I had the experience/expense of working with Mr. Sherlock. I had initially retained his partner Sara. She went on maternity leave and due to their other partner completely bumbling a judgement. Jason stepped in. He talked a big talk. Made me feel at ease. But actions fell far far far short. Emails went unreturned for a good amount of time. Paperwork not filed on time but sent to the courtroom clerk last minute. I spent two years and tens of thousands of dollars with this firm. Trusting their advice and the process. I am baby steps ahead of where I begin.

I was having an impossible time getting my and my children's lives back on track after a falling out with their mother. I had tried every avenue to stabilize the situation, but was fighting against substance abuse and false accusations to try to cover it. Every time I thought I would get my children and I on a stable footing, and some kind of agreement worked out with their mother, she'd throw it all out the window and we'd be back to square one. People just weren't believing the extreme things she was doing, and every time she'd destabilize our lives it'd come with an even larger set of accusations to cover it up. It ultimately culminated in me moving out of state on the promise the custody agreement would be maintained from her attorney, only to have her fire her attorney and renig on the agreement after we had moved. She was gatekeeping my access and communication to the children so severely I almost never got to speak with or see them, and then she would turn around and tell DCSS and other agencies I'd abandoned them and never spoke to or saw them. A relocation that had been planned for months with her attorney, she'd turn around and claim was abrupt and unexpected. It was an absolute nightmare. I hired Lauren, and she immediately went to work. Fighting every step of the way. Taking down each false accusation in court. Showing the court system exactly what my children and I had been going through, and fighting to end it. There were so many times with the onslaught of these claims and accusations that I wanted to give up, I just couldn't handle the stress of nearly two years of it. But Lauren convinced me that I had a good case. I was a good father. Being with me is what was best for the kids. And things would only get worse if the situation was left unaddressed. And it ultimately paid off.
Not only am I happy with the outcome, and my children are happy to finally be reunited with their older brother, and our new life together without the stress of this situation looming over our heads. But I got myself back. I'd gotten to the point where I was questioning whether or not I knew what was best for my own kids, whether or not I deserved what I thought was fair. But after all the times Lauren told me "Don't give up, we can do this." - it finally stuck in my head. Best money I've ever spent. And knowing she's got my back from now until my kids are adults has let me finally relax and just focus on being a dad.

We were at a loss, beyond words, when our visitations with our granddaughter was abruptly stopped.
We hired Lauren Pruett and her team to specifically to re-establish overnight visits with our granddaughter. We followed her guidance thoroughly and now we have overnights, day visits, and scheduled FaceTime calls.
Lauren's experience and professionalism was evident in and outside the courtroom. She outlined what we should expect and gave us a realistic timeline that was very accurate.

Dena is the 3rd and final attorney we consulted and retained. We had two terrible experiences before finding her. We have been in a long time custody battle that includes an abusive/neglectful mother. Dena is experienced (at life as well as law) and was able to provide us and our children the help we needed. Unfortunately we will need to retain her again here shortly but we feel hopeful because Dena is excellent. Highly recommended, very knowledgeable about helping families (especially kids) who suffer abusive relationships.

My experience with Sara was amazing in the beginning. So I thought. She developed a level of trust. Coming from a trusting person. That means a lot. I trusted her. I’m really late at writing this, but my husband and I hired Sara Anderson to help with termination of parental rights, stepparent adoption and a restraining order. I came to Darci in panic as my ex-husband and father of my 2 kids was loosing all self control. He had already been effecting us for a decade due to his uncontrolled mental illness, however it had now turned to death threats, stalking and harassment in a consistent way. After hearing from other lawyers that I did not have enough to be awarded a DVRO, Darci assured me I had plenty of documentation and sure enough she got me a 5 year domestic violence restraining order which also gave me sole custody of the kids with only supervised visits between the kids and their dad. Later she helped me turn my legal separation into a divorce and after that she helped me get my Move Away request put through the court once I remarried and moved away to a different state. After my ex requested unsupervised time with the kids, something I knew was unsafe and both kids did not want, Darci helped me argue against a terrible court mediator who did not look at any of the 100+ pages of documentation showing the father was not safe and suggested I obtain a Custody Evaluator to more thoroughly review the situation and facts and make more informed and safer conclusions. I paid the money to that evaluator, which was not cheap, but so worth the money. Now their dad has substantive tasks he must accomplish before either me or the courts are OK with unsupervised time (26 weeks of anger mgmt, weekly therapy, psychiatry for meds, requiring more visits on his part to show effort, reunification therapy with the kids, etc). Beware of bad court appointed mediators, however Darci helped me immensely to sort through the tough decisions and emotions of the events and come to a conclusion that was safe and in the best interest for the children. This process was not cheap, but children never are and if you are going to pay for anything it should be for the well-being of your kids. I would definitely recommend Darci McKean for anyone dealing with the issues I mentioned above.

I usually dont write bad reviews but I know how painfull could be to have an incometent lawyer.In a few words Darci Mckean is incompetent with no care and empathy. She was my lawyer for more than a year in a case with no custody ,no fight over assets involved and could not finalized my divorce. Due to errors in filling my case was denied many many times.At he end with once consultation with another lawyer my divorce was finalized in a month without a lawyer.

Duplicity, cunning, conieving attorney at law, who is a feministic practicing misandry. Had orders of protection issued based on falacy and misused the system. Her false practices contribute to clogging the system unnecessarily, preventing true abuse cases from having their cases thoroughly examined and causing irreparable harm to children via parental alienation of good fathers. She would rather punish and line her pockets with cash than see justice prevail.

First, let me say that if you're trying to negotiate a "fair outcome" during divorce without involving lawyers, good luck. As an non family law expert, relying only on hearsay from family, friends, and tv shows, I was ill prepared to reach a "fair" resolution.
6 years after my divorce was finalized, Christie assisted me when my ex had a "qualifying event" to modify spousal support. She knows when to play the game and when to turn on the bulldog switch. I was pleased with the mutually beneficial outcome she helped me nail down.
