It is with great pleasure to write the following on behalf of the law firm of Felix and Killen. Upon meeting Daniella Felix, it was quite evident that I was meeting an attorney who was willing to hear my story of the auto accident in which I was injured. Though I had never experienced such a moment, Daniella listened with great concern as to what had occurred. In explaining to Daniella what had happened, I noticed that she was very compassionate and wanted to be sure that I was receiving care for my injury.
Once it was decided that Daniella and her partner, Bryce Kellen would take my case, my wife and I felt assured that we would be in good hands with their firm. Daniella took the lead of our case and proceeded to ask of details and proceed with her investigation. She once again wanted to be sure that I was receiving proper care above all. She contacted the other party’s Insurance Company and took care of all the necessary details so that I may focus on my medical care. She also contacted my Medical Provider so they would know who should be billed for the expenses incurred.
All in all, I could not have found a better Law Firm than Felix and Kellen. Daniella worked tirelessly to handle all our legal issues, during this traumatic time for my wife and I. She was very professional and above all was extremely compassionate in assisting us during this period. We are very happy how things have turned out and Thank You very, very much Daniella Felix. Greg McMurray was a great find! A lawyer with impeccable credentials, known and respected by local lawyers and judges, with an approachable communication style that puts the client at ease while still conveying all the important information, extremely knowledgeable about the law, and experienced in how best to advocate for his clients. I wish I had found him sooner! He is worth every penny (saved me lots of money in the end). I would have used him in my family law case if I had known about him earlier.
Greg defended me in a criminal case that resulted in all charges being dropped and my record left clear. It was a result that I deserved, but didn't believe I would receive. In fact, I wouldn't have, with a lesser advocate. Greg made me aware of the challenges in my case, what he saw as our path forward, and he made sure i was prepared at every stage. Mr. McMurray was my lawyer back in December of 2010 when I was arrested by the SB County Sheriff's department. I won't go into details, but I was in serious trouble and looking at some time behind bars.
In short I began to turn my life around I got myself into some local programs to deal with my personal problems. Taking Mr. McMurray's advice I worked hard to improve my situation. Mr. McMurray was truthful and helpful through the entire process, including giving me a payment plan option which helped a lot. Because legal trouble can be expensive outside of hiring a lawyer. He went to bat for me with the DA and the Judge because I fulfilled my promise to keep myself on track. I ended up avoiding jail time all together and I haven't looked back since. Alcohol was a part of my story and I've been sober ever since in part due to Mr. McMurray and his work on my behalf. Simply put he was my advocate and he helped me present my case as someone who needed help, got it and then as someone who needed a chance to make good and I can happily say he got me a second chance.

Thanks to the hard work of Guneet Kaur and her team, I came out victorious in a very depressing divorce case. Guneet Kaur was able to turn around all the dishonest attacks from the opposite side and justice prevailed. My ex didn't get a single thing she wanted other that the equal custody which was predictable and, the judge awarded me a large amount to paid back almost half of my legal fees. As grandparents we had little chance of maintaining our visitation orders with our grandchildren. Guneet gave wise advice as to what we should and shouldn't ask the judge for. We had an unusual case that required our attorney to think outside the box, and of course inside the law. Guneet fulfilled that for us and won our case. With her expertise, intelligence and knowledge of the Santa Barbara court system we and our grandchildren continue to enjoy regular visits together. There are times when one makes good decisions, and this one I made was amazing! I found Ms Pullen online. My criteria was to find an intelligent, compassionate, sharp attorney, and that is Ms Pullen!
This was a difficult, stressful situation. I had to leave my trust and faith in her hands. I never felt uncomfortable doing this. I listened and did what she said. And it was my good fortune I did, as her advice was impeccable and served me very well.

I highly recommend Drury Pullen a Professional Law Corporation for family law representation. My child custody and divorce case spanned over a year given its complexity. At the beginning, I had the opportunity to work briefly with Jennifer Drury but later I extensively worked with Susanna Pullen. Both attorneys were responsive, compassionate and professional.
Susanna is proficient in many areas as an attorney but the areas I was most impressed with as a client were Susanna’s ability to: 1) assimilate information quickly and respond effectively, 2) write a clear and convincing brief, and 3) prepare and craft questions for witnesses.
Susanna demonstrated over and over her keen ability to respond quickly and effectively under pressure at court hearings and at trial. Susanna’s ability to absorb new information and assimilate it with old information was very impressive. For example, during a trial lunch break, Susanna quickly processed newly submitted doctor’s notes and evaluations. Susanna came back to court and was able to use the information to ask discerning questions of subsequent witnesses and to integrate the new information into her summation.
From the beginning, Susanna’s extensive knowledge of family law was clearly reflected within the briefs she submitted to the court. Her briefs were well written and conveyed strong convincing arguments for the outcomes we were seeking. Susanna took care to accurately reference and cite important points as the case progressed.
Susanna was also outstanding at thinking on her feet in the court room during the cross examination of witnesses. Before trial, Susanna took the time to understand who the witnesses were and what they might testify. Susanna’s preparation laid a solid foundation for the thoughtful questions she asked witnesses. Susanna however was not constrained by the questions she prepared. Susanna actively listened to the answers of witnesses and in multiple instances she asked important follow-up questions in response to what witnesses had just testified.
Throughout the year-long process, Susanna didn’t promise any specific court outcome. Instead, Susanna provided honest, upfront, and realistic feedback throughout the ongoing child custody and divorce process so that I was able to manage my expectations appropriately. The child custody and divorce process was arduous and required my active collaboration and participation. I really appreciated Susanna Pullen’s expertise and I highly recommend her as a family law attorney.

