When all hope was lost I stumbled upon Mrs. Crawford through a google search. I had no idea of the firm or her excellence specifically. I had, up to this point, my other sought after representation fail me miserably and had been misguided and unruly dealt with by the Chesapeake Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on multiple occasions. I had literally given up hope in that I would never get to be apart of my sons life the way that I wanted to be. With having already spent a great deal of time and money in the matter I was just drained physically, mentally, and financially. For any father who has dealt with our broken system, its supposed ultimate 'judges of character,' and their puppets, you will know that it is not an easy road to travel. With the encouragement of a few and with nothing to lose I went for it one last time. The day I sat down with her in the quiet and rather small but warming confines of her office I explained and expressed to her in probably a quite disgruntled way, as perceived by Mrs. Crawford, my situation. All my insecurities changed within the 30 minutes I was there, of course I was not entirely sold yet but that was just the beginning. Skipping forward to the best part; Now my relationship with my little boy is stronger than ever and so is he, academically, mentally, physically, and socially. I am not saying that Mrs. Crawford can work miracles, you have to go to her with a good foundation in yourself and the reasons for your requests but she definitely takes care of it from there. After all was said and done I felt that I owed her so much more than money.

My husband has used Mr. Price for several family law issues, and we have been very satisfied with his work and responsiveness, both of which were problems for us with other attorneys. Mr. Price is not a barracuda--he's not out to win--he's out to find a reasonable solution to tough problems, which is what any family attorney should be doing, in my opinion. There are no winners in family court, after all.
I love that he is honest with us, even when it's truth we don't want to hear. I respect that, and him, immensely.

Michael has been outstanding in protecting, and guiding me through what has unfortunately been a tumultuous divorce process. He has vigorously protected my rights and successfully defended me through what should have been an amicable divorce. Every step of the way, Michael and his staff have been there to answer my questions, and explain the next steps when I wasn't sure. He also has eased my mind many times when things became almost unbearable during this process. His expertise and longevity in Family Law has proven that the only way to go when going through a divorce, is with an attorney who "specializes" in Family Law. Thank you, Michael and staff. I am only posting anonymously, out of respect for the privacy of both parties involved. I hired Michael, after interviewing three other attorneys in the area, because he took the time to hear my concerns and answer questions on the first phone call I made to him. He spoke with me personally, and didn't just pass me off to a scheduler. I was able to determine with my first phone call, if he was the right fit for me. When an attorney speaks with you personally so you can save time and not have to schedule a consultation weeks out, you make a better informed decision that helps you want to schedule that consultation. In the beginning when realizing my marriage was unsalvageable, waiting a week or more to speak with an attorney was adding to the stress of an already fast moving stressful situation. I was able to meet with him within a few days, and the next day he had filed the divorce complaint and requested a pendente lite hearing to protect marital assets and request temporary spousal support.

I needed a lawyer that would listen to me . I was going through a custody issue with my ex-wife. I tried to explain my issues with other attorneys and they stated it was too complicated. I was about to give up until a friend of mine who is a lawyer told me that the best person to go to if I wanted to stand a chance of winning was Kimberly Phillips. I told her my story and all the issues that I was having. She told me that she understood what I was going through and knew exactly what to do to help me with my situation. I hired her because I knew that she really wanted to help me. Her actions spoke louder than her words. She always contacted me continuously to keep me up to date at all times on what direction we were headed. I never had to wonder what was going on. She was always available to answer all my questions. She is very honest. She always showed concern. It seems as if she never stop working. She made me feel that I was her only client. I appreciated her kindness and her patience. Mrs. Phillips explained legal terms to me in a way that I could understand it. Mrs. Phillips did endless research on my case and was able to discover things about my ex-wife that I didn't know. In court, Mrs Phillips STOOD HER ground. I was very impressed. She is very good. If it wasn't for Mrs.Phillips, I would not have won custody of my son. I can not thank her enough. He fraudulently agreed to represent me for a workman's comp complaint against Riverside health systems after not being allowed to return to work after 18mos, several OSHA violations that resulted in 6 awards by the workman's comp commission and no compensation for the time I was out of work. He convinced me to go to mediation. Prior to, I did my own case research and forwarded him a case where the defendant was awarded damages, and compensation. When we got to the mediation, I asked him if he reviewed the case I sent him. He lied and I knew it cuz he got a shady look right quick and said he never got it. When I suggested we need to reschedule, he said it wouldn't look good if I did. When started meditation, the mediator told me "6 awards is a problem". In my head I was obviously confused as to how an award on any day is a problem. But he agreed?! After then denying the minimum number if the case, they left me alone for but than an hour, and spent the whole day helping them get it of every award. At then of the day, they settled for $50,000 (less than1yrs pay) , paying workman's comp 40% of it, I was banned from employment with RHS and any of their subsidiaries, they refused to certify my time for PSLF, and he conveniently sent my a $500 refund. My guess he was made an offer he couldn't refuse and sold me out because Riverside is is a multi-billion dollar entity.

