Absolute Scam and Unprofessional Behavior Jeremy, I hired you to help with a bogus speeding ticket, where I have clear dash cam footage showing my speed, location, and the officer’s actions before and after the stop. The officer claimed I was going 80 in a 45, wrote the wrong location of the stop, and the speed limit on that road was actually 55. My speedometer was at 61, clearly shown on the dash cam. Yet, you had the nerve to tell me you could “maybe” reduce the ticket to a 14-over, despite knowing the entire ticket was a joke. After this ridiculous introduction, I called the very next day—over a month before the court date—and requested a refund. Your desk lady assured me I’d get a full refund. But today, I get a call telling me the case was continued (even though I fired you), and now you’re only offering half of my payment back because you “spent 20 minutes” on my case? That’s a load of crap. Then, to top it off you have the audacity to threaten me with legal action if I dispute this scam through my bank. You’re not even competent enough to handle a simple case like this and now you’re acting like a crook. I honestly feel bad for your firm that you’re so desperate for this money, but I’ll be sure to keep on sharing my experience the community. Keep the half—you clearly need it more than I do. Shameful.

Matthew Minikus is an educated and experienced attorney, but what sets him apart is his passion and ability to fight in the courtroom. He was focused and confident as he presented my case, skillfully interviewed witnesses, and quickly objected to unfair statements. We were successful because of this but even more importantly is that he put in the work. We went to court four times, and each time he took me into a private room to thoroughly review the case. He examined it from every angle, over and over, until we developed a strong, truthful argument to present to the judge. In stark contrast, other attorneys simply waved to their clients, had a brief chat, and then spent the rest of their time socializing until their cases were called. It was off putting and sad how some professionals can be so indifferent. Please remember that if this is something serious don't just assume people are going to do the right thing. Call Matthew and talk to him for 15 minutes. A small amount of time to invest in your future. I'm sure you will be happy.

I picked up William on a UBER ride and he was so cool ! He Loves practicing Law and was more then willing to advise me with my pressing Legal Questions.( I actually got a Free Consultation and ultimately a awesome Attorney out of that ride). I asked for a business card. I'm getting a Divorce and my Wife was Suing me so I contacted William and even though Family Law is not his preference he said sure he would help me. The Case is currently active but I feel safe my interests are protected. William is that first Attorney I ever had that you can call up and he will answers and I'm like What's up Man ? Did you hear anything about my case. Then he will talk to you and here you out that's the difference with him. Tell him everything about you're case. Things you think might now matter may under the Law. If you're Hiring a Attorney to help you with YOUR case he's the best to work with. Be proactive and help him get all the information he needs to handle the Law end. He is Very confident and Smart as I remember him telling me he can handle and case , County , State , Federal , whatever he know exactly what to do. In my case as I helped him get all the Paperwork for my case he made positive Connections with everyone involved in my case. This Approach was Brilliant and their are all different types of Attorneys but William will tell you he takes on hard cases to figure out . Who does that ? He did win Attorney of the Year . Ask him about it. Congratulations !

Elliot worked tirelessly on a case for my family. Elliot organized disparate facts and thoughts into persuasive arguments and briefs with appropriate legal citations. When necessitated by pending deadlines, Elliot turned work out in short order, often returning documents late into the night. He was patient with my questions, open to input, and leveraged the resources of his firm as appropriate. Despite the long hours Elliot was investing in work products for our case, he took the time to keep me informed along the way. Through the efforts of Elliot and his firm, our matter was brought to a successful conclusion.

Elliot was part of a legal team which represented my sister in a recent Federal case. I was also indicted in the same case and frequently read Elliot's messages to my sister. I believe that he did most of the research and evidence gathering that eventually led to a dismissal for my sister. I would not hesitate to be represented by Elliot Abrams in any legal matter that may arise. He is dedicated, personable and very thorough.

The “only secretary of the office” as she said herself is extremely rude and dismissive. She told me because of their workload the office will only respond via letters no information on the phone. When i asked the lady her name she tells me she doesn’t have to give me that information and that she is the only secretary of the office. I told her how can she be employed in an office and speak to customers in such a tone yet not want to state her name? When I asked to speak to her supervisor she said it was Allen Dubois but he was not there. I told her I will be making a complaint on her attitude and she hung up on me. Someone needs to fire this lady because why are you even employed if you don’t want to give your name or any information to the community seeking assistance from your office? Quit your job girl clearly you don’t care for it!

0/10 - Would not recommend. Ms. Sparrow showed up late and didn't seem to be prepared for our case. My abuser was caught dead to rights on a DVPO violation. When the subpoenas for security footage and witnesses went ignored (these were vital to proving what my abuser had done), Ms. Sparrow decidedto go forward with the hearing anyway. Needless to say, we lost. It feels like I paid Ms. Sparrow almost $6k just to empower my abuser. If your case is anything more serious than a parking ticket, I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere for representation.

Ms. Sparrow did a fantastic job on my case and I am thankful. I have a CDL license and for me it is more than the right to drive from one place to another, it is my living. Rather than describe the aspects of the case I will just say that I had gotten into some trouble unintentionally with the police and as sometimes happens, things we don't realize are as serious as they are, threaten are livelihood. Thankfully Ms. Sparrow did a wonderful job and saved my career by getting mycase voluntarily dismissed. Hopefully I won't ever run into a legal situation again, but I know to call her first if I need help again.

