I can't begin to put into words how lucky I feel to have been represented by Ashley Smith in my divorce and custody case. Ashley cares about her clients and during what was easily the scariest and most difficult time in my life, I was able to focus on what mattered, protecting my 7 yr old daughter, myself, work, and keeping a straight head knowing I had Ashley on my side to quickly navigate and provide outstanding advise during a chaotic time. She believed in me and was always available and immediately got back to me the numerous times I had to contact her. I was prepared most importantly for the 2 times we had to go in front of a judge and was calm on the stand because I listened to Ashley's advise. Unfortunately my case involved addiction and child endangerment. When going through something like this, you almost spend as much time contacting your lawyer as you do speaking to friends and family. Trust me when I say Ashley is the one you want fighting for you. These things are long and drawn out and I could not imagine confiding in and being represented by anyone else. Ashley is easy to speak to and highly respected among her peers and all in her industry and that was obvious to me. Ashley simply gets it done, quickly and professionally and is there for you to make sense of all the curveballs and things that can occur in a case like mine. I am forever grateful for what Ashley did for me and my family and I am stronger than ever after going through what I have because of an amazing support system I had and have, but knowing the leader of this was Ashley whether she knows it or not. I cannot say enough about Ms. Ashley Smith. She is the eye of the storm. The part in the middle that is calm and stable while there is chaos spinning all around. Some of us, like me show up in her office vulnerable, clueless, scared, hopeless the list goes on. Ashley is not your therapist nor is she going to tell you everything will be fine but what she will do is listen, focus, instruct, compile, answer every single question, guide you. She will only reach out if she has to. Be patient because I can assure you she is working thoroughly on your case. I put all of my trust and fate in her hands and it was not easy. Gray was amazing!! He was always professional, informative and patient. He went above and beyond in explaining the process and constantly fighting for my best interest. In April I had an emergent situation come up and had to file for custody after previously not having to have an order. In addition, I was having to do so from 2 hours away. Ms. Loshinsky was great from the start. She was always prompt when returning my calls and emails and worked very hard to get the final outcome that I was hoping for. She did her best to make sure that I wasn't having to make unnecessary trips to and from Wilmington, etc. I know that during this process I probably drove her crazy, if I did, she never hinted at it. She was always patient and diligent. I would recommend her and I would use her again should the need arise. Thank you!

