How many lawyers have so many 5 star reviews? Let me tell you that John Lindsey is the best attorney i have worked with. Excellent communication and professionalism. Highly recommended if you need representation in his field of expertise.

John is a no-nonsense and detail oriented attorney. I needed his services for handling a ticket. Upon first contact, he responded quickly, got all the information and details pertaining to the ticket. He then proceeded to explain, in an easy to understand way, the steps in the process. I completed the paperwork and left the execution to John. True to his word, he offered periodic updates and delivered an outstanding outcome for me. He settled the case from a "several points on license" to a minor "no points" parking violation. I am very grateful for John's expertise and his operating style which is without fuss or frills. I highly recommend John and would use him again (i hope I never have to).

All I can say is how thankful I am to Mr.Lindsey for all his hard work and helping me with a speeding ticket. When I first received this ticket I was terrified because it would result in 8 points on my drivers license and a huge fine while increasing my insurance immensely. Mr.Lindsey reassured me that he would reduce the points to where it would not affect my insurance rate and taking a drivers defensive course I would be cleared of having points. With the ticket I received I am extremely satisfied with the end result. I had 87/55 reduced to 65/55 and received 3 points which is a minor violation with a much lower fine and my insurance was saved. Mr.Lindsey responded really fast to emails, gave updates and the line of communication was great while not having to go to court myself. If you are in legal trouble, I would definitely recommend Mr.Lindsey to help because he is great at what he does! Thank you Mr.Lindsey! :)

My experience with Di Ma during a real estate transaction was deeply disappointing. Despite knowing that the buyer had not paid the $50,000 earnest money deposit, Di advised my spouse and me to proceed with notarizing and shipping a deed and to continue preparing for the closing. This advice led us to spend unnecessary time and money, which we now realize could have been avoided. On October 3, 2024, Di assured us in writing that she would reimburse us for these expenses, but she ultimately failed to follow through and completely stopped responding to us. Our new attorney also raised concerns about much of the legal advice Di gave, including her instructions on how to handle a “time is of the essence” letter and her misleading comments about the impact of using an out-of-state ID at the notary on our taxes. Based on these issues, we felt that her advice was incorrect and not in our best interest. Additionally, I found Di to lack professionalism throughout the transaction. She appeared overly emotional and unfocused at times when I expected calm, steady guidance during such a challenging situation. The real estate field requires lawyers to help navigate their clients through stressful situations with composure, and unfortunately, Di did not meet those expectations for us. While this was my personal experience, I would advise others to carefully consider whether they feel fully confident in the advice and professionalism of any attorney they choose to work with.

Great Law Firm! I was leary at first and ended up reading the reviews and was judging the law firm based off other people's reviews and exprience but got the total opposite services. Maybe it's particular attorneys but A. Jazembak was assigned to me. Mr. Jazembak has great communication and wants to know precisely information to accurately get the results his clients want. Honestly, if you want a good defense, be ready to have everything documented and ready to present to them EVERYTHING. They aren't mind readers so I think the negatives reviews came from clients thinking that they had to only give the basic information and assumed because it's a law firm they had the ability to make a good case on basic information. If you're putting in effort, they will 100% fight for there clients. The paralegal has excellent communication C. Barrett and the account keeps track of all funds and send an itemized bill accurately H. Myers. Give them a try, ypu wont be disappointed!!

Ok, so YES they’re great lawyers, and they got my charges dropped, but I’m writing this review mainly because of their customer service. They made me feel like a normal human when I could barely stand myself. Like everyone I encountered at the DWI team was so nice and it was kind of a relief. Shout out to JAKE!!!!

Excellent service. Prompt service. Wonderful staff. The entire process of using Ettinger Law Firm for our trust/elder law planning needs was professional, very informative and left us with a piece of mind. We had the pleasure of working with Bonnie Kraham. Bonnie was articulate in explaining the process, addressed all our concerns and questions. If you’re looking about a trust/elder law planning, set up a free consultation. They are both worth your time.

