I was issued a citation that I needed to dispute, but not having gone through the process before, I was unaware how to do so. Edgar provided great guidance and when the time came for my hearing, he was very clear with instructions and advice. He was willing to represent me remotely (small town!) and accurately forecast the expected actions of the police who had issued the citation.

Edgar Diaz, was my lawyer for my child custody case. Edgar is a lawyer who was referred to me through the modest means program. I met Ms. Dentinger early on in my process of trying to decide if I was going to proceed with a divorce. From the outset, she was forthright and I felt confident in her advice. She listened to my desired outcomes in the process and kept that as our focus throughout the divorce proceedings. She is an excellent ally, tells you "how it is", and keeps things realistic. She was compassionate to me but was directive and dogged when dealing with the other attorney. Although divorce is a stressful process, Ms. Dentinger is phenomenal at what she does and I feel that my decision to have her represent me made my divorce proceedings as smooth as they could be. Tammy is a very knowledgeable attorney that really understands the process. I really appreciated how she handled my case and the aggressiveness of the opposing side. I worked very well with her. I really appreciated how Tammy would lay out the options and didn't always have to fight w/ the opposing side for the sake of fighting. However, when a issue or problem occurred that required a strong stance, she went to bat. Divorce is a very stressful event. Looking back I really valued her openness to share the pros and cons of various issues/proposals, and her ability to change tactics based on her knowledge of opposing attorneys. The opposing attorney in my case was known for being rather aggressive and argumentative. At the onset of our legal relationship, Tammy predicted what he would likely do and how we would respond, or even not respond. I am very pleased w/ the representation I received from Tammy and her staff. Tammy and her team always responded quickly to my calls/emails and was always available to answer questions. I would strongly recommend Tammy.

We contacted Lori Jenkins for my husband to adopt my four children, all teenagers. She was very knowledgeable about any and all questions we had. She handled our case with care and efficiency. My husband and I hired Lori initially to help us terminate my Ex’s legal rights to my son and allow my husband to adopt my son. It ended up being a long, brutal, custody battle with my ex who had resurfaced after being absent for years from my son’s life. Lori fought hard for us, prepared us every step of the way, took time to listen to us but also told us ways we could cut costs by handling certain things ourselves. She told us our options along the way and explained why she recommended one option over the other. She helped us see things realistically and at times helped to reel in emotions and keep things focused on our son vs my ex. With her help we were able to come to a sustainable agreement that kept our son safe. My ex was granted supervised visits that would graduate to unsupervised, then overnights, then short summer visits then eventually 3week summer visits. Lori told us this was the best solution to give him time to prove himself or enough rope to hang himself. It’s been over 5yrs since that arrangement was made and he has still never had an unsupervised visit and only maintained contact for about a year. Lori still touches base with us to see how we are doing. Our son turns 18 next year and Lori will be handling the adult adoption case for us so my husband can finally legally be named his dad. I can't say enough about Grant Cook, representing me in two different cases. In two separate courts. One case against a landlord. The other a family court matter. I found him to be thorough and an excellent communicator. Kept me in the loop with information as he received it. Chelsea Armstrong came highly recommended related to a matter of my wife being owed an unpaid judgment. In an effort to evade payment, the person that owed the judgement resorted to legally harassing us instead. Chelsea stepped in immediately, was proactive, communicated extremely well, was rock solid on follow-through, was highly accurate in her work and legal assessment, took up the matter in a hearing that she initiated, and was very effective in shutting down the nonsense. Chelsea is compassionate and empathetic to parents in custody battles. Chelsea Armstrong was my attorney for close to three years and in that time she helped me immensely. I went through a very nasty divorce that was fueled by a bitter ex. Along the entire process which eventually led to the Oregon Court of Appeals, Chelsea was great. She was very informative of our odds of winning at every stage. She was able to educate me on the case and give me great advice. At each junction I was the one making the ultimate decision with the help of her legal expertise.
Quite often in a bitter divorce case it feels so traumatic and devastating to your life, in that aspect Chelsea was outstanding as well. I would talk to her and every time would feel better, and if I just followed her directions and did as she said I would be fine in the end. My ex had an attorney that just tried to do everything the old school way which inflates the cost. Chelsea really tried to keep the costs down as much as possible by thinking outside the box. I truly believe that you are so much more than just a case number to her. Kevin Lafky was successful in my lawsuit for my wrongful termination case, against a billion dollar company represented by a top Portland Corporate firm. I had success on other lessor issues with the firm. Beyond what this firm has done for me, such an advocate for the underdog or counterbalance against Government abuse. Most lawyers are too affraid to help the community the way this firm has helped. I don't care what any website or political complaint says to try to soil this man's reputation, this firm is huge resource to the community and is a better place because of him, by virtue of calling out or prosecuting abuse and corruption that other's won't. Zachary Gottlieb took over my case after 10 months of getting nowhere with my existing divorce attorney. It has been almost 2 years and I am grateful I had the opportunity of starting my family law case with Katherine Denning. Unfortunately, my situation was incredibly high conflict and I started out without representation and restraining orders on both sides were approved with identical restrictions. After a consultation, Katherine helped with confidence and determination. Slowly that all unraveled as communicating became confusing and eventually I was working with Zach right before a seperate hearing relating to my childrens' home and possessions. When I had cried on the phone due to being overwhelmed I was dropped by Katherine with only 2 days left until a hearing took place. I was referred to another attorney/firm. I'll never forget trying to find a lawyer and requesting that the judge postpone the hearing. I represented myself at the hearing and although i didn't get the outcome i wanted, I am proud of myself for facing my abuser on the stand. His lawyer also messed up quite a bit and was less scary during the hearing. However, the judge had no sympathy that I was lawyerless in which I am getting very used to in the legal field. Overall, my ex' lawyer was agressive and unfortunately my replacement did not put in an effort at all. This is no fault of Litowich, however I do think attorneys should be willing to learn how to deal with victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault before taking on high conflict cases. It's reasonable for clients to be confused or emotional, however If you have a high conflict case that involves domestic abuse, do your best not to become emotional or look for a lawyer who is patient and experienced with domestic/sexual abuse survivors.