Attorney Loshinsky filed my divorce - which was not a cut and dry proposition. I was married to a Mexican National, and we had been married in Mexico City. She was able to get the papers served to my husband in an extremely cost-efficient way that served the requirements of the U.S. court the papers were filed with. Sarah went above and beyond on my intense high conflict child support and custody case. She explained things thoroughly without making me feel silly about being so stressed and worried. I could tell she took the necessary focus and time to my case to assure we held the highest ground in that courtroom as my case even went to trial. I had so much false accusations and slander being thrown my way and Sarah made sure I remained calm through the process. She took impeccable notes during trial which resulted in us being able to prove what was actually ordered when opposing tried to make changes AFTER court was finished. We WON this very uncertain case and I truly believe it is due to her unwavering focus and her ability to actually care about my daughter and I and the results that would affect our lives tremendously. This is the first time I've ever had to secure an attorney for legal assistance and I'm so glad Google lead me to Mr. Nutt. I am currently obtaining my graduate degree and had contract trouble with a fairly large and well-known organization. I would be financially ruined if I hadn't found Mr. Nutt. I tried to handle my problem alone, but was getting nowhere. As soon as he stepped in, everything changed. He was incredible from consultation through the entire process. Neither of us anticipated him being able to resolve this issue so promptly or easily, but he is so efficient and knowledgeable. I was recovering from a number of health issues, including breast and uterine cancer, when my husband and I experienced a leaking window after Hurricane Florence. During that repair, we discovered that our brand new retirement home was rotting from the inside out. Some of the plywood inside our walls was rotting, as were some of the beams that supported the structure of our home. Disheartened, we reached out to Kyle Nutt, who was representing a neighbor who had had similar problems with the same builder.
If you have to go through something like this, Kyle Nutt Is your guy. Kyle is a gifted attorney and negotiator. I can’t imagine getting through these last few years without him. From the beginning of what was an exhausting and emotional multi-year process, Kyle has embodied professionalism, calm, reassurance, legal brilliance, energy, and thoroughness. Kyle and his staff made what was surely one of the most difficult times of our lives bearable. To begin, he explained the litigation process in a clear and straightforward way, spelling out our options and making recommendations on how to move forward. This was important, as my husband and I had never been involved in a lawsuit before and were nervous about the process. We spent an entire year working with the forensic structural engineer that Kyle recommended (she was amazing) and our new construction company to find everything we could that was wrong with our home to document and fix it. We were fortunate to be able to begin reconstruction prior to our lawsuit, but the cost was so great that we felt we had no option other than to sue. During that time and over the next year, Kyle helped us collect all relevant documents that we would need to argue our case for reimbursement, including emails, texts, contracts, and so forth. While going through these two years was not fun, Kyle’s sense of humor, ability to explain each step, and efficient process kept us sane. He and his staff lessened the burden as much as they could and guided us through each step. When the time came for depositions, which went on for several months, he knew both of us well enough to give us sound advice and hold our hands through the process. While I am glad that we were able to resolve our case, if that had not happened, we would have had total faith in Kyle to represent us in court and would have been optimistic about achieving a fair final outcome.
Hopefully, this is our first and last lawsuit. While we will never recover those two years of our lives and hope that no one else has to find themselves in this type of situation, if you do, there is no one better to work with than Kyle Nutt. Until Kyle, I viewed attorneys as a necessary evil who were mostly for estate planning. But Kyle has turned my whole view of lawyers around. We give him our highest recommendation and compete vote of confidence.

I first met Dawn a few months ago. My case involves separation, child custody, and soon to be divorce. After first reviewing my case she hit the ground running. She informed me of all my options and remained flexible while I made my decision on what course I wanted to take. Even when the opposing counsel attempted to claim constitutional grievances against me, she remained calm and professional. She cited how the opposing counsel was incorrect in their allegations and the judge had grievances thrown out. While Dawn has not been practicing law for several years, she has the knowledge of an attorney who has been practicing for over 20. Along with her vast knowledge, she has the passion and drive of a junior lawyer who thrives on success. You can see that she truly cares about your case and will work very hard to obtain the best possible outcome. She is a true professional and respects the attorney/client relationship. However, you do not get that feeling that it is just about the exchange money like you get with other lawyers. It almost feels like a friendship with you both working to the common goal. I would highly recommend her to handle any case that someone might have.

It has taken me a while to get my thoughts on how best to write a review for a situation that was less than pleasant. I consulted with a couple of attorneys in the summer of 2016, when divorce reared its ugly head into my life. I instantly felt comfortable with Ryan. He was down to earth, and seemed to “understand” where I was coming from. I know that attorneys do try to “sell” their services by agreeing with you and telling you that they will be the best and get you everything you want in a divorce situation, but this simply isn’t true. Ryan didn’t over promise. The very first consultation, he told me what he thought about my situation, and didn’t promise me the world. He was up front and honest. I know most people do not think of the words honesty and attorneys/lawyers in the same sentence, but he didn’t try to sell himself to me. I appreciated this. I was in a weird state at the time, and definitely didn’t need to hear things that weren’t true (honestly, I had enough of that in my marriage). Anyway, he explained everything every step of the way. He never told me that I was calling or emailing too much, and trust me when I say, I emailed a lot. I emailed him a whole 10 page document of the situation and the past, and why I think things happened in my divorce the way they did. This information was probably not relevant to the “case”, but it was most definitely relevant to my life, and I felt like my attorney needed to know the whole story. He never once told me that I was giving him too much information, or to send it to his staff. I never felt like I was bothering him too much, and when I called “freaking” out about something that I received in the mail, he never once told me that I was over reacting or it was something I shouldn’t worry about. When it comes to my kids, there is always worry, and he understood that.
His staff is amazing and very easy to contact either through email or phone. In the court room Ryan fought for me. We got the best possible outcome for my situation. I am thankful to him as I am not sure had I chosen a different attorney that they would have understood me as well, or understood what I was looking for in the outcome. I am not sure the outcome would have been in my favor, had I chosen someone else. He knew my situation and my story in and out.
My divorce is final and custody is final and equitable distribution is final, but in most custody cases, it is never FINAL. I am sure that my ex will file for more custody/visitation, and I will have to go back to court, and even though this chapter of my life is over, I know that Ryan will be there if I need him in the future.