Wow Matthew is quick, hardworking, and honest. I had gotten a ticket two years ago that still had not been resolved, I called him and it took a couple of days for him to dismiss everything and honestly speaking my situation was not good, but still he pulled through and saved me. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I really recommend him and will be using him in the future .

If anyone knows what it's like to need a lawyer on a weekend or weeknight, I found myself in that situation in 2010. After Googling attorneys, I went through the list and Mr. Swedick was the only one that answered the phone.  He took care of the situation quickly. I was very impressed, and he has been my attorney now for over ten years.  He works hard for his clients and his communication is excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to any friend, family member or any stranger for that matter.

If your looking for a lawyer that COMMUNICATES top notch, say/night any hours. This is your guy! Exceptionally professional, yet treats you as a person as well not just a client. Matt is not only a fantastic lawyer but a great person. I’m business you want the best but not ever do you find a great person behind it. He will get you the outcome you deserve hands down. He will work HARD. And always on top of everything, never missed a court date. He was referred to two other people and both those people changed their entire life with his help. He kept a father home to see his daughter deliver her baby. He knows the law and how valuable life is. Your in the best hands.

Unfortunately, I had EEOC issues that I could not resolve with my employer. After several weeks of searching for a law firm with the knowledge, ability and resources to take on an EEOC case against a large agency, I heard about Tully Rinckey, PLLC., Allen Shoikhetbrod, my attorney at Tully Rinckey, is phenomenal. Allen is extremely knowledgeable about EEOC and government agency issues. Experienced, honest, professional, detail-oriented, empathetic and warrior are words I would use to describe him. Tully Rinckey is a professional law firm that cares about the individual, not just the numbers. There were no surprise or hidden fees, phone calls and emails were promptly answered. The legal representation and advice provided during my case was well worth the cost. I would definitely recommend Tully Rinckey to family and friends.

I was close to receiving a probationary dismissal from a supervisor with negative re-hire codes as a reprisal for an EEO complaint. Although his behavior was unlawful, I had next to no options and was repeatedly harassed by the legal office to sign a vague resignation contract with an NDA clause that I was not comfortable with. I was referred to Mr. Allen Shoikhetbrod by a friend (who is also an attorney but unable to take the case). Allen immediately took action by contacting the legal office and rewriting the resignation contract to be completely in my favor. I never felt pressured and knew the firm had my best interests at heart. My family and I received the outcome we needed/desired in a period of two weeks! I could not be happier. Thank you!

I have worked in the insurance business for many years and experienced working with a multitude of attorneys. But, on a matter relating to my family, I've had the extreme pleasure of working with Jason Shaw for the preceding 2 years. Mr. Shaw's level of knowledge, professionalism and proficiency is only surpassed by his level of ethics, warmth and real personal interaction with his clients. His demeanor in the professional setting is of the highest level, yet his mannerism in his interactions with his clients is one of caring, concern, sincere counsel and just plain wonderful humanity. I cannot say enough about this excellent example of what a genuine legal counselor really is. It has been a wonderful experience to work with a real counselor, in every sense of the word.

Jason represented our group which opposed a proposed industrial scale gravel mine in our residential neighborhood. Mining was allowed with a special use permit. This required extensive review of many documents, familiarity with zoning and mining law, and attendance at Planning Board and Town Board meetings. Jason spoke extemporaneously at these meetings and cogently put forward our position. His expertise was instrumental in convincing the town board to establish a moratorium on new mining applications which led to the town revising its zoning to prohibit new mines in the residential areas of town.

Mr. Maycomber was at all times very professional, and resopnded appropriately. It was a pleasure working with Mr. Maycomber; the only frustration, our entire case was accomplishes via e-mail or by phone. It has been a pleasure working with you and your agency. You have been nothing but professional throughout this process, I applaud your support of OEF/OIF veterans and the USERRA issues we are facing. I just wish we could do more to get some Federal Agencies to abide by Federal Laws through their own flawed policies instead of settling as if nothing happened. How are we to affect change of we do not push the envelope and hold these agencies to taks. I am a Veteran who works for the VA!!! Enough Said. Mr. Maycomber is an asset to the Tully Rinckey. Firm.

