed every step of the way and arranged for meetings at my convenience. Mr. Shanahan and staff were always professional, understanding and very kind. 2. I had previously had Mr. Shanahan's help with the successful completion of a guardianship issue, so I did not hesitate to call on his expertise again in an issue regarding animal safety. He was able to negotiate with ADA and concerned parties to have this matter taken care of promptly and quite successfully. Knowledge and level of effort that are worth worth 4x what he charges. The guy worked twice as hard as my last attorney that literally changed me a retainer 4x what Mr Castle charged me. I can't say enough good things about this group of professionals. I know some will read this glowing review and think it to be a shill or fake review, but I dont care. I wont give this review any less than Mr Castle gave me in court.
I consulted with several attorneys before choosing The Castle Law firm. Mr. Castle was the only one that was willing to do the extra work and go the extra mile to get all the charges before I turned myself in. So I knew what I was facing before hand, to properly be prepared. That set the tone for the kind of service I received through out the entire case. Because of his effort he got me bail so cheap I could pay the bond without even going to the atm, then he got me a really great deal from the ADA. But I was dead set on clearing my name so we went to trial. The staff was always helpful keeping me updated and were easy to deal with. When the trial started I was able to see why Castle is known as the best damn trial lawyer in 3 county's. He stayed cool under pressure when the pretrial motions started. All the while I'm losing faith in the justice system with every motion the judge gives the prosecution. And the jury selection didnt make it look any better. By the time the ADA was done presenting the first witness I felt beaten. But not Castle. He reminded me, in not so many words, that it's not the luck of the draw the matters it's the way you play your cards, that count.
Once the state rested their case, Mr Castle began to slowly present his facts. Strategically shining a light on the holes in their case. With every question he asked you started to see a whole new picture coming to light. It was not long after that, I felt the tide begin to turn in our favor. As the fact pattern developed you could see he was in total control of everyone's attention in that court room, it was like a general leading the army to battle. The closing argument brought the different pieces together the way a conductor brings together the instruments of an orchestra. He gave the jury a chance to see and hear past the smoke and mirrors presented by a prosecutor that seemed to care more about winning than he cared about truth... the only thing I remember after that is hearing the judge say "Not Guilty"

We have had to call upon Vickie numerous times in order to fight the public school system to provide what is required by law for our two boys with learning disabilities. Vickie was driven, empathetic to our situation and persistent with the school staff and county attorney, so much so that the school board had to call an attorney from the NC State Board of Education. This attorney conceded that the county was egregiously non compliant and ruling in our favor. Our oldest son eventually received a full academic scholarship to college years later and we credit this success to Vickie for her steadfast determination! She is unbelievable.

I do not recommend this law firm if you are involved with DSS and want a chance of getting your kids back here they go and have a process and they go through the process never changing the process always the same results in order to be a good attorney you must be willing to change The process challenged the judge object often clarify every detail anytime Dss presents a new report or new allegations or allegations. You’re at court for my appeal went south because they did not object enough and often enough clarify and clear the air with opinions and hearsay. There is so much triple hearsay in my case it’s unbelievable, I often do not get response back immediately. I’m currently waiting two weeks that I requested my attorney to call me. I won’t point any names but it is this firm challenge from here on out. Do you want to fight for me and my kids? that’s not what happened so far Dss has run this thing , and nothing has been done this time to change the process to again. I have not had great success with this law firm lotta disappointments a lot of letdowns. This is my personal experience speaking from the heart. There is no privacy in Dss court. Everyone hears your case that’s in the court room. These are children. People should never hear other peoples issues. It should be case case a lot of these laws and Dss court along with hearsay double hearsay triple hearsay should all be taken off the table not any other criminal court or superior court or any court, other than Dss allows, hearsay of any kind , they will condemn me for hearsay and hearsay. Well....I wish I had the experience to rate it 5 stars!! I closed on a property late on Thursday as the seller. As anyone would expect, Friday came around with the expectation that my funds were going to be wired the following day (Friday). It was noon (Friday) and haven't seen anything so I called and was told that it was wired already by an employee and should get it later in the day. Later that day at 5pm, still nothing. To make shorten this story a bit, the lawyer was not able to send me the wire on Friday and didn't execute until Monday! I don't know about you or any other seller, but when we close on a house we expect the money same day or the NEXT! If the lawyer himself is the only that can send money in his office , it should be his responsibility to call his client and inform him of any delays. Don't ever assume that your client is not in need of the funds!!!