Mr. Linesberry represented my dad in a 3 day long divorce trial recently. This is my first time ever writing a review about anyone or anything but I just have to. "Duke" Linesberry is by far the best attorney I have ever met. He did a spectacular job during the trial . He not only works as hard as he can he genuinely cares. I’m finally writing a review after realizing what it’s like to have a good attorney.... reflecting back on the recent past of how bad my experience Was with Amanda and her husband Bruce (whom I used to hold high on a pedestal) my review is well over due. I have never cried so hard in my life being forced to agree to a custody arrangement I never would have approved of was like losing a loved one. I felt like I had no voice and the opposing party called all the shots and I was just made to think I had to agree to everything they threw at me! I dealt more with her assistant, who at the time had a very shallow understanding of the legal world in some departments I knew more! Bless her heart she was super sweet but not the right person for the job! I tell everyone of this experience and so happy I finally found one wonderful attorney! Going through a custody battle has been the hardest experience of my life and I lost my dad at 15 years of age..... Amanda didn’t come close in making it any better! Money hungry didn’t felt like they cared whatsoever. If your made of money you may have a better experience sad to say.

I have retained Roseanna twice- first for my initial divorce and then 4 years later when there was a modification of custody. The thing I appreciate most about her is her availability- she responded to my inquiries quickly and she was very good at calming me down; the process was very emotional and tough. She was a rock. She helped me stay realistic and focus on the major goals. In the end I was satisfied with our agreement out of court. Highly recommend.

I went to Lonnie with a plan of what I wanted for my son and what would be best for him. Lonnie made sure that happened exactly how I needed it to and made sure I understood everything I was going into. When things took a turn and got a little messier, they made sure they got right on the ball to keep me calm and keep things in the right direction! I never had to worry about the outcome or what to expect because I was kept informed 110 percent on everything to come and going on. Lonnie and Amy Bender both were outstanding at keeping me informed and stayed in touch with me. I don't think I went a full 24 hours without hearing from one of them whether it be by email or a phone call. They kept me calm through it all and made sure I knew what to expect coming up. They did their absolute best at their job and honestly went above and beyond! I could not have been happier with their service and how professional they were with me. They seriously do go above and beyond for their clients! I would highly recommended them to ANYONE! Like I said, I can not stress enough how outstanding Lonnie Merritt is!! I retained Nick in 2016 for family law matters with an out-of-state ex, i,e., cat and mouse game
that lasted almost 4 years. Nick worked hard for my children and myself. He is ethical, professional, hard-working & has sound advice. He plays 0 games, tells it like it is. Now, he is retained again in 2023 for a different issue because I could not think of anyone else to represent my senior mother. You need a straight-shooter who is humble and knows law inside & out.

I hired Nick as an defense attorney recently and initially we had a consultation first. He seemed to be mostly on the same page as me his potential client at this time. Two weeks later after hiring him and only having one (1 hour and 15 minute) phone call and just a few emails that we sent back and forth. He talked to me like he was working for the plantiff. Also I feel that I was taking complete advantage of by the outrageous charges for his very brief time spent on my case before I removed him as counsel for me.
