We hired Richard Rice to represent our daughter in a Misdemeanor Charge for driving without insurance. While this type of defense work is well short of the types of defense Richard typically handles he accepted the work after we explained that any finding against our daughter could adversely affecther teaching career and credentials. Richard and his firm were with our daughter every step of the way offering support and confidence that the charges could be dropped because she had inadvertently failed to transfer the insurance coverage after purchasing a new car several months earlier. He was able to have the charge dismissed securing her future and receiving her of a very stressful situation. The work was professional and expedient with minimal disruption to her own work as a teacher.

In late August I was unexpectedly pulled, which ultimately led to criminal charges that could have jeopardized my career. I had a very complex divorce case that was a complete mess. All of the people I worked with were amazing! Kayla Upchurch saved the day when a scheduling conflict arose with my lawyer just two weeks before my court date. i hired this firm to represent my son in a dui/ hit an run clayton county case, all i can say is you can't go wrong with this firm he ended up with a wrecked driving conviction with a fine less than $500 and 40 hours community service from the municipal court in downtown jonesboro the first atty i hired stole $600 from me and didn't even show up for first appearance so be careful read reviews make sure they have a real office. But back to Thomas R. Barton Firm hire these guys if you want the best representation you can get, they do care it's not just about the money Love Love Love these guys !!!

Charles Cullen handled our son’s case with sensitivity to his mental health challenges and the unique circumstances under which he was first arrested.
Due to the backlog of cases in Fulton County, we endured over two long years of waiting and worrying following his initial arrest in February of 2022 until the matter was successfully negotiated in October of 2024. This was a stressful period for our son who has mental health issues which made a difficult time even harder for him to endure.
Mr. Cullen always extended himself graciously and with professionalism to us and our son. He always kept us informed of the status of negotiations and answered all our communications promptly. We never had to wait to hear from him or to respond to our inquiries, which would have been even more stress-inducing. With his help, we navigated this very upsetting matter to a reasonably good conclusion.
Mr. Cullen has empathy for individuals who deal with mental health challenges; those whose personal problems sometimes lead to confrontations with the legal system. He understands the ins and outs of trying to get the best possible deal for clients when aspects of the case are attributable to an individual’s ongoing struggles with severe psychiatric issues.
More importantly, he is able to convey to prosecutors that allowances should be considered for a defendant where mental health issues are involved. Charles has a thorough understanding of the laws which can help protect these individuals.
Under these special circumstances, we are pleased with the ultimate outcome of our son’s case and the fact that Mr. Cullen was able to ensure that no permanent criminal record will remain following a compliant probationary period. All in all, this appears to be a fair conclusion to a very regrettable incident which might have otherwise completely destroyed our son’s life.
Mr. Cullen’s sensitive and expert efforts on his behalf have now given our son the opportunity to wipe the slate clean, continue getting the care he needs, and move forward with his life free from the burden and stigma of a public criminal record or the trauma of incarceration. We are grateful for Charles Cullen’s thoughtful, professional, and patient handling of our son’s case.

I hired Attorney Crews to represent me on a traffic ticket that I received in connection with traffic accident in November 2020. He was very communicative when we contracted and made arrangements for payments, but did little else after that. My wife and I immediately stressed to him that it would be important to get footage from traffic cameras at the intersection in question when we hired him in mid-November 2020 .He took a look at the ticket I received and said that he had contacts at the prosecutors office and would be able to get this dismissed right away.
By early December he still had not requested that the footage be preserved. He consequently was unable to secure the footage, compromising my ability to defend against the charges. Instead, he called to tell us that he'd gotten a copy of the report----which my wife and I had already gotten a copy of on our own. Between 2021 and January 2024 we only heard from attorneys or assistants that worked with Mr. Crews and not Mr. Crews himself, we reached out to him ourselves.
In February 2024, I finally had my court date in municipal court, Mr. Crews told us that he would not be able to attend but would send another attorney in his stead. We had a quick phone call with that attorney, Attorney Harrell, the day before court to introduce her to us but not having any meaningful convo about the substance of the case.
On the court date, Attorney Harrell was late and by the time she showed, I had negotiated a diversion for myself. My wife and I told her that we no longer needed her/Mr. Crew's services and walked away.
When I got home, I saw a missed call from Attorney Crews (he had called my house phone while he should have known I was at my court date). I called him back and he immediately began telling me-- a 63 year-old man- that he was very upset with me and that I had "belittled" his fiance. ((Turns out that Attorney Harrell was his fiance and not just a colleague). He then threatened to call the police if I contacted him again and hung up the phone in my face.
He's been dodging my calls and voicemails ever since and has been non-responsive to my request for a refund. This is not the way a lawyer or a man should handle business.