Ms Johnson did everything I asked her to do and kept my ego in check. She tenaciously fought for me and did not allow me to be my worst enemy. Her and I disagreed, but in the end she explained and I understood why she did the things she did and it worked perfectly. I hope I never need an attorney ever again, but if you’re in the Jacksonville NC area and need some civil service or litigation, I feel like she’s the fighter you want standing in your corner. This is the lawyer that I hired in 2011 and he has done nothing for me. Now I still have no visitation and now I am being raked through the coals for $2500 a month for one child, while I get no child support for the two children that live with me.
I asked a refund and now they don't even answer my emails. Good luck if you hire this lawyer! The worst part is that he took advantage of a fellow service member.
In case you are wondering, I am real person and I am not making any of this up. I read the other Google reviews and I am not surprised in the least.

Mr. Avery represented my (young adult) son recently, and I would give a 0 star if possible. My son received 0% counseling for his offence after paying thousands of dollars in fees. Mr. Avery drug his case out nearly 3 years. During this time my son would request zoom meetings to receive counseling for his offense and to ask questions and Mr. Avery would leave him sitting on the phone waiting, and was almost ALWAYS a no show. Mr. Avery NEVER returned phone calls or emails. Between myself and my son we drove 9 hours to appear in court after being told his case would finally be heard, Mr. Avery arrived hours late, continued his case (again) and told my son and myself "if you pay more money I can help you" in front of the entire courtroom. When his case was finally heard, Mr. Avery poorly represented him. I honestly think his case would have had a better outcome if he had represented himself. Afterwards, he received his plea in the mail and has not been able to receive any kind of explanation even weeks later. If you want to pay someone to waste your time and money Mr. Avery is the one for you.

I hired Mr. Berman in 2012 to handle my divorce and child custody case. He did an excellent job, always communicated in a timely manner, and never overcharged me--the way so many attorneys try to do. I am a professional who works with child support cases and i know for a fact, many people in these situations, when things don't go their way in court, end up trying to blame their attorney. Don't believe any negative reviews about Mr. Berman. He did a good job for me and I highly recommend him.

Lee Britt was appointed as my court appointed attorney on January 11, 2022. Unfortunately he wasn't able to represent me due to a conflict of interest. He withdrew from my case on February 3, 2022. I was never able to meet with him or talk him at all but he was still was willing to do 6 hours of labor for me even though it was a conflict of interest. A judgment was entered against me on May 19, 2022 for the 6 hours of labor performed by Lee Britt. Unfortunately I was never given a copy of the judgment and can't obtain a copy of the judgment from the courthouse. Today Lee Britt assured me that it was easy to get a copy of the judgment. I only give him 4 stars instead of 5 because it has been 13 months since the judgment was entered and I still don't have a copy of that judgment. Hopefully, Lee Britt can get a copy of this document for me.

There’s many things wrong with my current discovery. I learn things from any other source’s (family friend that studied NC law) i share it with him it’s always wrong. I’ve had two other lawyers look at my discovery and say it’s positively fightable and one turned me away all together lol. Or more or less he’ll hint if I actually paid him I wouldn’t be used as a pawn and sent back to prison for a drug I’ve never had. He says “Money talks” lmao I’m being offered 35-51 months as the first plea to take a trafficking LSD charge and a selling meth charge. I’ve never seen 100 tabs alone together. I used meth and bought as much as I could afford from the CRI. so how am I going to be charged for that? Lee Britt is a good lawyer according to my family in family court. While I was incarcerated he wouldn’t print me anything to study in law and other lawyers such as Paul castle, Nathan sweets, Matt Silva, etc are making sure their clients, retained or appointed, had paper copies to sit, study, and learn in their cells. I haven’t been indicted on the trafficking charges and he said that’s the only deal he’ll get that I should pay a lawyer if I want better results. I’ve missed my daughters birth, and first birthday I don’t want to miss anymore of her precious life unless it’s for something I actually did. The officers arrest statement is completely wrong and the camera at my place of arrest would show and then JPD would get scrutinized regardless because of how they did me. Of course Mr. Britt hasn’t asked for that lol. Zero, nada, No drugs where found on me, near me, in my car, or in my home. DO NOT HIRE MR. BRITT for criminal court. I’m trying to figure out how to get him to step down from my case. He doesn’t return phone calls. He’s yet to let me, the defendant see some alleged tape they’ve got. He’s neglectful. I’m writing to the Bar of Associated again on him.

