Frances came up for me on a google search and, after reading the truly wonderful reviews,I decided to contact her. I got my first moving violation ticket on a very busy 4th of July weekend. It was bumper to bumper traffic. The congestion was so bad a group of cars formed another lane. I only joined so I can make a left turn, away from the traffic. Unfortunately, a police officer stopped the group of cars that formed another lane. Forming another lane was illegal. I was so grateful for Attorney Abasolo to assist me. On the day I had to appear at court, the Judge granted a no moving violation with no points charged, as long as I pay the fee - just as Attorney Abasolo had advised me. I was relieved for Attorney Abasolo's helpful and professional solution to my ticket dilemma. Thank You, Attorney Abasolo.

I am so grateful to Lizet Vazquez and Caitlyn Cournoyer at the Bhatt Law Group for their help so I could get a marriage license. My fiancé and I had planned a destination wedding in Key West and had guests flying and driving from different areas to celebrate our special day. We were at city hall in Key West to get our marriage license and unbeknownst to us, we needed the date of our divorces from our previous marriages. Mine was more than 20 years ago and I could not remember the exact date and my solo attorney had since passed. I called the Bhatt Law Group in Jersey City and Lizet said she would get an attorney to go to the court house to find the records. I was panicked at the thought of not getting the date and thus not being able to get a valid marriage license. Carolann Aschoff was my attorney in my recently completed divorce. Although my divorce was extremely amicable and my ex-wife and I had pretty much decided and agreed on everything prior to the papers even being filed I felt the need to have an attorney review our property settlement agreement to ensure that I was protected and I chose Ms. Aschoff. Matt handled my divorce proceedings simply and efficiently. He thoroughly and promptly answered my many questions, made all requested modifications to the agreements, and communicated with my ex and all officials so that I didn't have to. The filing and court procedures changed significantly during the pandemic, but Matt took care of everything without issue. Words do no justice for the outstanding service and professionalism I experienced being represented by Michael Shulman. Some background: I was found with a small, 500 MG weed cartridge for my vape pen and was subsequently arrested in NJ. I was given the option for a public defender but decided against it after speaking with some friends who are attorneys. I found my way to Michael Shulman through word of mouth, and I could not have chosen better representation.
Michael is thorough, quick to respond to emails (I rarely waited longer than 10 minutes) and answers all questions without hesitation. He has a clear grasp of the law and criminal defense and provides you with all your options. His prices are VERY fair given the level of service. I cannot imagine being represented by a public defender, especially after witnessing the other cases during my appearance before the judge/court.
I ultimately enter a “guilty plea” and opted for the conditional discharge which is a diversionary program in municipal court that exists for first-time drug offenders. I was required to enter probation (or “mini-probation”) for one year. Following completion, the charges are dropped, and record expunged.
There were some hiccups after being ordered to “mini-probation”. One month passed and I had still not receiving anything from court regarding probation. Two months, nothing. Three months, the same. Michael was proactive and reached out to the courts/probation every month to ensure I was covered, and the probation start date was not extended. This is the type of service you do not get with a public defender.
In short, if you find yourself needing criminal defense, do not play with your future. Call, email, text Michael Shulman. You will be glad you did.

I would HIGHLY recommend Michael Shulman. He is a true professional, honest, patient, very responsive, fair in judgement, cost, understanding and goes the extra mile. I recently was faced with a situation and needed legal representation. I called Mike on a Friday late afternoon, explained my circumstances briefly by phone and before he would commit to taking my case, he asked to meet with him the following day. He took time out of his Saturday morning to meet at his office so that he could better understand my case in a face to face environment as part of his due diligence process. In other words, this man does not just take your money, he is upfront and honest, will fight for you and remains 100% transparent. My situation did turn into a trial and Mike did win my case. He was extremely communicative during the entire process, including trial and I would add to this that not all cases win in court but having someone in your corner that you can trust is very comforting. I would not hesitate to call upon Mike for representation.

If I could give Attorney Darren Kirton a rating hirer than 5 stars I would. The sale of my rental property in Newark NJ was an extremely arduous journey. Besides having to navigate the process during a pandemic, we were also facing a litany of concerns with the property itself. Atty Garrett Simulcik was an amazing help to us in an eviction and sale of our rental property in 2022. He took on what we all thought would be a standard eviction case which turned sideways at all possible points. He navigated us through the disjointed Hudson County court system as they were figuring out a post-COVID docket load. He also deftly dealt with a former tenant whose apparent main goal was not resolution but to cause additional grief for all involved. In the end we gained possession and were able to put the condo on the market. Next, Mr. Simulcik got us through closing including an 11th hour twist with the buyer trying to gain additional concessions protecting us from more expense. His deep knowledge and experience through all of our matters was absolutely invaluable. He guided us to understand the law better in our situation, including help correct misconceptions we picked up online. We hired this lawyer to represent us in our case with our landlord with our serious mold and flooding issue. This lawyer sent a letter to our landlords lawyer who did not reply. After that this lawyer simply dropped our case and informed us that she can not represent us anymore. Waste of money waste of time. We do not recommend this law firm.