Twice I tried to retain these lawyers and The first time they took their sweet time to give me a retainer so I went and got another attorney. Second time it was a referral for someone that got injured and hit by a truck and they said they take the case and then a few weeks later said they were unable to prosecute the case, I wouldn't use these people even if they were the last ones and I wish I could rate them a zero. These people are afraid to prosecute government and/or anyone else involved in government

I don’t have enough words to express what a blessing Harding Mazzotti has been. My husband had a bad experience with a previous attorney and so he decided to switch to Harding Mazzotti. The staff are very responsive from the intake coordinators, the paralegals and the attorneys. My husband was able to settle his workers comp case with ease! The attorneys were fair in their fees and were truly a treasure to work with. We 100% recommend Harding Mazzotti!

What a Government Lawyer Can Do for You

A government lawyer specializes in legal issues related to government policies, regulations, and disputes involving public entities. Whether you are a private individual, business, or government agency, a government lawyer provides expert guidance on navigating the complexities of government law. These attorneys handle cases ranging from constitutional law, administrative law, regulatory compliance, and government contracts to defending or challenging government actions.

Government lawyers help individuals and organizations understand their rights and obligations under the law, represent them in disputes with government agencies, and assist in matters of government contracting, procurement, or public policy.

When Should I Hire a Government Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a government lawyer in several situations involving government regulations, compliance, or disputes. Common reasons to hire a government lawyer include:

  • Government contracts and procurement: If you are bidding for or negotiating a contract with a government agency, a lawyer can help ensure compliance with federal, state, or local contracting rules.
  • Regulatory compliance: Businesses operating in highly regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, environmental sectors) often need legal guidance to comply with government regulations and avoid penalties.
  • Government investigations: If you're being investigated by a government agency such as the IRS, SEC, or EPA, a government lawyer can help defend you against allegations or negotiate settlements.
  • Challenging government actions: If a government agency has denied a permit, license, or benefit, a lawyer can help you appeal or challenge the decision in court.
  • Constitutional and civil rights issues: If you believe your constitutional rights have been violated by a government entity, such as in cases involving free speech or discrimination, a government lawyer can help you seek justice.
  • Public policy or lobbying efforts: If you are involved in lobbying or advocating for policy changes at the local, state, or federal level, a government lawyer can provide legal advice on compliance with lobbying laws and strategies for effective advocacy.

Hiring a government lawyer early in the process can help you navigate complex legal frameworks and avoid costly mistakes when dealing with government-related legal issues.

What Does a Government Lawyer Do?

A government lawyer provides a wide range of services that cover interactions between individuals, businesses, and government entities. They can:

  • Assist with government contracts: Helping clients navigate procurement laws, drafting contracts, and resolving disputes related to government contracting.
  • Provide regulatory compliance advice: Offering guidance on meeting regulatory requirements for industries subject to federal, state, or local laws.
  • Handle administrative law matters: Representing clients before government agencies, such as appealing administrative decisions, applying for permits, or defending against regulatory enforcement actions.
  • Challenge or defend government actions: Representing clients in lawsuits involving government agencies, including constitutional challenges, civil rights violations, or disputes over government decisions.
  • Negotiate settlements with government entities: If a government agency is pursuing legal action against you or your business, a lawyer can negotiate settlements to avoid costly litigation.
  • Advocate for policy changes: Advising clients on legal strategies for influencing public policy, including lobbying and drafting legislation.
  • Litigate constitutional issues: Handling cases related to the Constitution, such as First Amendment rights, due process violations, or unlawful government actions.

How Are Government Lawyers Paid?