When I met Channe, She listened to me and immediately devised a plan using her expert knowledge, analytical skills, experience, and passion, so I retained her services. Channe helped me get justice. I hired Channe in the tenth hour just before my evidentiary hearing on custody, visitation, and child support. My prior attorney disappeared, and given the circumstances I couldn't push out the hearing and go with the date I had, only a week away. I met with multiple attorneys, but because I had already been paying for an attorney I was low on funds. I couldn't afford many attorneys' retainers (some asked for $10k-$20k), but Channe's was much more affordable.
Channe really went to bat for me and represented me better than I could have imagined. My children are now safe and thriving under the new schedule and I'm receiving more child support than I was previously told I would because she found funds my ex was hiding. Although there was very little time between when I retained her and my hearing, she and her staff were very responsive to my questions and guided me through the process. If I need a family law attorney again, Channe will be my first call.

I have been very happy with Matt as my attorney. Helen is a sound attorney with a deep knowledge of the law and the procedures and applications in the practie of lawyering. She is a client advocate and attentive counsel to her clients in the community, but also in the coourt room. Additionally, Helen is a professor of law at the Southern California Institute of Law where she teached Family Law, Civil Procedure, and Evidence. Needless to say she is intelligent. I would highly recommend Helen as a lawyer.

Hiring Matthew Long was the best decision I could have made. After consulting with several other attorneys, I found Matthew to be the most knowledgeable, professional and of the highest integrity in his dealings with me. Rather like most people who go and see Renee, it was not a fun time in my life. Renee made a difference. She gave great advice, she knew the right blend of aggression and amelioration and, something that is very important to me, she is honest. I was looking for a competent and trustworthy family law attorney who could help in my Santa Barbara and Santa Maria matter. Bob was handled our case for my daughter who was injured in a car accident. We were basically satisfied with the work, however based on how Bob explained his fee structure to us, we felt that we were lied to and cheated. We tried to have an honest discussion with Bob-it didn't go very well. It is our opinion that we caught Bob in a lie when he told us his assistant Wendy was in the conference room when he explained the fee structure percentage. My family is positive Wendy was not there- so obviously why Wendy would not confirm to us that she was present. We are hopeful that Bob will have the professional integrity and make this right.

When my husband passed away it was a shock. A friend realized that I was going to need a lawyer. I called Charles office in a panic and spoke with Beth. Without hesitation Charles was on the phone with me and after only 10 minutes he knew exactly what to do. He showed up for me! For 3 years, he and the team were my voice. It was a complicated, frustrating fight to the finish. Through the entirety of the pandemic, with court cases being pushed and dealing with multiple lawyers on the other side, Charles and team kept me calm, walked me through everything step by step. They made sure to answer every question, take every meeting and most importantly heard every word I said. Even when I was completely freaking out. Charles was my muscle.

I had hired a more senior lawyer to handle my divorce case against a well-heeled and rapacious (now ex) spouse. When this attorney took an unexpected leave for medical reasons, Morgan (then Nix, not Hoover) took over my case. Not sure if it was her burdened case load or her inexperience in dealing with predatory opponents, but she was cold, unimaginative, and unsympathetic throughout our time working together. While she answered emails and handled communications "efficiently," on the day of our 11.5-hr-long mediation session (over Zoom), she deferred almost entirely to the forensic accountant the law firm had hired, and when their legal strategy failed to elicit the mediating judge's sympathy, Morgan had no "Plan B." She then put the burden of negotiating and decision making entirely on me, even though I was clueless and emotionally ill-equipped for shouldering it, especially after 9 hrs of mediation. My settlement ended up being 40% less than what she and the accountant had claimed they could get for me. I feel she failed to truly invest in getting to know my case or me (though she had enough time to do so), and afterwards, when I expressed
disappointment in the lower settlement, she pushed back in a very unprofessional way and refused to take any responsibility, blaming me for agreeing to the settlement. Based on her results and "bedside manner," in my case I would give her 1 star at best, but will up it to 2 because she promptly answering emails.