When you call to obtain a paid service from an attorney and their secretary is rude, arrogant and hangs up on you when you ask them a question, it's usually a bad sign. When I ask the secretary for her name she refused to give it to me. I encourage Mrs Pope to rethink the people she has working for her.

I haven’t ever written a review on anything or anyone in my life.
Mr. Ceruzzi deserves to have some light she’d on the caliber of individual he is. My children were abducted, and removed from the state. This was the result of a highly contentious divorce, spanning over 3 states, foreign custody orders, and enough drama to require weeks for trial prep. I hired Mr. Ceruzzi on a Friday, he represented me on a Monday! He took the time to hear me out, and he’s the first of 4 lawyers in this process that truly cared.
He never mentioned the bias towards men getting custody of children, never uttered one negative outlook on the case, and that’s not a common trait these days.
Mr. Ceruzzi placed my daughters well being above other cases that were more pressing I’m sure! Mr. Ceruzzi is the reason I have full custody of my daughters. He’s the reason they have their own beds to sleep in. He’s the reason I wasn’t forced out of my daughter’s lives.
Words can’t describe how much the acts this man did for my family meant to me.
If you want someone who identifies and is just as passionate as you are about the case at hand... I’d say there is no better option than Mr. Ceruzzi.

I first retained the services of Ann D. Maready in 2015 to handle my divorce. I was living out-of-state at the time due to professional obligations. I wasn't pleased with the services I was receiving or the end result, but in the end I went with her advice as I simply wanted to get my divorce over with. I take some responsibility for the results in my divorce as I didn't consult an attorney sooner, however I still felt like I didn't receive the best assistance. I then consulted her again in 2018 to potentially assist with a child support modification and still wasn't pleased with the service provided. I felt like after consulting her that I literally had no options, even though I have since found that not to be the case under NC legal guidelines. This was just my experience with this attorney after having both hired and consulted her, I cannot speak for anyone else.

After taking my money, failed to return phone calls in a prompt manner if at all. Wasn't prepared for our meeting before court as he couldn't find my documents. Wasn't prepared for court either, presented someone else's evidence as mine. When the Judge made his decision, Mr. Oswalt took notes and asked relevant question. But, it really didn't matter as he decided to come up with his own decision contrary to the Judges and got the Judge along with the apposing lawyer to sign off on it. I brought it up several times through email that he was wrong that he needed to listen to the court recording. He just blew me off. He ended up pushing my custody back 2 years due to his neglect.

As a female professional, I’ve worked with countless attorneys. As a spouse of a military officer, new to the area, I had limited insight in obtaining experienced Onslow Co representation which led me to Lana. I’ve never met a more unprofessional legal ‘professional’. She doesn’t introduce herself, she doesn’t advise options, and she does as LITTLE AS POSSIBLE, and makes absolutely no effort to assist in providing much of ANY NECESSARY information to be well-informed and prepared; something I contracted and was PAYING for! As others have stated, she is RUDE and lacks any sort of helpful demeanor. Don’t waste your time or your money: people that give her good reviews obviously don’t have much experience dealing with professional lawyers or representation.

As a professional myself, I was completely DISGUSTED by her profound disrespect toward another, especially since I was paying her to merely do her JOB (which was a simple, basic case to begin with). I was married for 14 yrs in a marriage that lasted way too long. He left me financially destroyed. My Lycans didn't get me any sort settlement on the divorce. Didn't even try to. In the custody battle, I had 3 cases left to trial, she switched to my ex husband's lawyers law firm & could no longer represent me. So I had to hire another attorney last minute. What was worse is that she had put in her contract that I signed originally that I couldn't get my money back if it happened. So she knew the entire time she was switching to his lawyers lawfirm.