Government lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the case and the nature of the legal work involved. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rate: For ongoing legal matters, such as regulatory compliance or government contract disputes, lawyers may charge by the hour. Hourly rates can vary depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Flat fee: For specific services, such as drafting a government contract or filing an administrative appeal, some lawyers charge a flat fee.
  • Retainer: For clients who need ongoing legal support, such as businesses frequently interacting with government agencies, a lawyer may charge a retainer fee. This is an upfront payment that covers future legal services.
  • Contingency fee: In some cases involving litigation, such as civil rights violations, a lawyer may work on a contingency basis, meaning they only get paid if they win or settle the case.

It’s important to discuss fee structures with your lawyer during the initial consultation to avoid surprises.

How Much Does a Government Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a government lawyer depends on the complexity of the legal issue, the lawyer's experience, and their fee structure. Here are some general cost estimates:

  • Hourly rates: Government lawyers typically charge between $150 and $500 per hour, depending on their experience and the complexity of the case.
  • Flat fees: For specific legal services, such as drafting a government contract, flat fees can range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on the nature of the service.
  • Retainer fees: A retainer for ongoing legal work with government agencies can range from $5,000 to $20,000 or more, depending on the scope and frequency of the work.
  • Contingency fees: In cases where a lawyer works on contingency, their fee is usually a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or damages awarded if the case is successful.

Be sure to get a clear estimate of costs during your consultation to ensure that you understand the fees associated with your case.

Top Questions to Ask a Government Lawyer

When hiring a government lawyer, it’s essential to ask the right questions to ensure they have the experience and skills needed for your specific situation. Key questions to ask include:

  1. What is your experience with government law cases?
Make sure the lawyer has substantial experience in handling cases or issues involving government agencies, regulatory compliance, or constitutional law.
  2. What is your fee structure?
Ask how the lawyer charges for their services - whether by the hour, flat fee, retainer, or contingency fee - and request an estimate of costs.
  3. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
Ask for an honest assessment of your legal options and the likelihood of success based on your specific situation.
  4. How do you handle interactions with government agencies?
Ask about their approach to dealing with government entities and their experience with specific agencies relevant to your case (e.g., IRS, EPA, SEC).
  5. Have you handled cases like mine before?
Ask about their experience with similar cases and whether they have achieved favorable outcomes in the past.
  6. Who will handle my case?
Clarify whether the lawyer you are meeting with will personally handle your case or whether junior attorneys or paralegals will do most of the work.

How to Check the Credibility of a Government Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a reputable government lawyer, follow these steps to verify their credentials and reputation:

  • Check state bar association records: Confirm that the lawyer is licensed to practice in your state and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Review their professional experience: Look for specific experience in government-related legal issues, such as regulatory compliance, government contracts, or administrative law, on their website or professional profile.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Check online reviews and ratings on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to get insight into the lawyer’s reputation and track record.
  • Ask for references: Request references from previous clients who have worked with the lawyer on government-related matters to understand their experience and effectiveness.
  • Check for membership in relevant organizations: Look for memberships in professional organizations such as the American Bar Association's Administrative Law Section or the National Institute of Government Procurement, which can indicate the lawyer’s focus on government law.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with a government lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant information and documents. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Detailed description of your legal issue: Be prepared to explain your situation, whether it’s a regulatory compliance question, a government contract issue, or a dispute with a government agency.
  • Relevant documents: Bring any paperwork related to your case, such as contracts, permits, letters from government agencies, or notices of investigation.
  • A list of questions: Write down any questions you have about your case, including the legal process, potential outcomes, and costs.
  • Timeline of events: Provide a clear timeline of any relevant events, such as the issuance of government orders or interactions with government agencies.
  • Goals for the outcome: Be ready to discuss what you hope to achieve, whether it’s a favorable settlement, regulatory compliance, or overturning a government decision.

By being organized and prepared, you can help your lawyer understand your situation more quickly and give you the best legal advice moving forward.