I called this law firm for my husband's legal issue. The woman who answered the phone was not very helpful. I explained that he had 21 days to respond to a civil summon and we were almost 10 in based on the date in which he was served. She offered me a consultation a month later. I asked why it will take a month to get a consultation, and she stated "because he (the attorney) is busy. I just explained the urgency and that didn't seem to matter. Also, I would imagine if you work in this field, you'd understand the need to respond swiftly. My first impression was not good. Will try to find someone else.

I hired Ms. Maiden because she promised me that she did more "hand-holding" through a contentious divorce than the typical lawyer. The exact opposite was true. She ignored my case to the extent she even failed to present an offer that was made by the opposing party; when I finally had to hire another lawyer, I was too burned out to file a bar complaint for what is very much a breach of duties. In short, she was non-responsive, allowed my case to drag out, caused me unbelievable stress and ultimately cost me thousands of dollars when she abdicated my bargaining power by pissing off and ignoring my ex-spouse and his attorney as well. If I could give her a negative rating, I would as she had a complete negative impact on me, my family and my case.

Mr. Garrett failed as an attorney for me as he did not respond in a timely manner to many of my emails and phone calls. He called me petty and vindictive when I asked for clarification and refused to sign something until he explained what he was asking for. He refused to answer many of my questions and was not timely in his delivery of any of my documents. I was forced to pay for a next day signed copy of my documents myself due to the fact that he didn't get them to me in time, and then he texted me that they were returned to him. Do not hire him if it's anything other than a traffic violation.

I had retained Mr. Garrett as my attorney at a tune of $2500 to only go to preliminaries. After I was charged with a felony I bonded out. After I bonded out the DA added a charge due to Mr. Garretts poor oral skills at preliminaries. I was then locked up for the 2nd charge and left in Va Beach correctional for 9 days because Mr. Garrett blew off 3 people i had calling him plus myself in the cell block. Needless to say I fired him after he finally got me a bond hearing on day 9 of being in jail. Meet my new attorney in the parking lot and hired him with no problems.

I called and inquired about service several weeks ago. NO RESPONSE! I even inquired about securing a retainer, NO RESPONSE. I finally LVM asking my call to be returned and if this was not a case they desired to take on to let me know so I can find other representation. NO RESPONSE. I read the mixed reviews after to contacting them. What clients are complaining about regarding poor communication is very TRUE!!!!

She has lied to me and was on the prosecutors from day one. She came to court wearing clothing a lawyer would never wear . Hair all over the place . She screamed at me she told me it was a waste of her time to take dss to trail that I should give my kids up basically she tricked me in to pleading to something and told me it was not against me or would be on my record . She very nasty when sulking to me. She never sends any paperwork requested. Shoot I don’t even get notified of court . She very few addressed me prior to and when she did it was seconds prior in front of dss so they can hear what’s being said. I got to tell her when to object and why .its crazy I tried to fire her but the judges denied my request. It’s insane. You have no chance if you have her.