What a Federal Crime Lawyer Can Do for You

A federal crime lawyer specializes in defending individuals or organizations accused of violating federal laws. These lawyers have experience navigating the complex federal criminal justice system, which includes higher penalties, stricter sentencing guidelines, and a different court system than state-level crimes. Federal crime lawyers defend clients against a wide range of charges, such as drug trafficking, white-collar crimes, fraud, conspiracy, gun violations, and more. They assist in every phase of the legal process, from investigation to trial and appeals, ensuring their clients' rights are protected.

If you’re facing federal criminal charges, a federal crime lawyer can provide the necessary defense and expertise to navigate the complexities of federal law and achieve the best possible outcome.

When Should I Hire a Federal Crime Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a federal crime lawyer in any situation where you are under investigation or have been charged with a federal crime. Key scenarios include:

  • Charged with a federal crime: If you’ve been charged with a federal offense, such as drug trafficking, wire fraud, money laundering, or conspiracy, hiring a federal crime lawyer is essential to ensure your defense is tailored to federal court procedures and laws.
  • Target of a federal investigation: If you are being investigated by federal agencies like the FBI, DEA, ATF, or IRS, it’s crucial to retain a lawyer early on. A lawyer can help you avoid self-incrimination and build a defense strategy to counter the investigation.
  • White-collar crimes: If you’ve been accused of federal white-collar crimes such as securities fraud, embezzlement, or insider trading, a lawyer can help defend you against charges brought by federal prosecutors and regulatory agencies like the SEC.
  • Drug-related charges: If you’re facing federal drug charges, such as possession, distribution, or trafficking of controlled substances, a lawyer can represent you in federal court and negotiate plea deals or challenge the prosecution’s case.
  • Gun-related offenses: If you’ve been charged with federal gun crimes, including illegal possession, trafficking, or using a firearm during a violent crime, a federal crime lawyer can help defend against harsh federal penalties.
  • Immigration-related crimes: Federal charges involving immigration violations, such as human trafficking, smuggling, or illegal re-entry after deportation, require specialized legal knowledge of both federal criminal law and immigration law.
  • Appeals: If you’ve been convicted of a federal crime and are seeking to appeal the conviction or sentence, a federal crime lawyer can assist with the appeals process, focusing on legal errors or issues that may have occurred during the trial.

Hiring a lawyer as soon as you know you are under investigation or charged with a federal crime gives you the best chance of protecting your rights and building a strong defense.

What Does a Federal Crime Lawyer Do?

A federal crime lawyer provides a wide range of legal services to defend individuals and organizations accused of federal crimes. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Defending clients in federal court: Federal crime lawyers represent clients in all stages of federal criminal proceedings, including pre-trial motions, plea negotiations, trials, and sentencing hearings.
  • Building a defense strategy: Lawyers thoroughly investigate the charges, review the prosecution’s evidence, and develop a defense strategy tailored to the unique aspects of federal law and sentencing guidelines.
  • Negotiating plea deals: In some cases, a lawyer may negotiate with federal prosecutors to reduce charges or penalties, potentially avoiding a lengthy trial and reducing sentencing.
  • Handling federal investigations: If you are the subject of a federal investigation, a lawyer will guide you on how to interact with federal agents, respond to subpoenas, and handle potential interrogations, ensuring your rights are not violated.
  • Filing pre-trial motions: Federal crime lawyers can file motions to suppress evidence, dismiss charges, or challenge the legality of the investigation or arrest, aiming to weaken the prosecution’s case before trial.
  • Representing clients in appeals: If you’ve been convicted, a federal crime lawyer can represent you in the appeals process, focusing on legal errors, misconduct, or constitutional issues that may have affected the trial’s outcome.
  • Managing sentencing and post-conviction matters: Lawyers also help clients during the sentencing phase, arguing for leniency or alternatives to imprisonment, and assist with post-conviction matters such as parole or supervised release violations.

How Are Federal Crime Lawyers Paid?

Federal crime lawyers typically charge for their services in various ways, depending on the complexity of the case and the expected time commitment. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rate: Many federal crime lawyers charge by the hour, with rates typically ranging from $300 to $1,000 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience, the case complexity, and geographic location.
  • Flat fee: For specific services, such as negotiating a plea deal or representing you during the initial stages of a federal investigation, some lawyers offer a flat fee. Flat fees for federal criminal defense cases often range from $5,000 to $25,000, depending on the scope of the work.
  • Retainer: In complex federal cases, a lawyer may require a retainer, which is an upfront payment that covers a portion of the legal work. The lawyer then bills against this retainer as they work on the case. Retainers typically range from $10,000 to $100,000 or more, depending on the case.
  • Payment plans: Some federal crime lawyers may offer payment plans, especially if the case involves extended litigation or lengthy appeals. This can help make legal fees more manageable over time.

It’s crucial to discuss fees with your lawyer upfront to understand the total cost of representation and how payments will be handled throughout the case.

How Much Does a Federal Crime Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a federal crime lawyer depends on the complexity of the case, the lawyer’s experience, and the time required to resolve the case. General cost estimates include:

  • Hourly rates: Federal crime lawyers generally charge between $300 and $1,000 per hour. For example, if a lawyer charges $500 per hour and spends 50 hours on your case, the total cost would be $25,000.
  • Flat fees: For simpler cases, such as negotiating a plea deal, flat fees can range from $5,000 to $25,000 or more, depending on the seriousness of the charges and the lawyer’s experience.
  • Retainers: In more complex or ongoing cases, a lawyer may require a retainer of $10,000 to $100,000, depending on the case’s scope and complexity.
  • Appeals: If you’re appealing a federal conviction, legal fees for an appeal can range from $10,000 to $50,000 or more, depending on the issues being raised and the length of the appellate process.

In addition to legal fees, you may also need to cover additional costs such as court filing fees, expert witness fees, and investigation expenses.
