Nowadays, Crossroads Investigations can do that for you, by locating anyone, anywhere and give you the information you need before making a deal with them, lending them money, having them watch your kids, investing in one of their their projects, or for any other myriad reasons you need to pull back the curtain to reveal the true man or woman behind the curtain. If you have an amicable divorce go to a mediator or give a small retainer fee. This office has a NON-refundable refund for retainers. My case was during the holidays and after we signed everything the office went silent. I had to email to check status and then they would move the case. I wasn't even informed on when my divorce was finalized, I found it on public records. Although I am knowledgeable and know it was my mistake for not reading the terms, I hope this helps someone to ask about refundable retainer fees. My divorce billable hours were about 2,500. My retainer fee was 5,500 so the office made an easy $2,900.00. Hope this review helps someone in the future!

I would leave zero stars if I could. Empire came highly recommended from another law firm. Worst referral we have ever received. The Court Reporter showed up late for the zoom deposition and left her audio on the entire time with the tv playing in the background. We scheduled a 2 hour deposition for 4pm and Empire charge us almost double the hourly rate for after hour charges without letting us know there would be an additional fee. They corrected the invoice and when we paid it charged us the original amount of the invoice. I call and get disconnected or voicemail on a regular basis. This company has been very unprofessional and rude. I would recommend another court reporting service for your needs.

I interviewed about 5 law firms. Selected Josh and could not have been happier with the choice. He walked me through the process. He gave me his personal cell phone, actually called me back and responded to my texts. He was able to have my charges reduced from two felony charges and than a few months later, dropped. At 57 and having to deal with a few attorneys in my younger years, I didn't like any of them. I would say "I didn't like ANY attorney" because they ALL had the "better than anyone attitude", etc. I ALMOST didn't call an attorney; was just going to Public Defender & plea out because wasn't interested in an attorney just out for the money when they knew the "End Result" would be the same; however, at the suggestion of my bondsman, I decided to call & talk to Josh figuring nothing to lose by making the call. THANK GOD I made that call in May 2014; With 1 question from Josh I realized it was not that cut & dry; AND, I felt he was being honest, not just trying to suck a client in for money! I hired Josh. Since the beginning, I could feel his sincerity with my case. 1st time I can honestly say an attorney (Joshua Rydell) went above & beyond any expectations I ever had!! I had F3 & M1 charges; March 2017 (almost 3 years after arrest), F3 & M1, was amended to M1 only with 12 mos prob & possible off in 6 mos; total court & probation costs will be $318; AND all would have been thrown out due to the warrant if my employment time clocks had been working both days in question. From the beginning I told Josh I didn't want any charges, that I wanted everything just thrown out like nothing ever happened. Haha, right? Josh was thorough, detailed, creative, exceptionally knowledgeable with the laws (AN ASSET FOR ANY CLIENT), and never in a million years did I even expect the AWESOME outcome he got for me. He is even going to file for early release of Probation to get that over in the 6 months, as well as have the records sealed since adjudication withheld. I honestly can't say enough good about this attorney and how he really did save me from what could have ruined me personally & professionally. Now, after I do the probation and we go back, it will be as though nothing ever happened which is just as good as everything thrown out to me. He is VERY reasonable with his costs which is usually unheard of with attorneys, again, Joshua is just different. He has very rare qualities not usually seen in criminal attorneys. I will and would recommend this attorney, Joshua Rydell, to any friend or family member should they ever need representation with the utmost confidence they would receive the ABSOLUTE BEST legal representation possible!! He is truly the best and I thank the good Lord for helping me find my way to Joshua for help. My family and I needed a probate attorney. We needed to settle my mother’s estate after she passed away. I looked for a probate attorney and they never got back with me after leaving several messages and I had to keep calling. When I did received a call back they did not explain the process just told me what their fee was and I had to pay it upfront. Needless to say I seek help from someone else. Where to even begin.... If this doesn't say enough, I don't know what will: I'm suffering from an incurable, blinding eye disease known as Retinitis Pigmentosa. Gradually losing vision, however, my case seems to be progressing at a very aggressive speed. In 2012, I couldn't take all the discrimination anymore. My whole family has been suffering, not just me. More importantly, my eye disease became some sort of crime and was the reason I was getting fired, I hired, rejected from health insurance, etc. I had a company.
Trying to sue me for not disclosing the extent of what "RP is." This man, not only bent over backwards to make sure I receive justice, he was extremely sympathetic but Agressive at the same time. This is exactly what I wanted. He does not sugar coat anything and will prepare you for the worst possible outcome so there are never any surprises. If you listen to him in court, you never hear a stutter or an ,"um" as if he is trying to think of what to say next... NEVER. He is very confident because of all the knowledge and experience he has. If I knew 25% of what he knew, let's be honest, I'd be pretty confident too! No BS, right to the point, isn't looking to screw anyone, and honestly, if it weren't for C. Craig Stella, I have NO idea where I'd be. Probably homeless and suicidal.. Maybe even dead. Thank you are words that are far from what this man deserves. Couple years later, I'm still trying to come up with the appropriate way of thanking this amazing, 34+ experienced attorney and I'm still not sure how else to thank this man. What I do know, is the words and flowers to him are not enough! Ha ha. Yes, he specializes in all criminal cases and it's laud out pretty evenly between this, DUI, as well as federal cases but I do know he also specializes in divorce law. Just a gem but a feisty one! But that's what we want when hiring an attorney? At least I knew I did and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world. :)

Mitch Polay really delivers, I had a recent gun case in which the Judge had increased my bond from 1k to 85k and 24 hour lockdown at home, I was unable to work, go to the store nothing. Mitch was able to get me off the ankle monitor completely even got them to allow me to travel freely in and out the country on 4 felonies. Everything he said to me was always factual, he really was a man of his word. The D.A. Had mentioned I scored out to a mandatory prison sentence of 2 yrs minimum. Mitch worked tirelessly and around the clock staying in touch with me every step of the way. I still dont know how he did it but all my charges were reduced to misdemeanors and I was let off with one year probation, he assured and reassured me several times he would do what’s best for me and he absolutely overdelivered. Through the years he became not my lawyer that I hired But a great friend and mentor in many aspects of my life. He is a well respected and a true professional. I hope to never have to hire an attorney or ever get into any bad situations in my life ever again but if you have ever see yourself in cuffs and you need a real lawyer, don’t say anything other than I want To speak to my lawyer Mitch Polay and know that you will have someone in your corner who will not go down without a fight and will be there to the end alongside you. Mr. Canet is a lifesaver & the best attorney I could have ever asked for. The state wanted 8.5 years in prison and would not back down. My first attorney (NOT Canet) told me to take the 8.5 year plea bc my case was a clear win for the state and trial would be suicide. Would avoid working with this firm if at all possible. They are extremely slow to respond, completely disregard emails, and show a complete lack of empathy or understanding. If you are not consistently following up, you will be hard pressed to receive any type of response. If you do receive a response, it will be short and often times not even answer your questions. It consistently felt like we had to chase them down for the most simple requests. Go elsewhere if you have the option.
